ucheagu: I think animal's have a mind of their own, with the way the female animal protect it child, so they must have the ability to think, so I do wonder do they believe in God, do they have souls or will they go to heaven or hell if they die... Your question is very interesting. I also wonder because of what the bible said in Mark 16:15: Mark 16:15 KJV And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. The bible said preach the gospel to every CREATURE. That means animals are included. It didn't say preach the gospel to ALL MANKIND. It said "to every CREATURE." So maybe we should be organizing crusades for animals too. |

My guess is that the other gods are now dwelling amongst us living as ordinary mortals like bible said:
Acts 14:11 KJV And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

Rapmoney: Can you identify the female here amongst these? State your reason(s).
Let's have some fun!
Happy Sunday folks! The one on the right is the female. I say this because the three of them are depicting 'see no evil', 'hear no evil', and 'speak no evil'. Of these three, males don't want to 'see evil' like naked women. That's the one on the left. Also, males don't want to 'hear evil' like a nagging wife. That's the one in the middle. But it is females who don't want to 'speak evil' like a gossipping woman. That's the one on the right. So the one on the right ('speak no evil') is the female. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Think About It. How Did The Authors Know What Jesus Prayed? by kppo(op): 5:41pm On Jan 22, 2025 |
Kobojunkie: Look at what Jesus Christ of Israel did when asked by His followers to teach them to pray in Matthew 6. He went into detail about what they were to say when they did. The author may have gotten the answer to the question by simply asking Jesus Christ of Israel himself what He had prayed about or for, a prayer likely taken from Isaiah 51 vs 22. The author couldn't have known by "simply asking Jesus Christ of Israel himself what He had prayed about or for" because the bible narrates what followed the solo prayer: Judas came and betrayed Jesus and He (Jesus) was arrested and taken away. The disciples were then scattered. Jesus was then tried and crucified. So there was no time in which the disciples could have inquired about what He (Jesus) had prayed about. |

Btruth: Believe God, in spite of the odds
Tue, 21 Jan 2025
‘Our sufficiency is from God.’ 2 Corinthians 3:5
Gideon’s army of thirty-two thousand men is enormously outnumbered by the Midianites when God tells him, ‘You have too many men.’ He instructs Gideon to release anyone who is afraid, and Gideon loses two-thirds of his army. Now he has only ten thousand men. Again, the Lord says, ‘There are still too many men,’ and reduces Gideon’s army to three hundred men. At that moment, the odds had to be a million to one. And it even gets better! God directs Gideon to attack the Midianites with trumpets and pitchers. Now for the real kicker: Israel wins!
Why did God do it like that? Because if Gideon had attacked with thirty-two thousand men and won, the Israelites would have thought that God didn’t provide much help, and God would have received limited credit. But God is worthy of more. God desires and deserves complete credit. And when three hundred men defeat a massive army with trumpets and pitchers, God receives all the glory (see Judges 7).
Why? The reason is a victory like that overcomes all odds. Too frequently, our prayers revolve around requesting God to increase our odds of winning. We would like everything in our favour. But maybe God wants the odds to oppose us so we can encounter a miracle of divine proportions. Faith is trusting God no matter how hopeless the odds are. Our impossible circumstances are chances to experience a new height of God’s glory. Are you facing a situation that, humanly speaking, is beyond your ability to cope with it? Read this: ‘Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God’ (2 Corinthians 3:5 NKJV). Nice write-up. Who is the author of this and what ministry is it? |
Christianity Etc › Think About It. How Did The Authors Know What Jesus Prayed? by kppo(op): 11:47am On Jan 22, 2025 |
The bible says that in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus left His disciples at a distance while He (Jesus) went further ahead to pray ALONE.
So my question is, if Jesus was ALONE when He prayed, how did the authors of the gospels know what Jesus said? Nobody heard Him (Jesus) while He prayed because they (the disciples) were some distance away and besides the bible says the disciples were asleep. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Was Jesus Perfect On Earth? by kppo(m): 3:57pm On Jan 15, 2025 |
Daejumong: ‘Hi Daejumong, was Jesus perfect while on earth in human form?’
Jesus is the Son of God and came to the world in human form, born of a woman and grew like every normal guy! He was born without sin but with a human flesh that predisposes to Sin!
Regarding perfection, I would like to look into the scriptures:
Matt 5:48 ‘’Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Here Christ didn’t ask people to be perfect like Him but like God the Father!
Mark 10:18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone’’ Here Christ said no one is good except God. That He shouldn’t be called good!
Hebrews 5 7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him Verse 8/9- Christ learned obedience from His sufferings and later was made perfect to become the source of salvation for all!
Jesus as the son of God is perfect but while in the world in human flesh, it appears He was not. He however attained back His Godly perfect state immediately He rose from the dead!
Pastors, Bible scholars and mature Christians with better/contrary answers can put in the comment section. I think Jesus was perfect even before He rose from the dead. Jesus Christ was the SPOTLESS lamb of God. Remember in the old testament, the lambs that were sacrificed had to be WITHOUT BLEMISH. That is why Jesus Christ as the lamb of God also had to be perfect to be an acceptable sacrifice. |
