That is a respectful gesture by the nation of Senegal. Nigeria and some other West African nations should offer similar gestures.

You are right that he was trying to highlight why he would be accepted but I don't know if it was a poor choice of words because what other kind of words he could have used say what he did. I am going to try and say what he did in a very Politically Correct Way:

Obama has a good chance because he has a lighter complexion among AAs and he doesn't use African American Vernacular English unless he wants to.

I even think that would still have caused an uproar.

Yeah, it would of caused an uproar from some but it is a valid statement that used appropriate language. I don't think Mr.Reid is that culturally educated.

Will is 100% black on both sides. Don't get it twisted. That's like saying, Beyince's sister is mulatto because her son had blkue eyes, and wavy hair (which he did when he was younger)

Beyonce is African American but here ancestry is not similar to most African Americans as she has heavy white and native american ancestry. The latter comes from her mothers side whom is creole(French,African, native american) and ).

I really don't understand the topic, is it because igbos make up the majority of Nigerians in America? If so then fair enough.

But Africom is a move by the US empire to mobilize it's power and influence due to the frail situation in the middle east and other super powers like China, Japan,etc having dips in Africa's resources.

I'd advise Nigerians and anyone else not to join the army. Sure, it can make life easier by getting all the freebies that come with joining the army, but sometimes you have to think about the consequences of
you actions and the morality of the issue.

An Indian and a black women. Hmmmm, anything can work but it will not come without it's hurdles. I was reading a few weeks ago that India was named the most "racist" country in the world,  they even have separate train cars for women in new Delhi(nytimes article i read a month or so ago) because the men sexually harass women frequently.

Posted in the magazine as if it were normal and valid. But the crowd doesn't define the individual, so if you really love this guy and think there will be some benefit to marrying him in the long term, go through with it.

Which English Pidgin? English pidgin comes from  English/European powers whom colonized enslaved, dominated financially/political others. African American Vernacular is just short of a pidgin. It contains many grammatical, words, and linguistically features of African language systems. Haitians and Jamaicans speak actual pidgins like Nigerians.

I.E no nyami(to eat) pussy, Or the word Yam originated from West Africa slaves in America.
