Vicotex: It hasn't even been a full 24 hours since OBI and Kwankwaso made the significant decision to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and already we are witnessing a dramatic shift in the political landscape. The Alternative Democratic Congress (ADC) has reportedly lost more than 9 million members in response to this development, which underscores the impact these high-profile defections have on party dynamics. In the midst of this tumultuous situation, we are confronted with individuals who are now resorting to nonsensical babbling in an apparent attempt to mitigate the damage that has resulted from these events. It's quite disheartening to see such reactions, as they seem to reflect a desperate effort to regain some semblance of control in a rapidly changing political environment. Haha 9 million just defected like that, una too dey lie |

TheSuperNerd: Zadok and AIK react to claims winger has been named in Nigeria squad for Unity Cup
Zadok Yohanna and AIK sporting director Miika Takkula have responded to reports in the Nigerian media claiming the teenage winger has been named in the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 Unity Cup.
It had been suggested that the highly sought-after forward received an official invitation from the Nigeria Football Federation ahead of the tournament at The Valley, but both Zadok and Takkula have dismissed the claims.
Nigeria manager Eric Chelle is rumored to be monitoring the youngster, who has played fewer than 18 senior matches since turning professional, despite being eligible for both the Flying Eagles and Olympic Eagles.
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of AIK's brightest prospects following an impressive start to life in Stockholm, registering eight goal involvements (5 goals, 3 assists) in 17 appearances across all competitions since his arrival last summer.
Zadok and Takkula insist that no contact has yet been made with the Nigerian Federation.
"It's not official yet, I don't know ... I've seen it on social media, but I don't know," Zadok told Sportbladet.
When asked whether he had been approached by the Nigeria Football Federation, he added:: "No, not yet. But I hope they call me."
A potential call-up for the Unity Cup, which is not part of the Fifa international match calendar, could see Zadok miss key AIK matches, including an away derby against Hammarby and a home clash with league leaders Sirius.
"It's not up to me, it's up to the club. If I get selected but AIK says I'm going to stay, I'll stay, there's no problem," Zadok said.
Clarifying the club's position, AIK's sports director Miika Takkula said: " I have heard the rumors but I have not received any official contact from their federation. We will see if it comes and if so, take it from there.
"First of all, we have to wait for contact from the Nigeria Football Federation and then see what the situation looks like. But it is only speculation."
Zadok's goal in the ninth minute salvaged a point for AIK in their 1-1 draw against IF Elfsborg on Sunday.

Lanruze: Its in good order to say the Presidential Elections in 2027 will mark a new, interesting & significant chapter.
The Chances of Peter Obi & Kwankwanso ticket just gained additional traction with 30% more probability and thats with the move to join NDC.
1, PO's mantra and his last campaign of not giving shi-shi especially in the Party Primaries resonates with so many youths and moral Nigerians. Corruption is Nigeria's biggest problem.
2, PO knows and has been well advised that he remains the biggest "Target" of the ruling party. As such had kept the last card close to his chest whilst retaining and expanding his Obidents followership.
3, Peter Obi as stand-alone candidate with a fluent and respectable hausa speaking Kwankwaso will make geniue in-roads in the NE & NW whilst recruiting loyal Party agents in the core-north through Kwankwanso's reach and spread.
4, An Atiku on the ballot will be a disadvantage for NC votes. The killings in the NC escalated since the Buhari regime as such a Fulani Man in power is a no-no for the Middle Belt and PO retains his large cult-like Christian base he enjoyed in 2023.
5,The core North resent PBAT for Nasir-Elrufai, the US sokoto Bombing and Malami. They gave PBAT 60% of his votes. Take it or leave it Nasir-El Rufai will be the most suitable fulani man for Presidency not Atiku. Thats 2031 not next year.
Without rigging & manipulation, PBAT will be reduced to a Regional Candidate (SW). Haha see political analyst...did I heard you PBAT reduced to Regional candidate abi no be Tinubu you dey talk about?una go just dey amuse person.... election never started una dey shout rigging rigging like rigging tone....Oga just take your PVC and vote for your candidate |

BascoVanVeli: This should not even be a hot take. He has done enough to regain his spot. If he has done enough to regain his spot, based on his stats then Sadiq Umar and Taiwo Awoniyi should get a look in too,for Unity Cup since our A list players will not be available. |

Meliforme: It is so sad to remark that Calvin Bassey's defending is not yet Elite. Good defending is not all about duels.
Positioning, good anticipation, are all components of good defending.
Alex Iwobi may not bring much to defending, but this Fulham team is missing the stability, coordination and creativity that he offers. Just a game off now poor positioning, bad anticipation....Oga,Calvin Bassey of this season has good positioning, very good ianticipation and reason why he is highly rated in Fulham or abi not the same Bassey of Afcon |

TheSuperNerd: I believe that is why he said "form". He meant Okonkwo's form in the last 2 games or so before Ward began benching him. The 5-1 loss vs Southampton - Committed error that led to a goal.
The 2-0 loss vs Birmingham - Committed another error that led to a goal.
That was back to back. His form in those games definitely saw Wrexham slip up in the battle for 6th place. Thank you for the clarification |

Okoye now has 9 Serie A Cleansheets. Way more than the 4 cleansheets he kept in 2024/25, and 5 he kept in 2023/24.
Infact, his 9 cleansheets this season (25/26) is the combined sum he had for the last 2 seasons (24/25 & 23/24) in Serie A. It shows that Okoye has improved tremendously |

AMINDA: No. Tinubu lost Lagos and the entire South to Obi, winning only 4 Yoruba states out of 17 Southern states. He became president because the North bailed him out with 5.6m votes. He would have been toast. Hmm,North indeed, very hype region that used military rules to deceive us,This is democracy that produced Obasanjo,GEJ and now Tinubu,so keep on living in the past. |

Saladdin: Nigerians are hoping that this'll be the makeup in 2027:
1. ADC: Atiku & Makinde 2. APC: Tinubu & maybe Dogara 3. NDC: Obi/Kwankwaso.
Should this fly, trust me, a certain person will come third Atiku and Obi on ballots again then Tinubu is winning with ease, repetition of 2023 again |
Politics › Re: Kwankwaso convenes stakeholder meeting, set to join NDC - PoliticsDigest by Kog45(m): 9:01pm On May 01 |
AMINDA: All I see is fear disguised as confidence. This ticket will effectively kill the "turn of the South" campaign mantra. If this materialises, the probability of Tinubu emerging third as predicted by Elrufai may be a reality. Obi/Kwankwaso will be a solid ticket and with the right momentum, will sweep Tinubu away in the South. Unlike in 2023 when the North provided him with 5.6m votes as buffer after being defeated by Obi in Lagos, Tinubu will see a greater chunk of his 2023 Northern votes going to Atiku with the rest mopped up by OK. Even the middlebelt Tinubu thinks he has flipped is dicey and might slip out his fingers if he repeats the muslim-muslim ticket.
Meanwhile, Atiku picking a Seyi Makinde as Vice will mean states like Oyo, Osun (Aregbesola and LG funds factor) and Lagos are up for grabs. Tinubu is not as popular in the Southwest as his lackeys like to pretend and resorting to tribal rethorics to galvanise his base in Lagos like we saw in 2023 will further shut him out in the rest of the South. Daydreamer, imagine Tinubu will comes third...Tinubu is not popular in South West...I just don't know why you guys keep on deceiving yourself with lies abi no be the same Atiku,Kwankwaso,Makinde, Aregbesola and Obi of Nigeria politics you're talking about.... |
