safarigirl:Dele mother unfortunately had issues with alcohol addiction resulting in the children being removed from her care and going into social services foster care with a white family. Meanwhile his Father had left his mother and really wasn't there to take his children as a result they ended up in care, this a very traumatic experience for a child, many do not survive the experience. And for a Father to be alive and allow his children to be taken into care is simply UNACCEPTABLE and such fathers i am sorry are just the pits. Any child would quite understandably be very bitter towards the Father that abandoned him , it will take grace to overcome and forgive. Dele is closer to his white foster family as a result. His story is a blessed one, i have seen children become totally messed up after suffering abuse all types and disconnection from family, they become suicidal, drug addicts, prostitution and sexual deviancy are normal to them with zero self esteem. ITS REALLY THAT BAD. |
safarigirl:Where ? |
dragon2:Thank you very much We are sending our sons , Fathers, brothers and Uncles into a killing zone with multiple threats in the back of soft skinned trucks, Big yellow 25 ton Dumpster trucks, soft skinned pick ups. We do not have enough of anything we essentially need everything we do not even have a definitive IFV in our inventory. Our ability to project over distances is very limited our supply chain logistics is very poor, 3 c-130's and 5 utility heave lift helicopters MI-8. Then in 2018 somebody has a brain wave a wonderful bright idea, lets buy 12 A29 turboprop aircraft that will not be delivered until in completion until 2024 indeed we will not get the first aircraft until 2020+. Meanwhile it is only going to cost the paltry sum of $600 million. With that sum of money i would have Boko technically defeated and rendered impotent within 2 months as well as address issues of strategic regional projection. I would use ingenious procurement to have a duplicity of multiple armoured vehicle platforms and that includes MBT, APC, definitive IFV's, MRAP and the desperately needed LAV IN excess of 1500 units. What does it cost to procure precision assault rifles with optic sights as standard, NVG, as well as all round communications infrastructure. The bold is a muddled cacophony of ideas without substance and or direction. How many drones did the NAF procure including the debacle of the Israeli drones ![]() Look at our peers when procurement is being made it is done in hundreds not pieces of ten that will make no impact. For instance we bought a number of Chinese MBT and light tanks , what is the total number from what i gather not more than 25, that is a drop in the ocean, it is simply not enough. Finally, how much is a toyota light skinned gun truck and how much is a used eastern block BTR 80 APC, not particularly outstanding but a lot better than being in the back of a pick up truck in a kill zone. |
Toju200:You are so caught up in your misguided idea of patriotism which really is denial of fault and or incompetence, but present the sub standard as excellent, that is the enthronement of mediocrity. You do the nation a disservice when you cannot criticize constructively and sweep all faults under the carpet. That is essentially SYCOPHANCY of which you have become the chief proponent. Your first response is to cast aspersions and denigrate the competency of the Ugandan air force, you make no strategic regional comparison and our lack of strategic far reaching air superiority attack aircraft such as the SU-30. But you go even further when you don't even consider the regional threats posed by multiple nations who could essentially wipe out our air force in a day. You then conclude we are getting the JF-17, that counters all potential threats, sorry that is a joke. Which country serious about air superiority will be buying Pakistani fighter aircraft. The NAF have 15 Mi 24/ 35 Attack helicopters Sudan has 43, The NAF has 5 MI-8 large military helicopters Angola has 66, and we are the one fighting on multiple fronts. The NAF has 13 Alpha jets and 8 FN-7 , how many of these China copied Mig 21's are operational, I read here about a number of them requiring major maintenance, apart from that they have been far less reliable than the much older Alpha jets. It is as plain as DAYLIGHT the NAF is completely over stretched and does not have required aircraft for the job. From all the you have said in your mind this is adequate lets hail PMB . |
Juchii:Our airforce is stupendously outdated and ineffective by comparison to our peers in Africa. Our comparative peers are Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Angola all of thier airforces will simply blow us away like dust. However, countries like Ethiopia, Sudan, Morocco Uganda, who are not on par with us, will also leave us for dead, particularly Sudan that's in our strategic zone of sorts. Has the capacity to strike us very badly without us having the capability to respond. Uganda has SU30 and Ethiopia SU27 we are buying 3 Pakistani JF- 17 and some people here are commending our top brass and PMB. Such are the depths of mediocrity we have sunk too. |
giles14:First of all we don't have time to wait for 2 years. Every day you delay there someone son, father, brother and or Uncle that will die. You don't begin to carry out testing in the middle of a war we are fighting on too many fronts. You buy existing platforms tried and tested and available NOW. What we are paying for limited functionality and sift skinned pick up trucks innoson( Chinese) and toyoya gun trucks. Will get us far better LAV'S that are fit for purpose and used APC's and IFV's from the eastern block, HERE and NOW Then what's the comparative cost of our own very limited supply of MRAP'S and Light Armoured vehicles. |
GabrielYulaw:It's as obvious as daylight why we get bloodied at ambush. We just don't have the right response strategy as well as the right fit for purpose armoured fighting vehicles. Maybe until just very recently the NA did not have a definitive IFV in its inventory until very very recently. But the numbers are so insignificant it makes little or no difference. Boko is a rag tag army that has limited resources but we are struggling with. WHY. This war could be effectively over in one month with right investment and strategic well thought out procurement of fit for purpose equipment. |
phazotron:VERY POSSIBLE. The term full coverage is not neccesarily literal it's strategic coverage. You cover points on interest, contention taking cognisance of enemy potential targets. An appreciation of approach channels. A UAV with ISTAR gives you, overwatch, very long endurance and precision strikes at the enemy. That over watch MUST BE COMPLEMENTED with a fast and able offensive response. With NA units on the ground. Not the defensive posture that we seem to be predominantly taking. That |
Faithful007:Without understanding the circumstances prior you cannot with self birthed conceited indignation make a judgement of condemnation. That vehicle is not fit for purpose indeed 80%+ of the vehicle the NA are using are not fit for purpose. That vehicle looks like a recovery vehicle with troops loaded on top. I am sure they would have complained incessantly. And been told "obey the command" and ignored and if they say anymore it becomes insubordination. Just the same way we were ferrying troops into the war Killin zone in the back of big yellow dumpster truck ( Madness). Or course it was hit and the deadly devastating results well known. Experience is not knowledge and longevity is not innovation. I have watched the delivery model of the NA and it needs renewing. |
Salatavor: Thank you very much, AGREED WITHOUT RESERVATION OR QUESTION ❓ . Our expectations are so low our self esteem on the floor. That we now commend mediocrity as excellence. How debased is it compare ourselves to the small countries in Ecowas. Nigerias population alone probably exceeds the population of the entire sub region. Our strategic projection requires that we should be playing big brother in the sub region and beyond. Because otherwise it eventually impacts on us negatively. France and the EU are in our Sub region because we FAILED to play the role we should have. Now Boko and it's affiliates are running wild in our Sub region. And we call ourselves the giant of Africa. |
Whyem15:The term Ambush is not synonymous with defeat. "No be who first report to police de win case" When you go into a an area of contention you are expecting contact as well as possible ambush. The only thing is you don't know when. On the other hand depending on your strategic approach. For instance on search and destroy missions. The hunter Boko can become the hunted. In this regard getting ambushed is not the problem it's but how you respond to it. You need to make a demarcation between an IED and or Suicide bombs attack and an ambush. US and allied forces casualties were predominantly by IED and or suicide bomb attack not ambushes in excess of 65%. Since the start of the Afghanistan war there have been over 3000 allied deaths. But align that statistic to number of IED and Suicide bomb incidents each year in excess of 15,000. Now link that to the number of deaths each year in Afghanistan and allied deaths since 2001 almost 20 years. On average that's about 150 casualties each year, from 15,000 incidents. The Taliban have not been overly successful with thier ambush attacks on allied forces. Because in most cases allied forces will turn the tables and respond to the detriment of Taliban insurgents. The reason why Boko are seemingly having a devastating effect with thier ambushes are pretty much obvious. |
do4luv14:You really do not know his story. His Nigerian father had been missing in action throughout his life. He was brought up by his Jamaican step Father. That should give you some insight before you make wild assumptions. |
safarigirl:I am still waiting for the write up on the " off topic" Nigeria girls fixation with mixed race guys. |
Danielnino00:Quite recently people were questioning the validity of MRI in determining age All because Ndidi is involved. IMO if the man is from a underprivileged background that will most likely equate to being malnourished and therefore stunted growth which means his bones will not have fused. He may still pass the MRI. |
Joebie:Imagine a situation where our National U17 team went for an international tournament in Europe. And they were all offered juicy contracts in high paying football clubs. But the proviso was that the must change allegiance to different European nations. My estimation is that 50% will change allegation there and then. LOL Yet we get angry with players who have zero affinity with Nigeria and are even mixed race with little input from thier Nigerian Fathers in thier lives. |
Jasparrow1:He is a Nigerian he can only play for Nigeria. |
Jasparrow1:First of all he is TOTALLY ruled out of any academy system in Europe top 20 leagues. He should be playing first team football and his best springboard for getting to Europe is national youth team selection. It's implied that he is very good. |
Danielnino00:Everything about Billing playing for the SE seems to be hearsay and over stated speculation. Unless you have a clear statement from him saying he wants to play for Nigeria. Which we simply don't have. Saying he deh take us play "Ludo " is unfair and not true. The NFF may have approached but we don't know if they did and the the substance of that contact if Indeed there was any in the first place. |
LTGEN:When there was a clear and obvious gap 2014 or thereabouts and there still is a huge gap in infrastructure and fit for purpose equipment in the NA. Procurement was made and BMP1 and other armoured vehicles and equipment air lifted straight to the SE. You are in war that need assets here and now not tomorrow. |
Eta22seconds:Made in Nigeria or made in Alaska it is totally inconsequential. What gives me satisfaction is seeing NA combatants in the best fit for purpose armoured vehicles that keeps them safe, protected and able to respond with devastating effect against the enemy. |
Kabe2:I have said this before the first casualty of war is the TRUTH. Fake news and propaganda have always been part of the antics of war. However, you cannot hide the truth from those right in the heart of it. We can hype the COAS as many are doing here and say PMB is doing a great job. But the soldiers on the battlefield on the ground not only know the truth but painfully feel it with the blood they spill each day. And many here will rather adopt the spin than face the truth. And speaking the truth makes you unpatriotic and a traitor to some. |
phazotron:Agreed without question. |
Subzero047:Dembele has been on the radar of many clubs for the past few years. From when he was a teenager at Fulham he was the best U18 striker l have seen then. He went to Celtic even refused a £50 million January transfer to Chelsea, very wisely yo keep his career on track and long term development over immediate gratification. |
andrewbaba44:Not just Obasi knows but anybody who has inkling about Nigerian football knows that. |
Danielnino00:I am not sure how you deduce what you have written in the bold. And we may have alternatives but better that's a different debate. |
daveP:You are being overly sentimental and your exaggeration is way over the top. |
Joebie:Billing commitment to Nigeria was very doubtful to me. In all honesty this guy has zero affinity with Nigeria. There are black guys who are black and there are some who are essentially coconut, black on the outside but totally white on the inside. When l met Solanke it was apparent that he had zero affinity with Nigeria and l made it clear that he had no interest in the first place and he wasn't good enough in the second instance. However, l remember speaking to Bobby Adekanya and l thought l could speak to him and loose him with my basic Yoruba. But this kid could speak Yoruba fluently and complete floored me. He always identified with Nigeria 100%. The same with Ovie 100% committed ages ago although he no fit speak Uhrobo but he deh try uh small then use basic pidgin cover. Eze will play for Nigeria just a matter of time. |
Joebie:Lol |
andrewbaba44:Yet this confirmed hooligan and racist violent thug could get a job as a football manager immediately. When black players with all thier top level credentials have not even smelled an interview in decades. |
Jasparrow1:Money and connection has nothing to do with it. But his age, ability and his current CV, is he playing for the national youth team. |
Tobiloba2407:Why are German car manufacturers so good it has taken them over a century to have attained this level of excellent quality control, reliability and performance. That experiential knowledge added to R & D coupled with the WW2 experience gives them that ability top produce to quality products military or civilian. That in itself creates organisational culture where excellence is never compromised. Then somebody thinks that we can plonk a steel cabin on top of a chassis and heh presto we have a world class MRAP, it simply doesn't work like that. I mentioned my concerns about the Ezeugo quite some time ago. |
charlesemeka85:Any good coach will adapt his team either a reflection of the players he has. There are two levels of comparison AFCON and World cup. The quality required for AFCON zis different from the World Cup. With regards to the world cup teams that win and progress to the Finals will have at least 4 world class players. How many world class players do we have❓ In the first instance. And you want to play attacking football hmmm |
