I traveled from Lagos to Port Harcourt to see my future in laws family. My girl wasn't around as she's still in Lagos schooling.

I went there with a family member and got them some items like shortcake biscuits and juice.

They offered us food and we ate. After the meeting and normal questioning, we were set to go when surprisingly, this people brought out two loaves of bread and gave us. I told them that the food we ate was enough, that we don't need the bread.

We haven't even gone far when my girl started texting me on WhatsApp angrily asking me why I rejected her mother's gift. That she gave it out of love, this and that.

I told her that bread is the wrongest gift the mother could give me. I am supposed to buy them bread and not the one way round. I intentionally refused to buy bread for them because I assumed bread is an everyday food that people buy and eat, so I decided to go with the package biscuits instead and here they are offering me bread.

If it were something produced locally by them like coconut or something, I can understand but bread?

Please, did I do anything wrong rejecting the bread?

You did what? Reject an in-law's gift? Mine gave me pawpaw when i went there. I accepted it with my whole heart and told her that i was a fruity too, even though, at that time, i was not! Married now for almost a decade. Mother in law still sends me fruits till date. It's called decorum, it was a damn test, damn it...

As at 2019,i had worked for 7 years without any evidence,woke up by 5am everyday to prepare for workby 7 till around 6pm when we closed and even had to work on some saturdays. Hoped on buses every single day to and from work. Everyday was painful, annoying even and always felt like there was no way out even when i was begging for one.

I thought of quitting but quickly shoved it off my mind when i realised how saturated the job market was. I also thought of switching to another field but that would require money and time and i didn't have any. I prayed for a way out every single day, to just be out of the misery i was facing at that time.

Fastfoward to 2020, things got worse with the pandemic, fortunately i was not laid off but we weren't paid since we weren't working, it was around that time i stumbled upon trading, a colleague had told me about it before but i didn't take it seriously until i realisee i had to earn in another way from a regular job.

I paid a mentor about 50k to teach me everythingabout it, i had to plead for him to accept that since i didn't have much at that time and i also wasn't expecting any salary. After about a month of intensive training i started trading fully.

It wasn't easy for the first month, had some losses but after that i started getting my wins. Got about 4million in my first 8 months, and continued from there.

For about 3 years i have been able to make about 30 million and yes i lost many prop firm accounts and trades too especially for the unprofitable months but overall it has been rewarding.

My problem now is the amount of time i put in nowadays, it's not been fun at all. Yes the reward is good, the work put in has really been hectic. In fact its almost harder than my former job. Most people think because i work from home , i don't stress very much which is a very big myth. There are some days i feel like calling it quit and doing something else thats as rewarding but not as tasking as trading. It's not as easy as most people picture it will be. Awake for almost the whole day backtesting, fowardtesting, teachind and also mentoring.

Please if you have something else that's as rewarding but not as tasking would love to know about it. Thanks

Interestingly we both are in the same circumstance. I quit my bank job to start solar business and web design business. Though the take profit is not that bad, competition affects profitability. My advise to you will be the advise i have given myself. As you make profits, please invest in real estate. Even if it small self contains you can put up, start by getting the land space and doing a foundation. You will be shocked about how the money will come to finish it. It will give you the residual income to expand more into it...

My wife answers calls at odd hours of the night but if i query her she would claim it's a friend or her boss at her work place. It's morethan a month when last i had sex with my wife.

I'm not harsh and I provide for my family. But my wife's behaviour ir burning me deep in my heart. I sometimes cry when alone in office or at home. Please advse me on what to do as iam pained and confused.

It pains me that Nigerians lack empathy to the plight of those who have issues or are experiencing issues. If you don't have any thing constructive to say, why not keep mute. My brother as a fellow married man i want you to know i experienced something similar last year, although i don't suspect her of cheating, but the behavioral change was too obvious and it lasted for weeks. i asked and she said it was nothing until i couldn't take it. I decided that marriage is not do or die and my mental health was being affected. I told her people that their daughter was insolent to me and i wanted out straight up. I also went to my people and told them that i wanted out as well. i needed to mention that i stopped eating her food and travelled for over a week, switched off my phone. I took the game to her and she came crying. What i am saying is, sometimes, women need to be given the opportunity to know that you have a life without them and will definitely find your joy later. We must not end up like our parents who married for decades and died married. In this new age of social media, options are far higher and maybe she is thinking whether she made a mistake marrying you as she is now exposed to more muscular or richer guys or work colleagues. Whatever she chooses, is her business, i repeat, if she doesn't open up to you, it is her business. Since she has decided to hide her phone, chat at night to who knows, baba change am for am and do it quick. Travel, off phone. Be ready for the family to wade in and if it degenerates, think of your kids welfare and how you will either maintain custody or leave them with her and send support, what am saying is that, by the time you send the rain, have an umbrella to cover yourself but allowing her get away with this or begging for her love is certainly a no no. Teach her the kind of lesson that she will realize that you are married to her doesn't mean you will tolerate nonsense.
If however, things settle down, please let her know that you guys are a team and you have the destinies of kids to guide rightly, so its up to you both to either keep it together or simple maturely move on. As for me, i nor dey tolerate nonsense. If i see you hide your phone from me, i will cease it and make you open it in front of your pastor or parent. But baba, before you do that, make sure you are not also on the cheating side. Enough said, pray for your home, nothing God can't do. I don't know your religion, but if you do one of the above, it will resolve. Please don't let it slide other wise a bigger one is coming in future.

6th of January 2020 is the day I won’t forget. I work as a personal assistant/secretary to my boss who happens to be a former politician.

My boss came to work with her housemaid for her to help in sweeping, cleaning and tidying up the office being the resumption day. She instructed us on how to go about it before she stepped out from the office promising to come back in the afternoon.

We started the work immediately until afternoon time when I decided to rest and eat. While eating I beckoned the grown up housemaid to come and eat or at least rest before she continues the cleaning but she declined. After like an hour, I told her to rest small, she declined yet again. This prompted me to go close to her in order to convince her to eat something or rest.

My worst mistake and nightmare was attempting to put my hand on her shoulder in my stupid bid to convince her. Immediately my hand touched her shoulder she started shouting continuously that I want to rape her, that she will deal with me; in fact that I will get sacked. At first I told her my intention, but she wouldn’t hear me, I then resorted to pleading, I even knelt down begging her that it wasn’t my intention to rape or grab her. She couldn’t stand my talks and pleading, she called the boss immediately telling her that I want to rape her. We narrated everything to the boss, (a lawyer), when she returned. After hearing from us she said she has stayed with her maid for couple of years, thus she trust her, and it may be true that I wanted to rape her or lure her for sex. She couldn’t see my explanation, pleadings and even crying. She said she has two options; either to call police for me or to sack me. That’s how she later sacked me that day.

I have been devastated and depressed since that day, not because of the sack but the allegation and accusation that was not even on my mind. The worst is that as an introvert I have no one to talk to, I am damn down.

Notes: 1. I have no intention of raping, grabbing or having sex with her
2. I will not be so stupid to rape or have sex with the housemaid in the office knowing that the boss will come at any time
3. I have not raped anyone or plan to do so in the future because I know is morally and legally wrong.

Let me get your facts here:
You called her, she declined. You asked her to eat again, she refused. You then got up to touch her. Haba bros. You clearly went out of line. There was intention for indecent assault. What's worse is that it happened in the office. We can talk about the witch of a house help later but you were given another opportunity to know how to witches do exist in human form. Lest I forget, next time when accused of an offence, NEVER BEG! It's an admission of guilt. Rather get angry and resign, call their bluff and move on
