The interview was done in Yoruba language and for the first time am seeing a full Igbo boy wey sabi Yoruba language wella,I meant real undiluted Yoruba.

The boy eyes see shege, our young players need to be careful with agent, agent ruined his career....the boy talked a lot and talked good about Kelechi Iheanacho,Taiwo Awoniyi and Chidibere Nwakali.

I will try and get in touch with Awoniyi to help his colleague wella, not about money but how he can be reintegrated into football circle, not necessarily as a player but in other capacity.

Na their kog45 and andsungorilla can tell us about Nkono
Yes Thomas Nkono was a great keeper and one of the bests in the world during his era, really surprised he was omitted. He was in goal in Espana 82 World Cup and was solid,Cameroon didn't lose any match but failed to qualify from group stage, fact he had two clean sheets.

He was a starter in Afcon 84 hosted by Ivory Coast, kept in two matches, left the competition due to club engagement, and Antoine Bell replaced him.He made 1990 WC as a starter but was a back up to Antoine Bell in 1994 WC.It was good rivalry between him and Antoine Bell in Cameroon national team, the two are reliable, later Jacques Songo joined, three solid keepers.

Thomas Nkono a legend with Espanol, kept for the club from 1982-1990,later joined Club Bolivar 1993-1997.

APOTY winner 1979 and 1982

Pls who's this Ife David Ibrahim, watching his highlights against Girona, the boy is Mikel John Obi,the same style of play but a bit faster on the ball.

Another thing I noticed is Awoniyi's success is largely built or instilled through his faith. I sense his religious beliefs and discipline have helped sustain his career. Talent wise, he is not upto Denis Bonaventure, Isaac Success and kelechi Iheanacho. But all this three suffered from some lack of discipline at one point or the other in their careers and that really affected them. For instance it was said that kelechi clowned too much and he wasn't serious and so Rohr dropped him from AFCON 2019 squad in favour of raw and hungry Osimhen. It's no surprise that Awoniyi''s discipline has sustained him as the only Nigerian striker still in the ÉPL despite his injuries and cameo role at Forrest. He had delivered Forest in his first season and continues to build on that .
Yes you are absolutely right on Awoniyi. He saved forest in his first two seasons, nearly lost his life in 2024/25 season, and funny his contract was extended, last season should have been his last for forest going by his performance but the club believed in him.

Willy2025:
Joshua hasn't fully recovered from the loss of his friends and trainers. He nearly got knocked out in this fight in round one before recovering to knock out his opponent. Against an elite fighter like Tyson Fury, he would have certainly been knocked out. Even at that, the first looked fixed as the guy merely threw in deliberately in round two.
AJ didn't do anything in the first round and his opponent failed to do anything in the second round, initially I thought it was fixed but watching the KO closely in slow motion it wasn't fixed.....AJ need to brace up though losing two closed friends in such a terrible situation damn painful when one was involved and only grace saved him.

I didn't know about the Osaze wahala. Meanwhile it was local.coaches that brought same Osaze into the national team. Meanwhile, Keshi and IK eventually reconciled after the WC. I recall Keshi invited IK's brother but he declined the invite. Ideye Brown was his boy but I don't know what happened between them. But after all said and done, Uchebo, ameobi were disappointments at that world cup. Some other players Keshi promoted into the team did well though, the likes of Onazi, Efe Ambrose, Oshaniwon, Babatunde
At the end Keshi made it to round of 16 that US 94 and France 98 teams achieved....kalas

Obafemi martins, Haruna lukman, Ajagun,Taiwo, Imoh Ezekiel, Chinedu Obasi nko?
Obafemi Martins was called, played against Kenya or Ethiopia and that was his worst outing for eagles....Haruna Lukmam replaced Mikel in 2010 and his performance was abysmal so no way in 2014...Keshi picked Osaze over Imoh... injury dealt with Obasi...Ajagun was with under 20 team then....prior to 2013 Afcon there was disciplinary issue between Keshi and Taye similar to that of IK Uche.

yes, the way ameobi, Michael babatunde walked straight into the national team without prior international experience made me suspect him. Meanwhile Ike Uche that scored 13 goals in Laliga didn't make the cut. They had to beg him to include odemwingie in the world cup squad. No wonder etim esin accused him of influencing westerhoff selections for USA 94 leaving Nduka Ugbade regretting not making the cut to the US when he was left out
IK Uche knew he will not make Keshi team after Afcon due personal differences that occured during Afcon 2013...Westerhoff wasn't impressed with Ugbade, needed perfect left foot player and Mike Emenalo fitted the bill, hope you remember Emenalo later played 3 out of 4 matches due to Iroha injury and did very well...Ameobi performance against Italy gave him the chance...yes Osaze opened criticism of national team coaches almost worked against him,if you don't know during 2010 WC Osaze almost disrupt camp due to coach preference for Chinedu Obasi over him....he did the same thing to Samson Siasia during Olympics games...so some coaches hate such attitude...

As far as I know, Yoruba movies seem to dominate Nigeria’s box office and global recognition more than Igbo or English-language films. I’m open to learning though can anyone point out an Igbo or English Nollywood movie that has outperformed films by Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, or Femi Adebayo since the industry began? In case you didn’t know, Yoruba movies have been around for over 20 years before Igbo or English-language Nollywood films you can fact-check that. So comparing them is a bit like comparing Chelsea to Manchester United; they’re simply not on the same level in many aspects.
Regina Chuckwu is a poor actor and funny she said she is popular in South West Nigeria.

I'm a Yoruba by tribe but what she said here are not true.Yoruba Nollywood gave rooms for mediocre to operate not like English Nollywood that gave real actors platform to express their talents....

Regina Chuckwu belonged to mediocre actors group in Yoruba Nollywood......we have many Yoruba actors who are extremely doing well in English Nollywood so Regina Chuckwu is a poor actor and should thank God that Yoruba appreciate lot, bringing tribes into it shouldn't have occurred.

proper and certified CAM. I believe Oruma was only ahead of him in the pecking order just because he has more connections in the NFF then than Obiora

The only CAM that was better than Obiora then was Jay Jay
Baba God bless you, after the success of Atlanta 96 some players were so powerful and they determined who comes in... reason why I said some foreign coaches involved in shady deals..... Joseph Dosu made Olympic team cuz of Churchill Oliseh and his brother Sunday Oliseh who was so powerful and closer to Bonfrere Jo...when Nigeria lost to Togo in a friendly, yes non of the goals were Emma Babayaro fault but they capitalized on it to pushed Dosu in just for him to sign for Reggiana...this caused friction between Cele Babayaro and Sunday Oliseh for years cuz he knew what happened...... Atlanta 96,injured Emma Amuneke was picked along...Akpoborire was sacrificed for injured Amokachie in France 98....

Baba, things dey happen when it comes to player selection, recently Chelle picked a player from very lower English league for Poland and Portugal friendlies and I can bet it with anyone that it wasn't Chelle

I'm genuinely just watching highlights of James Obiora and he was absolutely mad skillful! how come he never hit any peak of fame like Jay Jay? Damn, the dude looked legit.
James Obiorah na baller..he was so young when he came to Kwara bomber. He came straight to Ilorin from eaglet camp with Kwara bomber defender Taofeek Babatunde who he met in eaglet camp...his first 15 minutes five aside training convinced the coaches.

He was unofficially blacklisted for eagles call ups due to what happened between him and coach Bitrus Bewarang.....

He was on the bench for Obodo and Nigeria was about to miss Olympic qualification with 10 minutes remaining, after much pressures from fans and assistant coaches on the bench,he was introduced, changed the game instantly, won a free kick and converted it, spectators went wild with jubilations

Yes he was wrong for putting one of his fingers toward the bench symbolizing "that coach you no sabi wetin you dey do for benching me"

opes:
I would still rate both Chris Obodo and Oruma ahead of Obiorah when it comes to who ranks next to Okocha.
Yes it would be difficult to convince many that James Obiorah was better. He was a proper well groomed midfielder who sabi the game wella,go and watch Nigeria vs Jamaica friendly prior to France 98 then you would understand me better.

James Obiorah belonged to the class of our youth faces of Nigeria football of Kanu,Oruma,Iheanacho,Success,Nwakali, Osimehn......he was invited very late to Japan 93 squad, and coaches realized that better for him to be made captain of 95 set and it came to pass.

What affected his senior appearances for eagles was due to an incident involving him and coach Bitrus Bewarang,no sane coach will bench Obiorah for Obodo...it was an Olympic qualifying match, and we are almost out with 10 minutes to go, pressures from the bench forced Bitrus to introduced him, immediately he entered the game changed and he won a free kick with 5 minutes left,he took the free kick curled it in and national stadium went wild...after the goal he put a finger on his head telling Bitrus that you don't know what you are doing, after that match unofficially he never get call up again till Nigeria vs Jamaica friendly prior to France 98, sincerely he nearly dropped Oruma but big boys in the team said NO........2002 world cup he voiced out through media that why are they denying him eagles invitations cuz he was doing well,he got his invitation after few days, just a day training with eagles, and friendly match which he scored,Oruma was dropped for him.

Obiorah was a player Nigeria missed due to politicking, the guy na real baller, ask Real Madrid fans about James.
