Here is what I can say on a public forum:

1. It was a panel interview. Can't remember the exact number that interviewed me but they weren't less than 4.

2. The questions are mainly personality based questions, in many cases focusing on your CV.

3. Be well dressed and read about NNPC. Your dressing and knowledge about NNPC will be tested and graded.

4. On the pay, I'm not sure it is right to reveal nnpc pay package on a public forum. But all I can say is that don't be deceived by what you see on the offer letter. They only include basic salary on the employment letter. Overall, the pay package for non-management staff is fairly good but certainly not the best in the world. For management staffs, the pay package is maaaad.

5. They did refund the TP (for all candidates) but it was after several months. For those that used Abuja address in their application or CV, you will receive little or no TP refund.

Believe me, you will almost regret using Abuja address if you are successful and they call for new hire orientation. *lips sealed*

Considering Atiku's plan for NNPC (which is to sell it), I have been wondering what will happen if APL drops this week and Atiku is eventually declared the winner.

Does he have the power to rescind the appointment?

I am sure before he gets sworn in, settles down, nominates his ministers e.t.c, a lot of time would have elapsed. The issue of "rescinding appointment" (which in my opinion is not possible) would certainly not come up.

News getting to me now states if APL doesn't come today or probably tomorrow, it's due to outstanding TF payments. Everyone has to be paid before the letter comes out. If everyone is paid today, we get it tomorrow.

If everyone is paid by tomorrow, then it's Wednesday. Payments are being disbursed quickly, so it should all be sorted by end of today or tomorrow hopefully. All in All its coming out this very week.
This might not be what some people wanna hear. But that's the update I just got

Good morning Taiwo, the entire list has been subjected to a review once more between Monday to Friday before transmission to the ICT department for upload of APL alert and wiping of database. All Directors and representatives of the various tiers will sit on the list of accepted candidates by Monday .... Have a nice day.

if the APLs are not sent out on the specific dates mentioned by easymoneysniper, there are no issues. Its still September!

25.6m people applying for NNPC jobs is statistically impossible.

Nigeria has a population of 180m. 25.6m means 1 out of every 7 Nigerians applied.

I doubt 3 people in my family of 100 applied. My mum and sisters did not apply. My wife and children did not apply. All carpenters and mechanics in my area did not apply.

So where is the 1 out of every 7 coming from?

Some stats are common sense. They cannot be true.

Nigeria has a population of 180m.
44% are 0-14 years of age, 53% between 15-64 years, and 2.7% above 65 years.
That means the number of adults of working age is 53% ie 95.4m. The literacy rate in Nigeria is 60%, that means only 57m are able to read and write from the adult population (an illiterate cannot apply to NNPC).

Now, that adult population includes people between 15-20 years, who could not have applied for NNPC. Let's say those are 5m. We have 52m left.

Now, are you saying 25m out of 52m (1 out of every 2 educated adult Nigerians) applied for NNPC job?

We have not even taken out those who are still in the universities, Polytechnics and COEs but are above 20 years.

It is just statistically impossible.
Sirvingeo:
The people that registered for that job is not more than 250k . An Nnpc official that addressed us said it . He said most people didn’t qualify that was why they reduce the number for the CBT to 60k . And I was even surprised when he pegged the interview list at 9000.
After that I was wondering where the million applicant information emanated from. Nigeria bloggers are liars .
Nice analysis Jarus, though my submission to mosgoon earlier shows that the number of applicants can't be less than 400,000 or even 800,000 as mentioned in some posts.

Issues with passport size not uploading, discouraging even so many qualified people from applying that made me abandon registration from 13th march only to wake up on the last day 26th of march to register, morover, the few i mentioned are just a tip of the variables you haven't put into consideration sir, just checking another something
[quote author=GeniusOla post=81734080]
There are variables at both ends of the argument but there really is no hard and fast rule about online applications. If there are difficulties like you mentioned, the cybercafes are there. My point is this, the 'variables' that would discourage anyone from applying to NNPC would not be much, hence the large number of applicants.

even with this condition (despite it being valid as it is not a negligible variable) , that estimation is far from being accurate. If you are familiar with market sizing estimations on a professional level or similar, you'd know why
True but not in the level of 800,000 or 400,000 applying. The mere thought of working in NNPC will make some apply knowing fully that they don't meet the criteria.

Not more than 28 years, 1st class or 2-1, 2-2 with msc, just checking somthing
Won't stop others from applying counting on luck to get them through. That maybe the reason for the huge number applying and being reduced to 60,000 (not sure) after the selection. Anything is possible

don't want to go into details but you omitted LOTS of variables that makes your estimation above wrong. That aside, your estimation is also satisfying Jarus' clause of ''grandmother, mechanic , gateman'' as you have no curtains on your estimation

He isn't far from the truth considering that unemployed graduates also part of the artisans population. The below may also help:

I opened an account with fidelity bank due to the nice interest rate. However, they began by deducting for sms alert for weekly account statement, I nor send them? I began with 10k, then deposited 40k later on. I don't even understand the rubbish they were doing on the account. They even took interest tax from me for withdrawing N900 for airtime recharge.

I don't know if I am wrong or something, but the minimal interest that should be paid to me by fidelity bank is NGN2,450 which is the result of 5% interest on NGN49,000 as they stated on their website. Anyone who has a better understanding should kindly shed more light.

The mistake is that you are calculating using flat rate? Interest is calculated per annum
