Since I started writing on the above topic, I have been inundated with very encouraging text messages. I even got a most surprising text from a lady in her early forties who has never kissed a guy, least of all had sex because of a vow she made to God. Amazing!

Temilolu, your assertion that good parents are expected to give good attention to the welfare of their children in sex-related issues is correct. Chastity, that great virtue, is a rare subject of discussion these days. But the truth remains, only a lie requires improvised legs to stand. Truth is its own defence. And truth is timeless. Many innocent ones have been deceived and ridiculed into submitting to wrong demands. No one likes to be ridiculed. The great damage that pre-marital sex does to one’s destiny can’t be over-emphasised. I am based in Ikirun and I am introducing your column to the youth. This is your calling.

 J.O. Olaifa, 65

Quite frankly, the effect pre-marital sex has on girls at times is so painful and humiliating and this is obviously very unfair. There are so many girls who dabbled into sex just for experimenting, some for being adventurous and some because they never knew anything about it. Some listen to their peers talk about it in class and they are so bothered, they want to know what it is all about and how it feels. Some experience it by being raped or cajoled into it. Because of our parents’ failure to exercise their responsibility, so many girls have destroyed their wombs, so many of them have been labelled “dogs.” Fine, we agree that our parents play a role in this but I think we also need to address ourselves “girls.” We would get to that point in the next edition.

 Dear girls,

As designed by God, your virginity is the bedrock of your destiny. It is your spiritual beauty. It carries the star, potential and talent which God created with you to make you unique. It is the star in your sky. Please don’t pollute your destiny. The world is waiting for your star to shine! Your curiosity about sex and the way your body feels is normal. However, there’s so much you need to know which may eventually condition your mind and calm your desires. For now, DON’T dabble into it please.

To be continued.

Our Chibok sisters, we are shocked you are still in captivity but we believe in the power of God to set you free from your captors.

 FINAL WORD

Chastity does not belong to the past. It saves you a lot of trouble, preserves your beautiful destiny and stands you out from the crowd. You are better off not engaging in pre-marital sex. Stay chaste!

Allohrandy: like I said before, we lost that game due to injuries and silly mistakes from our players. France did not score any goal due to their players effort but error from yobo and Enyama
The French team made more mistakes than we did but we had no goal to our credit! undecided

Allohrandy: Bro, In Football it matters to work with good players. No matter how good a coach is. he cant win the world cup with a team fill of mediocre players. our team is filled with average players and most of them don't play first team football.
But judging from what they played against France it's obvious they could have won that game init?
Politics › Oshiomole Sets Aside Competency Test And Recalls 936 Earlier Sacked Teachers? by korel9(op): 7:00am On Jul 04, 2014
I just heard on the news now that the governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole, has just "set aside" the earlier scheduled competency test for teachers in his state.
He gave no genuine reason saying it was to "ensure that the best hands are engaged in handling the educational sector (paraphrased)" in the state.

Has he just succombed to pressure or is this just another political move? undecided undecided undecided

Allohrandy: what would you have done differently if you were the coach? The truth is that the French players are far better than our current players. we don't even have any world class player in our squad. kechi tried his best with the current players he had to work with.
Believe me bro, it doesn't take "world class" players to produce a good result in football these days (ask Spain). You don't want to hear what he should have done.

Sports › Re: Does Keshi Deserve To Be Retained As The Super Eagles Coach? by korel9(op): 6:17am On Jul 04, 2014
Allohrandy: we played well against France. we lost that game due to injuries and silly errors. We don't lose the game due to kechi coaching tactical errors. besides France would beat coastarica if they meet.
Did you watch the match with France or you were just told the result? The French team played below expectation which gave the Eagles better control of the game.
A good coach would have read d game and figure out the missing link before losing. I swear I would have won that game by 3-0 as the Eagles coach if I had taken over from the 2nd half.
It wasn't as if we lost chances that we would have attributed the loss to a no luck thing. A good coach studies a game, rises from his bench, makes some tactical changes and wins the game.
Sports › Re: Does Keshi Deserve To Be Retained As The Super Eagles Coach? by korel9(op): 12:37am On Jul 04, 2014
padeolu: Definitely not. But what else was excepted of him that he didn't do? It wasn't asif anyone expected him to win the world cup. He won the AFCON, 2nd round of world cup; isn't that enough to earn him a contract extension?
Not when you have a team like Costarica making the quarter final stage
Sports › Re: Does Keshi Deserve To Be Retained As The Super Eagles Coach? by korel9(op): 9:42pm On Jul 03, 2014
padeolu: Yes, he deserve to be retained (offered a contract extension), though its obvious he's a "substandard" manager.
Do we continue to pay him that much for being a substandard coach?
Sports › Re: Does Keshi Deserve To Be Retained As The Super Eagles Coach? by korel9(op): 9:41pm On Jul 03, 2014
Allohrandy: yes. kechi is the best Nigerian coach ever. he should be retain till after the next world cup
I tend to disagrEe with you. Apart from few games, how well have the eagles played under him?
Sports › Re: Does Keshi Deserve To Be Retained As The Super Eagles Coach? by korel9(op): 8:27pm On Jul 03, 2014
Tocheagle: Definately he needs to be retained . And not all the players are bad
This isn't about the players but about his ability to deliver with a convincing performance. Football is more than just assembling players to play.
Sports › Does Keshi Deserve To Be Retained As The Super Eagles Coach? by korel9(op): 7:59pm On Jul 03, 2014
Just read in a thread that made front page

https://www.nairaland.com/1797663/nff-offers-keshi-n168-million

that NFF is offering Keshi a new contract worth #168 million for two years.

To me it's baffling considering the poor performance of his selected boys (leaving behind better players even after being forced to pick a player that turned out to be his best asset) in the world cup.

He may have won the nations cup and qualified us for the world cup, let's not forget that these feats, he achieved, putting all football loving Nigerians on their toes.

So the question is "Does he deserve a second chance with even so much an incentive"? angry

When Afro-pop singer, Adokiye declared she was avirgin in a chat with Vanguard’s Potpourrirecently, many thought she couldpossibly be the last of the virgins in the Nigerian entertainment industry. But it seems there are others, at least one other, as another entertainer, Seyi Hunter has come out to declare she is a virgin as well.
A Performing Arts, Industrial and Labour Relations’graduate from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Seyi, born of an Igbo father and Akwa-Ibom mother, started out her career in the Yoruba sector and has since featured in close to twenty films in both Yoruba and English language movies.

Nairaland General › Let's Appreciate And Acknowledge by korel9(op): 10:35am On Jan 01, 2014
2013 has come and gone. To some it has been a year they will never want to recall while to some it has been a memorable year.
For those who it was memorable for there must have been one or two persons who made it memorable.
It's time to appreciate and acknowledge those people.
For me, funny enough they are my ex (Mercy) and my HOD (Hajia Jumai S.).

Who is/are yours?

Nonso23: Who hurts more is the same person that loved more during the course of the relationship. It doesn't depend on gender.
This explains very much how I feel.
Nice one bro.

Lionbite: It depends on who broke the relationship, if its the girl then the guy will probably be the victim and vice-versa
Thanks for your response but in this case I did but I still hurt the more.
Romance › Who Hurts More After A Breakup? by korel9(op): 4:52pm On Dec 29, 2013
I just broke up with my girl of close to two years. I figured out settling down with her would spell doom for us so I put it out straight to her. I gave her many window periods to see if she would change but it was obvious she wouldn't.
We broke up on the 26th of this month and it went pretty ugly.
I have been pained with my actions but she never helped matters on that day.
She travelled that same day (the trip had nothing to do with the breakup) and since I haven't been myself as all efforts to apologise for how badly I treated her ON THAT DAY proved abortive.

So I ask, who hurts more after a breakup, is it the guy or the girl and why?

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Right To Blackmail Someone Into Serving God? by korel9(op): 11:04am On Nov 24, 2013
striktlymi: But what I do know that it is not right to force or blackmail (if you will) anyone to worship God. The worship of God should come voluntarily. When people are forced to worship God, the likely thing is for those individual's to observe 'religious' rites without having a connection with God which may end up not so good later on.
Well put. Based on the first sentence above, I guess it is not right. And the last sentence above is likely to become the end result of such actions. Thank you.
Christianity Etc › Is It Right To Blackmail Someone Into Serving God? by korel9(op): 10:14am On Nov 24, 2013
As awful as it may sound, people are blackmailed into serving God these days.
In my church where I worship for example (name witheld), the pastor once declared that any intending couple must be a worker (in the church) before he would join them together.
As a result of this, the workers in the church have increased including those who are not out to serve God (I'm not judging).
So the question is the justification behind this method employed because it looks like a blakmail to me.
