@ Killayut I am happy you agreed that Yenagoa cannot be compared to Warri city even in the next 100 years. It is obvious that you don't understand the city of Warri. Let me educate you about Warri. Ijaws did not claim to have any land in Warri city which is Warri south LG. Even their Ijaw quarter, Ogbijaw is in Warri south-west which is the riverine part. If you know any Ijaw community in Warri city mention it and the location. Ugborodo- the richest community in Nigeria is better than Yenagoa |
@ Killafool If you get to Itsekiri communities, you will know that Ijaws are suffering. How many Ijaw community can you compare to Warri. Can you compare Yenagoa that has no drinkable water to Warri? I want to prove that Killayut is a fool here. Killayut, Where is Gelegele? What is the distance between Gelegele and Ughoton(a pure Beni settlement)? After Gelegele, what is the name of the next village allong the creek and who are the inhabitants? What is the distance betweeen Gelegele and Ekewan What is the name of the river that passes through Ekewan down to Gelegele to Ofunama to Ogheye? GEJ was dilivered by all of us, Ijaw gave him less than 500,000 votes, if you use GEJ as a yard stick to measure your sucess then you are a looser. Ijaws are suffering more in GEJ government than any other government. If you can answer the above question correctly then I will know that you know the road to Gelegele but I am sure that you dont know Gelegele. |
@kilafool If Itsekiris met Ijaw in Warri area, how come there is no single Ijaw word in Itsekiri language. Itsekiri communities existed as independent Yoruba communities for centuries before the arrival of Ginuwa from Benin . Ugborodo for instance is a community founded partly by Yorubas from Ugbo kingdom in Ondo State centuries before Ijaw were brought from Gold coast by white men as servants and porters and the slave mentality is still in them unto this day. Was there any law stopping Ijaws from going to school during the time of Awo? Ask yourself why the Urhobos and Itsekiris intermarry a lot and they refuse to marry Ijaws? It is because they see it as abomination to marry their servant. |
I never wanted to coment on this issue because I don't know who nairaland is working for by keeping this thread in the political section but you have decided to provoke me by insulting Itsekiri. Evil forest is Ugbo buruku in Itsekiri , why did they not call it Ugboburuku? The other time you said Warri is Ijaw name and now you have changed it to Seikiri. From Ode Itsekiri-Olu(BIG WARRI) to Ajami mogha where the palace is there is no Ijaw who are slaves to Itsekiri. They are called Eru by Itsekiris while Igbos called them Oru/ohu. Eru =slaves. Warri city is purely Itsekiri and some few Urhobo settlement, there is no Ijaw in warri city. |
I want to appeal to all southerners in this thread to be careful of Hausa Fulani antics of promoting hatred among southerners to suggest to us that Nigeria must be one. They purposely created the problem between Ijaw and Itsekiri to divide and rule. The Ijaws where loved by the Itsekiris to the extent that the Ijaws have their representative in the Olu of Warri palace. They were seen as brothers even though they were much primitive but the Hausa sow the seed of hatred. Not withstanding, this is the time for us to stand behind GEJ and repel our common enemy and not a time to identify our weakness, even though we know that land grabbing is the weakness of the Ijaws, let us not over emphasize their weakness now as timing is a very important aspect of human life. The timing for this argument is wrong otherwise I would have provided indisputable fact to prove to our Ijaw brothers that Gele gele is a Bini land just the way Ekewan is a Bini land. I have Ijaw cousins who are from Gelegele. The Ijaws in Gelegele are not of the same origin. We have rivers, delta and Balyesa there. Most of them are Egbema Ijaw. Ijaws and Itsekiris have lived in Ekewan for over 200 years but that doesn't mean they should create a kingdom in another mans land. I don't want to comment further but mind you, Ndu chucks and others are here for a different purpose. I advise we close this thread. |
Musi Baba, where have you been, I don miss you tire, all you have said about Nigeria is already happening. Are Baba , you are welcome back to NLD |
@Jarus pls stop this Sanusi preaching, the more you preach the more I get angry with the man. He is a bad market whose campaign is dead on arrival. A smart guy will know that the timing of the Islamic banking is wrong.Doing the right thing at the wrong time and in a wrong way can produce negative result. A man who does not know this simple principle is not fit to be a councilor. Leadership is not his calling, he is good as a pastor or Imam as you claim |
We will roast any body found in any mosque together with the mosque, what will a Yoruba muslim be doing in a mosque in Warri or any part of delta when there is a bomb explosion by Boko Haram |
@wealth123 don't worry there will be an interpreter for them. SNC is the only solution. |
The time is ticking, SNC or blood, GEJ choose now before it is too late |
I would rather vote for a goat from Benue state than Sanusi but of course, the case of Ribadu will be far better than Sanusi. That Sanusi is a bigot championing the course of Boko Haram. He is good as an Imam. |
Sanusi 2015 for Republic of Boko Haram. He cant even dare come to the south to campaign. Why talking about Nigeria that is dead already waiting for final burial right. |
Nigeria is now being described by foreign press as a country with weak central government like Afghanistan, Somalia. BOKO HARAM HAS BEEN LEGALIZED BY OBJ AND GEJ |
Time for GEJ to always consult nairalanders for advise. His advisers are confused people |
Boko Harams demand: * Suspension of the 1999 constitution * Prohibition of western education * Wider application of Islamic laws * Islamic banking What else will give them their demand better than an SNC or a referendum? Where is Obj going to start his negotiation from? |
The only thing that can stop the killings is for GEJ to resign and hand over to Buhari or IBB. If you think this apology will stop the killing then you are not in tune with the reality on ground. Even if GEJ change to Muslim , it will not stop the bombing. |
Obj should also beg the former head of state who is believed to be sponsoring Boko Haram |
This is why Nigeria can never work because the power merchant are more interested in their investment than all of us. The Boko Haram leader has killed several persons before he was killed even though his killing was extrajudicial since he was captured alive but those he had killed before he was captured are humans too. Is there any one who don't know that this new Boko Haram is a political Boko Haram? Is the life of the Boko leader more important than the lives of technocrats that have been wasted in their bombings. BABA IYABO SHOULD THINK ABOUT SNC OR THE DIVISION OF NIGERIA INSTEAD OF THIS NONSENSE VISIT THAT WILL NOT CHANGE THEIR IDEOLOGY OF THE SIN IN WESTERN EDUCATION |
@ ow11 I just hope you are joking, a war between Ujun and Edo is a suicide war. Don't even contemplate it. Edo terrain will not favour Ijaw at all. Edo boys are used to street fighting during cult clash. Ijaws cant do street fighting in Edo state. This is how the fight will go Edo youths will occupy Ekewan and use it as their base to lunch attack on Gelegele. They will cut off supply to Iboro town not Niboro and block the river. They will occupy Inikorogha and block Inikorogha river. The moment they ravage Gelegele and Block the river from Ita Eko. They have successfully tamed the Ijaws. The Ijaws cannot come through Sapele or Warri by land. What is left is just to enforce no entry policy at the various entry point by heavily armed Edo vigilantee youths. The battle will not even get to Benin city. |
@aljarem Those people are Ilaje people, I watch them with my eyes the day they submitted those weapons. They came in eight speed boats. They demonstrated round the river and fire some shots into the air before they eventually came down from the boats. To further prove to you, take a look at that triple stand very well, you will see that it is an improvised triple- stand. Only Ilajes have that tripple stand and later gave to Itsekiris. They also have an artillery bomber mounted on top of a small badge specifically designed by Ilajes for shallow water. Find out from Ilajes they designed the triple stand, Ijaws don't have it. |

Very soon Ijaws will start claiming people with their land. READ IJAW CLAIM TO OWN ALL OF US INCLUDING ODUDUWA WHOM THEY GAVE A NAME CALL ADUMU------an Itsekiri name for the spirit behind Hurricane The Eweka dynasty only becomes fully legitimise when Ogun (Ewuare)of the 12th generation ascends the throne. Ogun it is stated was the child of a noble woman who descended from the Ogisos, ie to say she was an Ogiso princess. This may have been a deliberate process on the part of the indigenous element put in place a ruler who was favourable to their interests (Ogun was earlier banaished), for Ogun ascended to the throne after a great battle that lasted two days and two nights. So Ogun ascended the throne of the Ogisos and united in himself the two dynasties (the older indigenous Ogiso dynasty and the younger Oranjan-Eweka dynasty from an Ife near the Igala country). It was during Ogun’s time that 'the trouble ceased' so to speak. It was from his time that the monarchy became legitimate and stablised by Ogun creating a state council integrating the Indigenous chiefs in a power sharing arrangment. By the time of the Oba kings of Benin, the Ijo (Oru) speaking element of Benin had become a minority in the Benin region, due to intermarriage with the EFA amongst other things. This intermarriage gave birth to some of the Urhobo clans so to speak, who later migrated from Benin. Subsequently the Oranmiyan-Eweka dynasty started confiscating the land of the true owners of the Benin region, which led to massive migrations out of Benin. Hence the Ijaw narratives from Mein-Ijo and other clans which attest to such actually happening. Many of these people moved into the main central delta and coast to join their kith & Kin already estabished in the region. (Historians need to question why was it that Mein fled Benin into the central delta from Aboh, which at the time was still Ijo speaking? Why is it that the Urhobo maintain fraternal relations with the Ijaws up till the present day? Conclusion: As we go further and further back in time, we cannot talk of the Ijos, Yoruba,s Binis, Edos, Urhobos as we now understand them as ethnic groups in this present time. We have established that certain ancient African people’s settled in the Southern Nigeria region and gave birth to new ethnic groups. These ancient tribes were known as The ORU, The KUMONI (a part of the ORU) The OOYELAGBO OR UGBO (a part of the KWA) The IGBO (a part of the KWA) The EFA (A part of the KWA) The BANTU and SEMI BANTU Of the above only the ORU or KUMONI were aquatic previously living in the Nile-Valley, Upper Niger, Lake Chad region and Lower Niger. The KWA and BANTU formally lived in the East Africa and Nok regions. The Nile-Valley migration stories refer mostly to the ORU or KUMONI people. In the Southern Nigeria region these people fused in the following manner to produce the following major ethnic groupings. In the Niger Delta - KUMONI + ORU = IJO (some intermarriage with EFA women, and maybe Bantu, ORU element largest) In the Ile-Ife region - KUMONI + OOYELAGBO = YORUBA (OOYELAGBO element larger, some of the sub groups are less mixed than others) In the Benin region - KUMONI + EFA +OOYELAGBO = EDO ( EFA element largest, Bini, etc) In the north-west delta region - KUMONI + ORU + EFA = URHOBO & ISOKO (Oru men marrying Efa women and children speaking mother tongue!) East of the Niger - ORU + EFA + IGBO + BANTU = IBO (IGBO) 1450 upwards, YORUBA + BINI + IJO = ITSEKIRI (The Yoruba element being the larger) At a glance one can see why the Ijo language is very much distinct from the other languages such as Yoruba, Edo and Igbo, as the Ijos seem to be most isolated of the Ethnic nationalities when it comes to the fusion of the ancient tribes. Ijaws are most likely from Cameroon, the language is not related to any language in Nigeria. It only has slight resemblance with Calaba intonation. I think they migrated through the river from Cameroon to Bayelsa State. From there they spread like Fulani. Ijaws are not edoid at all. |
Okakuro is the Urhobo version while the Itsekiri version is Olori-ogun. Although some Urhobo clan use the Itsekiri version but because Urhobos pronounce ''L'' as ''N'' It is now widely used by Urhobos as Onorogun. I think Okakuro is a derivative from the Beni version. In any case Okakuro means chief in Urhobo language. |
QUOTE Re: Ijaw Itsekiri Crisis Again « #143 on: July 24, 2011, 01:07 PM » Modify message @ Ibime Ibime yeee, tebraa? Iyonfaa? Owei tobor, Efideye, Egberiye, Egberifadeya. Ibimeyee, you are confusing Bomadi with Warri, you may be right in the past when all Ijaws in delta were claiming to be Itsekiri but you are presently very wrong to say Ijaws migrated from the present Warri kingdon to river state. In the past ,the whole of Bomadi, Burutu and Patani were under Warri province.(not warri kingdom). May be that is why your grand father told you they are from Warri. Moreover if he had told you Patani or Burutu, you may be thinking that the town is in Bayelsa state that is why he use Warri which is more popular and Itsekiri made it so. The accommodating nature of Itsekiri is what is causing all this rubbish and hence fort Ijaw fisher men will no longer be allowed into Itsekiri and Urhobo community to fish. Their settlement is very easy to construct, they don't need cement. They just peg four sticks, raft the floor with wood, get raffia palm to cover the top. they start producing minimalistic children without any form of education. The next thing you hear na my community yeee. They know you will win them in court, they don't believe in court all they use is violence. The benefit of the violence to them is already on the line of regression, because other ethnic groups are already acquiring weapons of mass destruction to curtail them effectively. 10 years ago Itsekiris produce land mines locally and use it to massacre Ijaws. The 2010 and 2011 model of the land mine is out, we are progressing, very soon we will have a mini nuclear reactor, Itsekiris are the Israelis of Niger Delta. When the war started newly, Itsekiris were not prepared, they were just running into Itsekiri villages at will and it became a tea party for them. They use to come from the creek into Warri city to mark Itsekiri house for destruction, they will over power the army and enter warri and start misbehaving. The irony is that they don't have houses in Warri, all the beautiful houses in Warri are owned by Itsekiris and other tribes. They live in tactch house in the creek. Along the line Itsekiri develop resistance and when we started bringing our weapons they became newer and more sophisticated than their own. The last time their warriors attempted to enter Warri, they were dessimated by our land mines and rockets. The remnant of them living in rented apartment in Warri city threatened to avenge the death of their warrors in 48 hrs, withing the 48hrs we ran into them under the rain, we chase all of them from the city of Warri, our young girls were on top of vehichcle shooting sporadically with AK47 and Bazuka. It was a war film, the sound of our guns were different from the sound of their guns, while their AK47 were sounding kaka, our Bazuka were sounding Gudum, our Ogbunigbi were sounding gbudum! Our bullets had unconventional sizes as confirmed by the army. "We have not seen this size of bulet" army spokes man. They were specially made for the Isrealis of Niger Delta, Egbesu could no longer stop our bulet and Ijaws surrenderd for peace after the battle and channelled their energy towards hostage taking and attack on oil installation which is cheaper and more economical to them. The Itsekiri war does not produce money but death. They fought with Itsekiri and they became poorer but when they attack oil companies they became richer. GELEGELE Has any body heard this Bini song.Gelegele nor ewanta gelenor oo ,gelegele. Ijaws came to gelegele to do trade by bata with Binis, they bring fish from Ofunama area close to an Itsekiri settlement known as Ita- Eko(Lagos Junction) in Bini river. They usually give fish to Benis in exchange for garri, plantain, stach, etc and the point of exchange are two Beni villages called Gelegele and Ekewan(Eki-owan), The road leading to the two villages is the road where the University of Benin Ekewan campus is situated. In the process of the business, they establish Ijaw quarter there, the Itsekiris bringing fishes from Ita-Eko and Oghoye also extablish Itsekiri quarters there and the both groups were under the rep of Oba of Benin called Okakuro. In less than 50 years Ijaws said they dont want to be under the Okakuro that they want to make their own Pere as ruler that Gelegele is now their property. They attack Itsekiri quarter and the Oba became angry and ordered the demolition of Ijaw quarter in Ekewan. They ran away like fugitive and later came back to plead for mercy. Under GEJ now they have started again that they want to include Gelegele in their proposed Toru Ebe state. I think Ijaws have a genetic problem. That was why when we taught of developing a locally made biological weapon to further alter their gene, we consildered so many things including their closeness to us. Very soon people will start denying their Ijawism, they are even constituting embarrazment to the president. The president got the highest resistance from his people before he became president. They never wanted him to be president, the total vote of Bayelsa state is less than the vote of delta central. WHERE IS IAJAW HOME LAND? The language has no relationship with any other language except Calaba.Ibimeyee, I need answer to this question because a tribe must not have home land in every state, if so Nigeria will be Igbo home land. |
We know that the devil can quote the scripture very well but from the days of John the Baptist the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force. Those castigating PAPA AYO are the greatest fool. The man made a conditional statement, If it is obvious that FG cannot provide security for Jos people then tell us how to protect the Jos people. When the muslim kill, they don't quote the Quoran but when the Christian does any thing that is when you see muslims quoting the Bible even more than the Christians. In fact I regretted being a christian because Christians don't know their right from their left. How many muslims have come out to openly criticize the sultan of Sokoto and even Boko Haram on Nairaland? Any one who knows he can do the job better to guaranty the security of Jos people should aspire to take over from PAPA. Personally , I don't like the Christian faith because it is full of hypocrites |
Time for GEJ to rely on Nairaland for advise, all our prediction long ago are already happening and more will happen without SNC |
Nigeria: Plateau - FG Declares State of Emergency Through Backdoor George Agba and Achor Abimaje 13 September 2011 * Email| * Print| * Comment(3) Share: on Twitter Facebook Digg Del.icio.us Muti StumbleUpon In what appears to be a declaration of a state of emergency through the backdoor, President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday ordered the chief of defence staff, Air Chief Marshall Oluseyi Petinrin, to take absolute control of the security situation in Plateau State. The president, who directed the army chief to "take all necessary actions to stop the recent spate of killings" on the Plateau, has also summoned the state governor, Chief Jonah Jang, to a meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja, today. According to Jonathan, the directive was his own way of keeping with his avowed resolve to ensure security of life and property across the country. A statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, noted that the president took the action following a meeting of the National Security Council and has "also directed the secretary to the government of the federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, to bring up all pending reports by committees recently set up by the federal government on the Plateau for immediate review and implementation". Part of the statement made available to LEADERSHIP reads: "President Jonathan, who is scheduled to meet with the Plateau State governor, Chief Jonah Jang, tomorrow, further directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to take prompt action to address the plight of internally displaced persons in Plateau State. "He renewed his call on parties involved in the crises in Plateau State to embrace tolerance, dialogue and compromise to ensure the success of ongoing efforts to achieve a lasting resolution of their differences." In a related development, the Plateau State government has welcomed the deployment of the troops to the state by the president. Speaking in a telephone conversation with LEADERSHIP, the Special Adviser on Media to the governor, Pam Ayuba, noted that the president means well for the indegenes, adding that the state government will support any move by the federal government to resolve the crisis. Meanwhile, despite the twin bomb explosions that rocked a relaxation joint at West of Mines on Sunday evening, many other spots were open for business yesterday; fresh fish and roasted chicken were displayed in some shops like the BTO joint in the area. A victim, Miss Sarah Jacob, who sells fish at the evening relaxation centre, said a man with tribal marks on his face had approached her and asked for the price of the fish. "Before I finished telling him the prices, he removed a handset from his pocket and started making calls and left immediately. The next I knew, there were people hovering over me and I heard different noises. Initially, I didn't know what had happened until somebody told me that it was an explosion. Thank God I sustained some minor injury," she said. Also, one Samuel Kwamkur, who was around the area and heard a loud sound, lamented that the issue has become a global affair. He called on the federal government to expedite action by inviting some foreign experts who would come and assist in detecting and disposing of the explosives whenever there are threats. Relevant Links * West Africa * Nigeria * Arms and Armies * Legal Affairs The public relations officer of the Plateau State Police command, ASP Apev Jacob, confirmed that there was an explosion around West of Mines at about 8:30pm. He warned the general public against rushing to the scene of any explosion whenever it occurs because it could be dangerous: "One can easily get injured or killed because you may not know whether there is one that did not go off." He urged the people of the state to be cautious and always report any suspicious movement to the security agents. Meanwhile, President Jonathan said in a chat last night that coercive law enforcement will not solve the Plateau crisis, adding that inhabitants must be carried along and agree to live in peace. He also assured Nigerians of improved electricity supply, while encouraging states and private sector to get involved in the power sector |
Only those who don't see what we see will ague rubbish. Who told you guys that civilians don't have guns already? The advantage of having guns outweighs the disadvantage. There are guns every where here why are we not killing ourselves like that. Robbers don't come to my area because they know that there is heavy concentration of assorted weapons here even though they are acquired illegally. The guns should be properly registered and given to them. That is the best solution to the Jos crises or turn them into community police. Any thing short of that should be rejected by Jos people. |
Henry Okah was hijacked by IBB Look at what Aboki MEND has to say: How then can legitimate and peaceful objection to this dubious selection of a president be construed as discrimination? Inept, corrupt and power hungry leaders from both sides of the divide have contributed to the failure of Nigeria. These people continue to blind Nigerians to their inadequacies over plying the tribal and religious cards to divide and rule. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) will continue to pursue vigorously the emancipation of the people of the Niger Delta from corrupt leadership and the grip of western oil companies. Where possible, we will assist and collaborate with groups and individuals in Nigeria willing to uproot the corrupt leaderships of states and federal government. We will do this only towards the realization of ONE NIGERIA where there will be justice, respect for rule of law and independence of the judiciary, intolerance of religious bigotry and nepotism. ONE NIGERIA where fairness to all citizens regardless of tribe, gender or religion will reign supreme! The sole motive of this utterly abhorrent diatribe on the failure of Nigeria as a state by the Movement for new Nigeria is the actualization of the impossible dream of a state of Biafra under any guise. The people of the Niger Delta and indeed all Nigerians must resist this selfish plot by any means necessary. Nigeria is not a failed nation; Nigeria’s leaders have failed the nation. -Jomo Gbomo http: |
I have said it several times that Jonathan should not bother to prosecute these people, he should concentrate on SNC or the division of this country. It is the entire north that is waging war against the south. Can he prosecute all the emirs and political leaders in the north? If yes then he should be prepared for another brand of Jihad which will be deadlier than this present one. Just imagine if the sultan of sokoto, emirs, former head of state and political leaders in the north are locked in the prison , what do you think the Boko guys and alimajiris will do? |
The man GEJ has started reasoning like human being, even though he has not openly agreed with our demand for SNC, he has given a lead way. In fact my anger for GEJ has reduce by 5%. We need an umpire or a third party to witness whatever we are going to do. Doing it the Nigerian way will end up in the Nigerian way like previous conference or civil war. Relying on this present house of assembly for any thing is like remaining in the old Nigeria. Personally, I wouldn't want to remain in any country bearing the same name with these Arab infested northerners who proclaim death for America and Israe[/b]l on issues that does not concern them. Whatever regional government we are talking about should be based on southern Nigeria and some part of middle belt. The north is cancerous and should not be associated with us to avoid the spread of ''cancer'' |
