@OP You are right. It requires more than firepower. The bible says:

[[Zechariah 4:6 KJV]] Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Christianity EtcRe: What Does The Bible Say About Interracial Marriage? by kppo(m): 6:11pm On May 20
I think Moses married another woman from another race according to the bible:

[[Numbers 12:1 KJV]] And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

So God permits interracial marriages because He punished Miriam (Moses' sister) for speaking against Moses' interracial marriage.
Christianity EtcRe: UFO File Disclosure Could Shatter Christian Beliefs by kppo(m): 5:58pm On May 20
There are UFOs in the bible, so the disclosure should not be a surprise to Christians. In the book of Ezekiel chapter 1, the bible talks of "living creatures". Those are the aliens. Then the bible also describes their spaceship as "wheels within a wheel". That's how Ezekiel described flying saucers back in his day. He also described the many lights on the flying saucer as having "many eyes". (See attached picture).

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:
[[Ezekiel 1:15-21 KJV]] 15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. 16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. 18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. 19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. 21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Should I Speak A Language I Don't Understand by kppo(m): 5:44pm On May 14
[[1 Corinthians 14:1-28 KJV]] 1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. 6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. 26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Foreign AffairsRe: Soldier Who Put Cigarette In Mouth Of Virgin Mary Statue Will Be Disciplined-IDF by kppo(m): 4:44pm On May 10
I think God is trying to convey a message with the actions of these soldiers. First, it was the statue of Jesus. Now, it's a statue of Mary. God may be saying that idolatry is present in some quarters of Christianity. These statues are like idols that some Christians are worshipping. No wonder Israelis of the Jewish religion (Judaism), consider Christians to be idol worshippers. God said in the first and second commandment, that you shall have no other gods before me; and you shall not make any graven image...These statues of Jesus and Mary that the Israeli soldiers mock, are graven images that violate the second commandment. Christians of all denominations should take a hint and refrain completely from having and revering these statues (idols) of Jesus and Mary.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi May Be The Biggest Loser In 2027 by kppo(m): 5:00pm On May 06
Validated:
I love Peter Obi, but I think his latest move was a fatal political suicide.

With NDC splitting opposition votes, APC has a greater chance for reelection come 2027. Except ADC loses its cases, and it is deregistered or leadership handed over to Nafiu Bala Gombe, the opposition will again split its about 16m votes into two and hand presidency back to Tinubu.

Come 2031, power will shift to the North naturally, meaning Obi cannot contest. The coast would then be clear for Kwankwaso and Atiku to slug it out.

All those supporting PO move are selfish political rent seekers like the Okada rider, who used Obi to get to the NASS and later deflect.

My suggestion to Obi and NDC is this, reenergise the opposition by rekindling the coalition. If possible, allow ADC to present Atiku, so long as the the pending cases are resolved and a single term agreement is reached with Atiku. I mean, a furm written agreement signed by all parties. Otherwise, as it was in 2023, wherein LP coukd not man 40% of it polling units, NDC does not seem to have the structure to checkmste APC at the polls, so we are heading to the same argument of "we won, but our votes were stolen". Thereafter, the courts will do the needful.

As for Atiku, he should also put Nigeria interest above self. If AA feels the country is drifting into nothingness, he could shelve his ambition 2027, support a united opposition under NDC . Get Obi and Dickson in a room, trash out your differences, unify the opposition and take back power from APC. I thought this was the Ibadan Agreement.
I had a dream this morning that Peter Obi fell into a ditch. The first thing that came to my mind about the dream was his recent move from ADC to NDC. The dream seems to be saying that his last move from ADC to NDC can be likened to falling into a ditch.
Car TalkRe: I Never Knew Owning A Car In Nigeria Was This Expensive Until I Calculated Every by kppo(m): 4:44pm On May 06
ridevendor:
Honestly…

I used to think people were exaggerating when they complained about maintaining a car in Nigeria.

Until I sat down one day and calculated everything properly.

And I won’t lie… I was shocked.

Let’s Break It Down

This is just an average car owner trying to maintain a decent vehicle.

Not even luxury.

Fuel

Depending on movement:
₦10,000 – ₦30,000+ weekly

And if you move around a lot?
Even worse.

Maintenance

This one humbles people fast.

* Oil servicing
* Brake pads
* Suspension
* Tyres
* Battery

One small issue can suddenly become:

> ₦80k
> ₦150k
> ₦300k

Just like that.

Nigerian Roads

This one deserves its own section honestly.

Bad roads damage:

* Tyres
* Shock absorbers
* Alignment
* Underbody

Sometimes it feels like the road is fighting the car personally 😅

Other Hidden Costs

People forget:

* Car wash
* Parking
* Insurance
* Documents
* Traffic stress
* Unexpected repairs

Everything adds up quickly.

WHAT SURPRISED ME MOST

I finally understood why many people now:

* Use Bolt more
* Rent cars occasionally instead
* Or delay buying another vehicle entirely

Because owning a car in Nigeria today is almost like managing another responsibility on its own.

THEN I UNDERSTOOD SOMETHING

A lot of people complain about:

* Car rental prices
* Transport prices
* Driver costs

But after seeing what car owners spend regularly…

I started understanding the business side better.

Especially for operators managing multiple vehicles.

MY HONEST OPINION

At this point, reliability matters more than “forming”.

I’d rather use:

* A well-maintained car
* With peace of mind

Than force luxury and end up stranded somewhere.

LET’S DISCUSS

Car owners here:

What shocked you most after buying your car?

* Fuel?
* Maintenance?
* Nigerian roads?
* Spare parts?

Or do you think people are still exaggerating?

FINAL THOUGHT

Owning a car in Nigeria is no longer just about buying the vehicle…

The real challenge starts AFTER purchase.

#thread
I have owned a car before and it was like a liability not an asset. It was draining so much money out of me that I stopped paying my tithe because the car was like a devourer devouring my funds. So it didn't pain me at all when my mum sold it off without my permission. Now I am carless and happy because I don't have to pay all these car-related payments that the OP has aptly outlined.

Many years ago, I had a telepathic revelation that rapture was happening and it was happening principally through the Living Faith Church (a.k.a Winners). And I think it involved being taken away to another planet (maybe heaven) in a spaceship.

Fast forward to the current day, Living Faith Church is building a new edifice called the 'Ark'. It recently dawned on me that the Ark could be the 'spaceship' that will rapture people to heaven like a modern-day Noah's Ark.
Christianity EtcRe: Who Do You Think The Holy Spirit Is? by kppo(m): 3:43pm On May 01
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God Almighty. He is the 3rd person of the trinity. He was present at creation. He came upon various individuals in the old testament of the bible. In the new testament, He landed upon Jesus Christ in the form of a dove. After Jesus ascended, He came on the day of Pentecost and dwelt in the apostles and disciples of Jesus Christ. Today, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

eddie7:
STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES JOSEPH OLASUNKANMI TEGBE AS MINISTER OF POWER

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of Power, subject to confirmation by the Senate.

The nomination has been transmitted to the Senate for screening and confirmation in accordance with the Constitution.

The nomination follows the resignation of the former Minister, Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down from office to pursue elective office.

Mr Tegbe, from Oyo State, is a fiscal and economic reform expert with over 35 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors.

He is a former Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he led wide-ranging initiatives in fiscal policy reform, institutional transformation, and governance. He has also advised key government institutions and private sector organisations on strategic reforms, regulatory frameworks, and investment structuring.

He is at present the Director General and Global Liaison for the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), where he is responsible for strengthening bilateral development cooperation between Nigeria and the People’s Republic of China.

The NCSP also coordinates engagements with public sector stakeholders to advance economic and social development in line with FOCAC objectives.

Mr Tegbe’s experience includes significant engagements within the power sector, particularly in regulatory and institutional reform involving agencies such as the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET).

His nomination is expected to strengthen further ongoing efforts to reform the power sector, enhance grid stability, and attract sustainable investment in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President expects the Minister-Designate, upon confirmation, to bring his extensive expertise to bear to advance critical reforms and deliver improved outcomes for Nigerians in the power sector.

Thank God for elevating Joseph Tegbe (JT) from glory to glory. He is definately representing. 👍🏽

Keep Moving Forward

… See more
Today's topic reminds me of an animated movie I watched many years ago about the catch phrase "Keep Moving Forward". It was about a brilliant young boy who somehow time-travelled to the future where he was a renowned scientist in the future. The young boy wondered how all the achievements in the future could be possible because he didn't currently measure up to it at all. But they kept telling him in the future that all he needs to do is to "keep moving forward", and he will arrive at the seemingly far-fetched future. The title of the movie is "Meet The Robinsons".

In the words of Mercy Chinwo in her song "We Move":
I'm going forward, forward ever
For the Lord has gone ahead of me,
To make every crooked way straight o ah ah ah;
It is forward ever, backward never o o o.

You are going forward, forward ever
For the Lord has gone ahead of you,
To make every crooked way straight o ah ah ah;
It is forward ever, backward never o o o.

I honestly don't know why more people are not complaining about the high cost of data and how it finishes so quickly.

Before they increased the data prices, I used to buy ₦3,500 15GB data that lasts for one whole month. But after they increased the data prices, the ₦3,500 7GB data that I buy, only lasts for one week. Infact, nowadays, that ₦3,500 7GB data only lasts for five days. This means that I am spending about ₦21,000 on data per month. It is quite overboard.

If only the regulators of the telecom industry could step in to sanitize the exorbitant prices of data for the sake of the people. NCC please do something. The cost of data is just too high.

I honestly don't know why the Federal Government keeps borrowing. It's like a bad habit. And it keeps getting passed from administration to administration. I thought Buhari had a borrowing problem, but now that Tinubu is in power, I am disappointed that the borrowing continues. When will they learn that the borrower is servant to the lender. And borrowing is like a trap that can enslave one for a very long time.

Tinubu you are trying. Things are not as bad as they were three years ago. But you need to stop borrowing. The more you borrow, the more you dig the debt pit that we are already in.

Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? 6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Hello EVERYONE! I hope that you’re doing great EVERYONE! I just wanted to let you all know that, JESUS of Nazareth (YESUA) is on the EARTH already, Jireh! Excorsize your precious hearts now as you read this message, because, there’s even no time now! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY WHAT YOU HAVE CONSTISTENTLY BEEN READING IN THE ADULTERATED, the, SO CALLED, the ‘BIBLE’. YESUA,(JESUS) is not coming back again from the skies as you have been successfully misled by the Romans Empires; courtesy of the so called, the ‘Bible’. This is the very instrument that has been in the operations more than one thousand years ago; raking in the money, to fuel the entire EMPIRES. YESUA’S SECOND coming, is the same as HIS FIRST! Meaning, HE, born as a baby, grew up, becoming a grown man and has been going through the life here as everyone else. Since HE was born in 1973, fortunately and unfortunately, HE has been going through everything in this current life as everyone else. STAY BLESSED EVERYONE!
If Jesus comes to this world again by being born, He would have to be born by a virgin again. The prophecy of the virgin birth has already been fulfilled in Jesus' first coming. That is why His second coming is as a fully grown God-man.

What does it mean to be one with nature? And if it is what I think, then your answer is nullified by the fact that many today would claim one with nature with their knowledge of good and evil.
I think to be one with nature means:
1. you get food from your natural surroundings just like animals without having to sweat for it; and
2. females don't have to labour in pain before they give birth like is the case with animals.

In short, to be one with nature would simply mean no more experiencing of the curse God put on man and woman.

Maybe God is warning you that an action of yours can lead you to hell fire. It is like the opposite of Moses' encounter with the burning bush that wasn't consumed. But yours was being consumed by the fire which represents God - the Consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29).

I advise you to check your life to see if there is any thing that you are doing that may lead you to hell fire. There is a list of hell fire worthy actions in Matthew 23.

We haven't had electric power this year. And even when we had it last year, it was low current that doesn't carry fridge, TV, pumping machine, etc. It has been darkness throughout this year. It reminds me of the two times there was darkness in the bible:
1. The plague of darkness before the final plague of the death of the first-born in the book of Exodus; and
2. The darkness in the land when Jesus Christ was crucified.

I don't know which of the above mentioned darkness we are currently experiencing in Nigeria, particularly Edo State. May God have mercy and deliver us from the power of darkness into His marvellous light in Jesus' name. Amen.

[5] Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,
[6] who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

What is this new covenant?
Read the passage of scripture below to get the answer to your question:

[[Hebrews 8:7-13 KJV]] 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
