So I came back today from hospital with a sad face

I was so dizzy yesterday and my hubby forced me to the hospital, I had to run all the plenty test and was scheduled for scan

Blood pt came out positive
But the scan said he can’t really see anything
He was even arguing with me if I am pregnant till I showed him result from the lab

Last week I did scan just on my own in a good scan center, cos I had cramps Nd I was scared of miscarriage as I have experienced it b4 and the sonograper measured it to be 5wks 1day and said everything is ok that they is gestational sac but no fetal pole but he said I shldnt worry that they dnt see fetal pole till 8 weeks


So why is scan center seeing at least gestational sac and hospital is not seeing anything by the way both are pelvic scan

And both urine and blood shows positive

My breast is still heavy
No cramps or pain
No bleeding
Not stressed in anyway


Also no UTI that’s the only good news

Like I've read on this thread where mamas answer people with similar issue, they usually say you should try another hospital/scan centre or wait for like two weeks to repeat the scan. Some scans can give one high BP. Pls calm down, all is well.

I think the best thing is to try another hospital/scan centre bcs I know you are so worried and can't wait to repeat scan in two weeks time. Pls be calm and be positive about your pregnancy.

Thank God I don’t have nausea for now and I only get a little bit sick in the mornings but perfectly ok at noon

Please my question is this
My boobs are so painful anytime I wake up from sleep I have tried lying by side but I will always wake up with painful boobs tho it eases off within the day if I don’t lie down again

Some days I see very thick discharge like pap is it normal(sorry for the disgusting info) is it normal??

My nipple sometimes becomes so itchy I have used coconut oil or ori but it doesn’t stop, I have even changed my bathing soap still same thing

I think my bladder has lost control the trip to the toilet is no longer fun any way to help reduce it

I feel like a bunny, cos I crave for carrot pls is excess carrot ok for early pregnancy I eat minimum of 15 sticks of carrot in one sitting

Well, I think itchy nipples are normal, I experienced it with my last pregnancy before I had miscarriage, it was so itchy I had to scratch and scratch with my hand and I'm also experiencing same now.

The heavy boobs is also normal, that's one of the signs I get before missed period. The boobs becomes fuller and tender.

For the toilet trips, I read it's normal but I don't really experience it, even though my pregnancy app says I'll be experiencing frequent toilet trips since last week, I only experience it when I drink a lot of water and when I had UTI in my first pregnancy, pls check for UTI, if not, then maybe you are one of the people they wrote about in articles I read about early pregnancy symptoms.

For the carrots, I have no idea. What I crave a lot and take a lot is agbalumo that I'm even taking now. I have been wondering if too much of it is safe for me. But one rule I gave myself is, 'too much of everything is bad'... especially that I don't know what caused the miscarriage I had, I have been very careful with this one.

Before you quit work, first what's the reason for the previous miscarriages? Was it first or 2nd trimester?
It might not be your work affecting you.
You need to know what caused it in the previous ones in order to prevent it happening this time around.
Also you can ask for like 3 months leave with/"without pay so that you can rest well and scale through the first trimester.

Didn't the doctor put you on progesterone?
Consider just taking sometime off work if possible
instead of quitting completely and speak positively to yourself and your baby. The MS might have been aggravated by the malaria you're treating.

Thanks ma. Amen. The doctor didn't put me on progesterone, he only said I should come back after one month for checkup and scan. I'll take time off work.

I started the progesterone when I clocked 6 weeks that threat was detected in scan. I stopped working because am still on bed rest. I did scan last week at 8 weeks and some days , scan shows everything is ok. But am still on the medication and bed rest

OK. Doctor confirmed me pregnant today. Though, I'm still surprised bcs I thought it was just malaria I had as I have been admitted in the hospital since Wednesday. Doc only said I should come back after one month for checkup and scan. I'm also considering quitting work bcs this pregnancy seem to start rough as I can't hold down any food which makes me very weak and sick with lots of vomits and bcs of a history of miscarriage.

So so sorry dear. I had mine exactly two weeks today @ 6weeks plus. Just got home from work and started bleeding the rest is history. I have not been able to forgive myself because i didn't start taking progesterone immediately i got a positive pregnancy result like i did for my first. I was still waiting to have a scan at 7weeks to confirm heartbeat. I feel so empty. You are not going to have another loss. Keep declaring with your mouth. Consult and work with a good gynecologist once you miss your period.

Thanks so much ma. And sorry for yours too. Double for our troubles. I have been feeling sick since Sunday with no improvement despite the drugs and injection. I was advised to take a PT which I did with a test strip this morning but it came out negative. Though, I've not had my period since then but I felt my ovulation Sat/Sun. I hope to get a positive result soon. My health is a bit better today.
Pls, must I take progesterone immediately I test positive or just reduce stress?

Sumtyms this miscarriages happen as a result of hormonal imbalance, chromosomal abnormalities, infection etc...if the baby isn’t forming well, the body has a way of getting rid of it also... early last year I had a miscarriage at 7wks, it was called a missed abortion or missed miscarriage, the baby heartbeat just stopped, I actually found out a week after just because I went for an ultrasound and they didn’t find a heartbeat, after 2 weeks I started spotting and my body was trying to get rid of it, so my gynae asked that I take misoprostol (swallowed and inserted deep into the vagina)to get rid of it.

I have to also mention though that I had pcos so I guess my hormonal imbalance also affected the pregnancy in terms of growth of the baby. So when I took in again in April, b4 then I did a Hormonal test because I was seeing a fertility doc who asked me for some test result, my progesterone was low, so she started me on progesterone drug (duphaston) which I kept take it even after I found out I was pregnant. Progesterone is very important in early pregnancy because it supports the growth of the foetus until the placenta is mature enough to take on the responsibility of producing pregnancy hormones.
Sorry for the long story oo, just wanted u to understand a few things. Don’t worry God will bless u with another baby in no time.

I experienced same miscarriage last year and it is exactly painful and the evacuation is also even painful more than my two labour.
The doctors always don't always have a reason for miscarriage most times they say.maybe the baby is not meant to be or the baby probably would have defects
2. I don't think there is an actual time frame for trying again some doctors say wait since months but in my own case I don't even know whether I waited it just happened again. I had a miscarriage second week in January and my LMP was March.
3. hmnnnn I think you should put out fear and every negative thoughts.
after another positive pregnancy again check in with your doctors immediately.
after the pregnancy in April I started spotting around May but I was given drugs and advised complete bed rest at home, hence my husband was doing all the house chores and taking care of DD.

First of all my sympathy. I have been there. As a first time hubby too.. We lost our first preggy but we knew the reason. Wifey went to throw something away and the swinging of the hand caused it.

There is no definite answer for how soon to start trying. Some get preggy again the next month, some wait for three months, it is factor of the woman's body as she needs time to heal abs rebalance. Ours took 6 months. Start the ministry of at the other room as soon as you are ready. Preggy will come.

Finally... Well doc prescribed a drug for my wife immediately the second pregnancy came. Cost 15k or so and she took it for three months. I can't remember the name. When she comes back... I'd ask. According to doc, the drug helps prevent miscarriage .

But above all, reduce wahala during the first three months and if possible have bed rest. Your baby is still like an egg then, so very fragile. Avoid traveling too. We learned this the hard way.

Thanks a lot sir. Many people said it's stress. I know I stressed myself a lil during the festive season bcs hubby and I went to celebrate new year with his family, and being the only woman in the house with MIL I did virtually all the kitchen things. I can't really say I regret going there sha as I was the one who forced hubby to go celebrate with his family.

But I've learnt my lessons in a hard way, I promise myself not to do pass myself next time.

Its indeed a painful experience. God will give you and your DH the strength to bear the loss.

Doctors usually investigate why spontaneous miscarriages happen so it can be avoided in subsequent pregnancies but missed miscarriages are difficult to pin point.

You can start trying again as soon as you're ready mentally, psychologically, emotionally and physically. I took in 5 months after my evacuation. Be strong sister.

Nobody ever says miscarriage pain is so painful, and then the evacuation, the worst pain I've ever had in my life.

Please I have some questions to ask:

1. Why can't doctors have a reason for a miscarriage?
2. How soon is healthy to start trying for another baby? (even though DH says we should hold on for a year to recover from the trauma of the miscarriage, but I can't wait that long)
3. What is the likelihood of another miscarriage after a miscarriage? (Cos I'm so scared, as it's not a good experience)

Oh.. What a relief! People are just saying it's corona.. I've been scared. But my mum and hubby kept assuring me that it's just normal symptom.

But in a way ehn, I kinda like the lack of smell bcs no smells that trigger nausea or vomiting...

I have a problem of loss of smell and tastelessness.. I can't perceive anything, neither can I taste anything in my mouth, everything I eat is just bland..

Pls oo, does pregnancy cause tastelessness and loss of smell, or does catarrh cause it, bcs catarrh has been disturbing me since last week. This tastelessness started on Friday. Pls help ooo, some people are saying its coro oo..
