Hello All, I would like to know if you would be asked to make any payment at DHL if you are requested after your interview to submit some extra document and your passport to DHL? |
Yes you can use any of them address, but preferably use the sponsors address or joint sponsor whichever the case. sirgigs: |
You don't have to. When you are invited to start start your process, you would be asked to upload it on the portal. If there is a need for you to send anything, they would inform you. challawa: |
Hello have you heard any response from NVC? Please who else is in the house with completed case complete, with a current priority date waiting on interview letter from NVC? Lets see how many people are still pending. baydok:On another news Trump is trying to pass another immigration law to congress to approve. https://www.path2usa.com/blog/kushners-new-immigration-reform-plan-to-support-h1-b-visa-holders |
Hello I want to believe you completed yours via the online portal, all communication is going to be through that portal and email, if they require some more information they would update the portal and your email as well. I know this because my brother(F4) is currently in the same situation and it was different from mine (F1). He uploaded all the document requested and when they needed more information or one document was not clear they made a request for more information through the same portal, that would stand/replace the checklist they usually send to those in the other process. It does not hurt to call, but I believe they would tell you everything you need is on that portal, my brother is currently waiting for interview letter from them because his priority (Jan 2006) is current at the moment, I tracked his case on ceac website and it says still at NVC. There must be some kind of delay at the Nigerian Embassy because they update NVC when they have available slot for interview date. baydok: |
richhills:It only makes sense for you to use the petitioners details or anyone acting as a joint sponsor, because technically they are the people that have agreed to take care of you through out the process and guarantee you would not be lacking when you arrive in the U.S. I don't know if you can use anyone else but I just believe it makes more sense that way. You would also want to use an address that you can be rest assured that your document would get there in one piece. Those document are sensitive information and they take them very serious here. |
yinkaa2015:It won't be so long, you can keep checking your profile and they would email when it is approved as well. My brother also added his wife and kids to his own application and it was not long before they responded. |
ringofGod:Hello got your email today. You would need your vaccination records, if you don't have one you would need to do a new one. Wizplynfrosh:A permanent residence can petition for his/her spouse and children only. |
Did you guys pay 116,000 each or together. If it was together how much did you for your daughter and yourself. wendiescakes: |
To be on the safe side I believe you should send all parties passport and you should just identify who the Applicant is and who the derivatives applicants are. AndreMarley: |
Yes she can come in get her green card and other documents and return to Nigeria but she is not supposed to be out of the country(U.S) for more than 6 month. So as long as she is going to return back before 6 month she is fine. samnijazz: |
Hello everyone, it's been a while. Happy New Year!!! You might be on hold for now cos the embassy is currently affected by the government shut down. So till the government re-opens things would take a slow course right now. Marvin23:https://punchng.com/thousands-of-nigerians-to-miss-visa-appointments-as-us-embassy-closes-indefinitely/amp/ |
Hi guys, its been a while. Wanted to give a little update, I waited for 3 weeks to get my SSN but it didn't come through so I went to their office to apply again. You can verify the address they have of you at the port of entry so you would be sure they have the right address to mail your social security number to. As regards medicals, if you dont have immunisation records they would charge you for that depending on the hospital its mandatory. I know its a long wait, but just be a patience my people it would all be worth it. As per career you can start looking at what you would like to do while you wait. For me I switched to I.T and it payed off cos its in high demand here so put that in mind while you wait. |
Thank you for taking out the time to reply. LagosNIV: |
Hello VO, Please I would appreciate if you help me look into this. Thanks koolkesh: |
honharr:I believe with the court affidavit you will be fine. But just like @prettychi also said you can also pose your question to the VO on that thread. |
koolkesh:Please house I'd appreciate your contributions, questions and advise. |
honharr:I believe with a court affidavit and a reason for the change I think you would be fine. But whats the change like a overall change or using your middle name as first name? Because in my case I started using my middle name as written in my birth certificate as my first name in all other documents, school, passport e.t.c which was really not a biggie. If you can share the change we can have a better perspective of what you are talking about. |
Good day house, I have been going through the thread but considering its a very long thread I decided to ask my question, because I did not see my question amongst the ones I have read and your help would be greatly appreciated. Preamble: I am applying for a masters program in The University of North Carolina Wilmington (if anyone know about the school I'd appreciate a little feedback). The course I am applying for does not require GRE (It is written on the school website and an email from the school also confirms this). I am currently working with the federal government. Questions: 1. Please my parent intend to sponsor my Masters program, but does the bank statement I need to present show all the money for tuition and living expense? or I can submit other supporting document like assets proofing they are more than capable? 2. Is it advantage to state that I know someone in the state the school I am applying in is or it is a disadvantage? 3. Do foreign student easily get financial aid? 4. Any advise on what to state to support the reason for the school one chooses would be highly appreciated. I'd appreciate any input giving. Many thanks. |
Good day VO, Is it compulsory for an applicant's sponsor's bank statement to contain the full sum for the tuition, fees and living expense? or can the applicant also provide other documents showing assets owned by sponsor to proof financial capability? Is it an advantage for an applicant to state he/she has friends (boyfriend/girlfriend) in the states where the school is? considering this person is a Legal Permanent Resident? I read in a different thread that writing a standardized test is compulsory to aiding you get your visa, even if the course you applying for does not require one (for example the course you applying for does not require you to write GRE but they require you to write TOEFL or IELTS alone) Is this true or not? I would appreciate your professional advise on this. Many thanks. |

Thanks again. The preference is given to elderly people. There are seats but the seats are not much. |
pretty16:Thanks everyone. It was successful. Got there on time, got on the queue, filed up inside after giving each us numbers. They returned document that they had in their custody. (Remember I told you guys my original birth certificate was with them, and I did declaration of age and the original was with them and I had no photocopy. It was not even an issue because they did not even ask me for anything.) After that, it was biometric. Then the interview. Questions: 1. Who petition for you 2. What does your mum do? 3. How many siblings do you have in the U.S 4. Where do you live? 5. Have you live somewhere else? 6. Are you married? 7. Do you have any kid? 8. Gave me a form to declare that if I should get married before I enter the U.S my visa would null and void. 9. Gave me a form about paying for my greencard before leaving. 10. Told me my passport would ne ready in 10 working days. Was there from 6:30am to 9:50am. It was tiring. Thanks again for the good wishes, yours would come soon By His Grace. P.S word of advise wear comfortable shoes. |
Oladeep:Saw this earlier as well, this things happens. when is your PD again? |
Oladeep:Yes P4 letter is the same as interview letter. I got mine on the 2nd of Dec. The guy I posted his interview questions got notification that his passport was ready on 22nd of Dec the next day after his interview. Compliment of the season everyone. Chicksy:Please what category are you all under? F1? All would be well after the DNA, By His Grace. |
Oladeep:On the 24th of January. |
A Nigerian on VJ had his interview recently and he posted the question they asked him at the interview, I just thought I'd share his experience here as well. "Interview concluded. Visa Approved. Lagos Nigeria. I was scheduled for 6:30am, and I was pretty much done at 9am. Interview lasted about 2 mins. Questions asked were: Whos filing for you? Ans: My Dad. Tell me about your dad, like what does he do? How long has he been in the US? How often do you talk to him? What medium do you guys use to communicate? When last was he in Nigeria? Visa was granted afterwards. No document was checked. Finally, my 7 year wait is over. Wow Thank God." |
