Good observation.

Another tactic they use is to make up fake Yoruba names as their correspondents.

It is a very devious news agency, very unprofessional and full of lies.
PoliticsRe: President Buhari And His Enemies by Kororugged: 9:04am On Jun 07, 2015
Firefire:
Going by what one reads in the newspapers and hears on radio and television, Buharimaniacs believe strongly that the President, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, can solve singlehandedly the problems confronting Nigeria at this time, whereas President Goodluck Jonathan and his subordinates are relentlessly excoriated for running the most incompetent and corrupt government the country has witnessed since independence.

According to triumphalist Buharimaniacs, the new President would soon destroy Boko Haram, jail everyone convicted of corruption, reengineer the economy, reduce unemployment to the barest minimum ever, reform the electoral process, probe Jonathan’s administration, rejuvenate the dwindling manufacturing sector, ensure steady electricity and build world class infrastructure, and so on.

On the other hand, those of us that supported Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election effort are still being subjected to vicious obloquy and malicious accusations of taking bribes or seeking for political appointments. Let me make some points clear now. I wish I had been paid handsomely for supporting the former President.

Unlike pretentious Pharisees who commit atrocities behind closed doors but talk and behave holier-than-thou in public, I believe there is nothing wrong in being rewarded for declaring publicly an opinion one is genuinely convinced about, which is analogous to a model who truly enjoys lemonade and gets paid for advertising it. We can deceive others and ourselves some of the time; but we cannot successfully do so all the time.

barcanista:
Bros, what do you mean the two journalists are from reputable outfit? Terrorists can take any shape andform. It I'd not perculiar to any profession. Precaution is better than fire-damage.

As for the other journalist, the question he asked "whether the jmntf is working alongside hired agents" is pathetic and a potential threat because the government has never said that they hired any agent anywhere. The issue is a serious one as it relates to terrorism war. It is also calpable of creating unnecessary panic and causing chaos. Though it wasn't the best way to respond!
Crap - Barcanista!

Those journalists from Aljazeera are well known and it wasnt their first time reporting in/from Nigeria. The worst that the Jonathanian government would have done was to deport them immediately rather than detaining them unlawfully for a week.

Your second point is even more pathetic! Are trying to say that journalists can no longer ask questions from the Nigerian government anymore? The fact is that there are reports globally that Jonathan in his desperation hired mercenaries to fight BH. Is it a crime for a journalist to ask for clarifications to establish the facts?

Why did the Jonathan administration take offense to that question? Why did they abuse the rights of that journalist to perform his duties?

When are you going to open a thread to condemn this unlawful behavior?
PoliticsRe: Barcanista Come And Defend Gej by Kororugged: 10:50pm On May 11, 2015
major466:
At least we all believe that media freedom is crucial for the development and strengthening of our democracy. This is a good sign.
However the two Aljazeera journalist you cited broke the law when they entered a military operation zone without military clearance. You can't enter a military zone without clearance. This is standard practice worldwide.
So the punishment for that is subjecting them to an unlawful house arrest for days ? Is that your definition of 'media freedom'? Especially during an election period?

Let us talk about the situation that happened today? Why was the journalist evicted from the state house because he asked an uncomfortable but important question?

When is Barcanista going to open a thread to condemn this unlawful behavior by Jonathan's govt?

We are not in a military dispensation, we are not operating under decree 2. Why did this happen?
PoliticsRe: Barcanista Come And Defend Gej by Kororugged: 10:41pm On May 11, 2015
barcanista:
Oga I don't see why youu guys are jumping helter skelter. The two Aljazira Journalists trespassed a territory without clearance from the FG and the Military considering that we are facing terrorist attack. Their detention wwas/is justified in line with international practice.

That of the other dude also bothers on National security. Both cases had nothing to do with Jonathan as a Person or his Presidency
Crap!

Excuses upon excuses...

Like two journalists from a reputable media station would be mistaken for terrorists? undecided undecided

Tell us how the journalist evicted today is a security threat? Because he asked uncomfortable questions? Your hypocrisy is becoming clearer everyday

If these events happened in the APC camp, you would have opened 2 threads condemning it.

Where is the so called ' Patriotism over Party Politics' Noise?
PoliticsRe: Barcanista Come And Defend Gej by Kororugged: 10:09pm On May 11, 2015
Thank you OP for this thread

The Jonathan government is once again denying journalists their right to free speech. This is the same government that unlawfully detained 2 press men from Aljazeera during the elections

Jonathan is a disgrace and Nigerians cannot wait till the 29th of May to see the end of this mistake of a president.

Barcanista, when are you going to caution Jonathan for this pathetic and undemocratic act??

I admit that I compromised email address of one nairalander (not truckpusher) which I deeply regret up till this time. That was at the height of the tribal fight and I was a victim too. When you are victimised, you may take stupid decision that you will live to regret (but that is no excuse). After doing that I felt pain of betrayal of trust and it was the most regretful action. However, I ignored further request for address of more people. I also remember that I made a caveat. My joy however is that the information wasn't used. Though I still regret till this time.

I believe that you don't expect me to deny my actions

Honestly , you're the hungry fellow here - After all ,when you threatened fire and brimstone to expose him and he gave you the go ahead order if you have anything on him you couldn't do anything citing that you have a boss called scatterbox and that you're nothing but a foot soldier.

APC is a consortium of propagandists that make gains via deceit and falsehood. The party is a rejected party in Rivers State. Rivers is 100% PDP!
And what are you?

You are a hungry man, seeking attention and looking for protection opportunities.

You are a bitter twisted man with no ideology or morals. In the last 18 months, you have moved from the PDP to the APC, back to the PDP and now shouting Lower Niger all over the place embarassed

You have no right to call anyone a propagandist while you are still alive!

[s]Why do some of you feel threatened whenever it has to do with a United SS/SE? FYI the days of acrimony between some SS and the Igbos is OVER! The Ijaw Youth Council that has always held to an unfavorable belief against the Igbos since post 1970 had to go to the Igbo nation to apologise in February 2015. In fact, everyone is talking unity.

My guy the so-called Igbo dominating threat is a staled one. Very staled! And my past perception towards the Igbos is also staled and denounced. Stop crying more than the bereaved. I insist on Eastern region, you should leave us to our troubles. Have you heard of "Lower Niger"? Go figure...[/s]

PoliticsRe: My Sympathy For APC Nairaland by Kororugged: 11:54pm On Apr 30, 2015
barcanista:
[s]Firstly, Let me use this opportunity to plead passionately with the Igbo nation. I have directly and indirectly offended the Igbo race especially when I was blinded by FALSE and WARPED opinion about the tribe/ethnic group that was passed to me by my elders only to discover that the whole thing was fable and they (elders) themselves were sold tales. Just like Ijaw Youth Council Pleaded, I humbly plead for forgiveness. Please, for the sake of love and brotherhood forgive my past and do not use it against me. I may not deserve your pardon but have mercy... Throughout my trial period majority of the people that stood by me were all Igbos, they showed me real brotherhood and friendship (This was really touching). The same people that I have been abusing in the past. Folly was on my part, brotherhood has now taken over. I am committed to the unity of the "Lower Niger" and strengthening of our brotherhood. I beg for your mercy. I have made a passionate plea on a certain thread but I believe it is wise to do this. Thank You.

Secondly, it is an open secret that the APC folks on Nairaland have been trying all they could to get this "barcanista" moniker out of the way. From campaign of calumny to insults. From labelling me a bigot (if only they know the meaning) to calling me a "loser". The latest now is that they spend more time looking and admiring my pre-February 16, 2015 posts to get at me.

The irony of this is that I was originally with the People's Democratic Party. The PDP acted with maturity, civility and brotherly even when I defected to the APC. Though in opposing sides, it never prevented us from strengthening our friendship. From Tomakint to Mogidi, even to firefire. In fact, the first time I met with Firefire was when I was in APC. It was so mutual that we never allowed our political differences to influence personal relationship. Dein77, Scantee, Truckpusher, Biafranqueen and so many were acquaintances even before moving to PDP. In fact, they were more than friends. Descartes though on different political divide never took it personal, not forgetting Bloodyassassin. It was fun and healthy. The support they all showed me up till my defection was awesome.

On the other hand, the APC crybabies have been moving from one thread to another spamming and "digging" up posts. The funny thing is that I deliberately left them (just like I did my pro-PDP threads). I understand that the BARCANISTA moniker rather than getting deactivated has been fully active in playing its patriotic role in playing opposition, which in-turn give them so much pains. The good news is that the barcanista moniker will not go nowhere. I sympathise with the APC guys and I wish them well in their "digging".

However, the assurance is that my commitment to the PDP is unfettered. Having tasted both parties, I will rightly beat my chest that APC is everything undemocratic. It is vindictive and a conspiracy. I know some of you think I was a loser because APC won, but the truth is the electoral triumph of APC does not in anyway define failure or success of my political choice. I have all to glory of for returning to the Umbrella.

May we enjoy a fruitful four years ahead...[/s]
