My brother, I am a realist. I don't hate Semi Ajayi; in fact, Semi Ajayi, just like Troost Ekong, is a proper professional footballer who has poured every ounce of talent he possesses into his career. Both of these gentlemen have achieved more in their professional careers than many players who are significantly more talented than they are.

I may be viewing these matters from a different perspective than some of you here. I am tired of witnessing mediocre Super Eagles teams. I refuse to settle for this mediocrity any longer. I envision a Super Eagles team similar to what we had in the '90s, where they can potentially qualify for the World Cup in 2030 not just to make up the numbers, but as a dark horse capable of providing any team in the world with a strong challenge.

We currently have 1 defender at that level. We have 4 defenders that will get to that level in 2 years, and we have 2 great prospects that I have watched and I am excited about.

The sole defender at that level currently is (Calvin Bassey).

The four defenders that will get to that level in 1 to 2 years (Benjamin Federicks, Emmanuel Fernandez Chibuike Nwaiwu & Victory Akpe)

Some exciting prospects that can spoil the party with massive growth to their game in the next 3 years are (Vincent Osuji & Emmanuel Chukwu).

Some other prospects will probably emerge, but for now these are players that I have watched extensilvely and feel they have the required tool set that will allow us to play a position-based football like we used to do in the 90s.

Oga nobody is talking about hate,just say you don't rate Ajayi which is normal cuz we all have players we don't rate.

I find it incredible how nobody on this forum is hyping for the inclusion of Nathan Tella in the Super Eagles. Going by form, this boy is playing as well as any of our wingers in Europe right now. Apart from Chukwueze and Lookman, he is playing for the highest-profile club and league. This boy should definitely be in the next Super Eagles list. A very versatile player.

Who said the bolded? Besides everybody that has defended Ajayi used Nigeria's team performances at the Afcon and not his own individual merits which is interesting

My submission is that ability trumps experience everytime and we have young and capable defenders who are ready to take the mantle and that does not mean Ajayi should be discarded

Only Benjamin Frederick was well tested and trusted,others are yet to cement their places,till they prove it.

Ajayi is usually shaky, very jittery and a turn over machine. Very susceptible to making schoolboy errors. You guys have forgotten so soon just because he miraculously tapped one in today?

With Benjy and Nwaiwu in my team, I wouldn't pick Ajayi to partner General Bassey.

Sir,even in subset,he wasn't the worst,eagles had good Afcon,match duration the team didn't lose a single match,the word worst even in subset was wrong for only Nigeria defender that won MOTM in Afcon.

The four back performance was solid,so nothing like worse performance from the four,even Osayi that came late to the party during knockout stages did extremely well,I remember here some wanted him out for Ryan Alebiosun and I said the RB for now belonged to Osayi.

As you said we have good depth in CB,and with Nwaiwu,Ogbu and Fernandez we're covered,more are still emerging....Ajayi will fizzled out like his old colleagues Balogun and Ekong.

Ajayi was decent and his goal against Tanzania (in the group stage) was earned him the motm accepted, but you forgot he was poor in the final against Morocco and you cannot compare his performances to Osayi Samuel through the tournament especially against Algeria in the quarterfinal or Bruno, I'm sure we would have had a better chance against Morocco with a better ball player in Frederick instead of him

Thank goodness you are not the Super Eagles coach. All that I am seeing here is an emotional outburst because Semi Ajayi scored a lucky tap-in goal. Eric Chelle knows that when everybody is fit, his starting centrebacks are Calvin Bassey and Benjamin Federicks.

Semi Ajayi and Emmanuel Fernandez are currently the backup players. However, Semi Ajayi's future in the Super Eagles seems uncertain. While I have a certain appreciation for Semi Ajayi and believe he is a competent player, it is evident that those vying for his position are simply more skilled and better than him. Chibuike Nwaiwu is vying for that backup right-centerback position that Ajayi currently occupies.

Chibuike Nwaiwu is significantly more talented than Semi Ajayi. Bayer Leverkusen bid 20 million pounds for him, but Trabzonspor turned it down. Fulham made a bid close to 30 million pounds, and they also rejected that. There are reports coming out of Italy that Roma is inquiring about him. I saw him play for Trtabzonspour a couple of days ago, and I can confidently say this boy will be a 50-plus million-pound defender in two years.

He excels in aerial situations, is composed with the ball at his feet, and has the ability to advance the play effectively. I thought to myself, "I understand why Trabzonspor is reluctant to sell him at this time. Semi Ajayi is not a poor player; it's just that more talented individuals are coming to the forefront.
