Christianity EtcEncouraging Words By Pastor Joel Osteen by kppo(op): 8:20pm On Dec 02, 2025
Today's Scripture
A faithful person will be richly blessed.
Proverbs 28:20, NIV

In the Ordinary Days
Sometimes we’re frustrated because we know we have more in us but we’re not seeing it happen. David was anointed to be the king, then God sent him back to the shepherds’ fields to care for sheep. Your anointing will supersede where you are right now. But David didn’t slack off or have a sour attitude in the mundane when no one was watching him. Thirteen years later, after being faithful in the shepherds’ fields and going through all kinds of unfair situations with King Saul, David suddenly took the throne. Passing the test in the ordinary days is what leads to exceptional days.

As with David, you may know you have more in you. You can feel the seeds of greatness, but you’re doing something menial, something below your training. Are you being excellent where God has you now? Be faithful in the routine. Be faithful when nothing exciting is happening or changing. If you are being your best where God has you now, serving and giving with a good attitude, God will take you from the background to the foreground.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for calling me to be faithful in the routine, knowing that You are preparing me for the new things You have in store. Thank You that You will take me from the ordinary to the exceptional. I’m going to keep being my best, serving and loving right where I am. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Omooba77:
Has God ever come through for you before in a difficult situation?
Yes. He has. I was jobless for many years and it seemed like my career was dead and buried. But God gave me a job and resurrected my career like the dry bones in Ezekiel chapter 37. Praise the Lord.

Also, in like manner, God resurrected my Masters degree programme that I had dropped out of for three years. I was able to resit for an outstanding course and complete my dissertation all with the help of God. Infact, I scored the highest in the course I resat for all because God provided someone to take us for tutorials on an integral part of the course that came out in the exams. I give glory and thanks to God.

Hope appointed as Renewed Hope ambassador. His name is Hope so who else can represent Renewed Hope except for someone named Hope. It is the perfect match. It is also a good example why you should give your children good names. A good name will work for you. Ask Goodluck Jonathan. grin
Christianity EtcRe: What Is D Most Foolish Or Weirdest Thing You Have Ever Done Because Of Religion? by kppo(m): 4:50pm On Nov 25, 2025
essentialone:
What is the most foolish or weirdest thing you have ever done because of Religion?
1. Sacrificing my breakfast for life: I completely stopped eating anything before 12noon as a special sacrifice to God. It lasted for some time (maybe even years). But eventually I had to resume eating breakfast again. I couldn't cope. It's like I regained my senses back. Initially, I limited the breakfast sacrifice to only on Sundays. But after sometime, even Sundays was taken off the breakfast sacrifice schedule. Now I eat breakfast freely everyday having learned my lesson that when the pastor asks for you to give a special sacrifice, it's not your breakfast for life he is talking about.

2. Giving away my first alawi during NYSC service year: I gave away my entire first salary at the NYSC orientation camp. They call it capitation back then in NCCF (Nigerian Christian Corpers' Fellowship). I eventually ran low on funds and had to contact my mother at home to send money urgently because I didn't even have enough to travel back home. Fortunately, my mother sent money to me by Western Union back then. Now, looking back I can't say whether sacrificing my entire first salary was a wise move or not. God knows. But I don't think I have learnt my lesson about giving away my entire first salary away as first fruits because I still do it when I get a new job.

Okay. Thanks alot. Someone else had suggested there was an error somewhere.
Christianity EtcRe: What Do You Understand By 11th Hour Miracle, Have You Experienced It? by kppo(m): 5:44pm On Nov 03, 2025
Omooba77:
What do you understand by 11th hour miracle, have you experienced it?
I think an 11th hour miracle is a miracle that occurs at the last minute so to speak. That is assuming that the 12th hour is the deadline. So if the miracle happened at the 11th hour, it means that it occurred when all hope was almost lost. That is, just before it was too late.

Looking back, I think my admission to university for my first degree was an 11th hour miracle. The 1st admission list had come out and my name wasn't on the list. Then, 2nd list came out and my name still wasn't on the list. But thankfully, the 3rd and final list came out and my name was on the admission list. If my name was not on that final list, I would not have gained admission into university. It happened at the last moment. Thanks be to God. Glory to God.
Christianity EtcRe: Can Pastor Chris Remarry? Would It Be Right Biblically? by kppo(m): 4:06pm On Nov 01, 2025
Daejumong:
Biblically, can Pst Chris remarry since their divorce was not based on the wife’s infidelity and she is still alive?

The wife divorced him based on allegations of adultery and unreasonable behaviour. This means the wife is biblically allowed to remarry

If truly he fell into sin and he has repented, does it mean he MUST remain unmarried and burn with passion for life while his ex has the option of moving on!

Bible Scholars, pastors and mature Christians what do you think?

Dae Jumong
The Bible says that those that divorce are to remain unmarried unless their former spouse dies. It is only when the former spouse has died, that the person can remarry. See the Bible verses below:

(Romans 7:2-3 KJV) 2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

(1 Corinthians 7:39 KJV) The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

(Luke 16:18 KJV) Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

(1 Corinthians 7:11 KJV) But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

God has already revealed what will be changed in this world in the verse below:

YAHUWAH GOD SAID THAT HE WILL PUNISH THE CHILDREN FOR THE SINS OF THEIR FATHERS. PART 1
Christianity for Africans, Facebook
21 October 2025

People who benefit from the evil and sins of their ancestors like to think that they can benefit because they did not commit the original evil/sins. However, the Bible teaches that Yahuwah God will not leave them unpunished.

Isaiah 14:21 states:
“Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.”

This is just a very brief introduction. We will discuss this subject in much detail as it relates to Africans and the Black experience in this world.

No. You are mistaken. God said He will not punish the son for the sins of the father as it is in the verse below:

[[Ezekiel 18:20 KJV]] The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

You can read the whole chapter 18 of the book of Ezekiel for greater clarity on the matter.

Auxtan:
Thank you for this.
Do you mean he shouldn't go the spiritual traditional way in tackling the Issues and how should he make use of these Bible verses you gave?
I think he should involve a mature man of God. The bible verses are for him to know his spiritual position. He needs to know that he has authority in Christ Jesus. It is that authority that he should use to overcome any traditional juju.
Christianity EtcRe: Should Church Handle Church Tradition Handle Tradition? by kppo(m): 6:17pm On Oct 07, 2025
Auxtan:
For years my brother's life has been going in a circle, he just isn't making any progress at all. He will be 34 next year. But there's this thing.

He just called me now to repeat what he has been saying for years, that he has been revealed to 3 different times since 2012 that he has an AGWU (an Igbo related juju) planted for him in the village.

He has tried relating those to my parents all these years and given our strong Christian background, we have brushed it all aside as nonsense. Now he has involved my maternal uncle who has advised him that as this is a traditional matter he should go the traditional way. My brother called me to tell me all of these going on for years.

I'm so confused as to the right advice to give to him, I have already advised he use the man of God that first revealed this to him years ago that he brushed aside. I'm so confused and really want to know if traditional should go with traditional as my uncle advised?
Traditional issues are spiritual issues. He needs to handle it spiritually. It's called 'spiritual warfare'. Here are some bible verses he should consider:

[[Numbers 23:23 KJV]] Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

[[2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV]] (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holdswink

[[2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV]] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

[[Isaiah 54:17 KJV]] No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

[[Luke 10:19 KJV]] Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

[[Matthew 17:21 KJV]] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

[[Isaiah 10:27 KJV]] And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

[[Matthew 11:28 KJV]] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Christianity EtcRe: What's The Meaning Of This Dream? by kppo(m): 5:47pm On Oct 07, 2025
Preciousgirl:
It's a recurring dream. A woman has been divorced by her husband yet she always sees herself in a dream back in the marriage.

She has genuinely moved on yet always sees herself back in the marriage in dreams. What do the dreams mean?
I don't think the dream means anything special. Dreams of this sort are very common. I see myself in dreams alot where I am in a past job, or past house, or past business. It occurs very often. I think it is just because you are very used to that past point in your life. It's like a 'memory dream' and not a prophetic dream. The bible described such dreams in the verse below:

[[Ecclesiastes 5:3 KJV]] For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

Christianity EtcRe: Why God Created The World by kppo(m): 4:37pm On Sep 28, 2025
Daniel058:
1.
**For His Glory** – God created the heavens, the earth, and all life to display His greatness, and power (Psalm 19:1, Isaiah 43:7). Creation itself reflects His nature.

2.
**For Relationship** – Humanity was created to walk in fellowship with God (Genesis 1:26–27, Genesis 3:cool. The world is the setting for that relationship.

In short: God created the world **for His glory, and to have relationship with His creation.**

Do you think there is any other reason why God created the world?
God created the world for His pleasure as seen in the bible verse below:

[[Revelation 4:11 KJV]] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Christianity EtcRe: What Would You Do If You Found Out We Are Living In A Simulation? by kppo(m): 2:34pm On Sep 20, 2025
This world we are in right now is not the real world. The real world is the kingdom of God. You unplug from this world by being born-again into the real world. The real world is spiritual not physical. Those who have unplugged from this matrix world are encouraged to set their minds on things above where the real world is:

[[Colossians 3:1-3 KJV]] 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

So in a way, this present world is just a simulation of the real world above.
Christianity EtcRe: When Should Christians Speak In Tongues? by kppo(m): 4:25pm On Sep 16, 2025
MaxInDHouse:
Is speaking the same as praying?
Speaking in tongues and praying in tongues are referring to the same thing as you can see in the Bible passages below:

[[1 Corinthians 14:2 KJV]] For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

[[1 Corinthians 14:14-15 KJV]] 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
