Do I really need a special cloth for baby for naming? I see some sets of clothes tagged 'naming clothes' in d market, but not so enthusiastic about them. Can baby just use random clothes for naming? Or it's 'ideal' or 'proper' to buy the special naming clothes? Thanks.

Hello teamies! It's been a while here. Sorry, I've been a little busy with work. How are we doing? How is waddling?
Hmm, at 34 weeks+ my tired is already tired, I can't just wait to have LO in my hands. Wow, who else is experiencing this forgetfulness thing? I forget everything! Imagine going back to my book to check the spelling of "English Studies" while writing on the board! I have to sit in the kitchen till I finish cooking, if not burnt undone food is what I'll end up with. It is well oo..
We should be rounding up shopping now. My shopping is at least 99% done, I've washed some baby clothes, arranged them and also arranged hospital bag, just waiting for the D-Day.

Who has officially entered 3rd trimester? I just came back from my monthly antenatal and doctor gave me appointment for 4th, meaning twice a month from now officially ushering in the 3rd trimester.

Hello mama.. Yea, God is ever faithful. We thank God for the journey so far. We are in the third trimester too, I can't wait to meet baby soon.
I started feeling heaviness in my vjay last week, I feel like the whole weight is on my vjay, I'm guessing baby is already head down. If you see the way I walk now ehn, you will think delivery is tomorrow. Lol.
Shopping is more than half way done, like I was telling DH yesterday that even if baby decides to come now, everything needed is available just some minor shoppings left.
I see you are really bouncing well with LO. Safe delivery to us all.

Is there a best position for placenta?
Or anyhow is OK?

Then about gender scan,is there a special place/scan to go for it?

When you go for scan, on d printout there will position of placanta (anterior, posterior, low lying), weight of baby, length, amniotic fluid (much, normal or little), position of baby (head down, breech, stable, unstable), baby's sex (XX or XY), edd, gestastational age (in weeks).

For d position of placenta, I think the placenta changes positions or something like that, bcs my first scan at 11 weeks, d placenta was posterior low lying which d sonographer said I should be careful with bending then as d position of d placenta can cause bleeding and he said it's normal for d placenta to be low lying in early pregnancy. Subsequent scans show that d placenta has moved up and is anterior (meaning its in between d baby and d tummy). Posterior means d placenta is at d back, that is between the baby and mother's back.
I read that low lying placenta during late pregnancy can affect vaginal delivery as d placenta either covers part of d cervix or all the cervix.
If ur sonographer doesn't give written/printout result that contains all I wrote above(bcs my antenatal hospital does not give us result, they only tell us when we ask and put d result in our files) u can ask him/her during d scan session and he/she will tell u and show u on d screen.

A FTM, i don't know if my baby is kicking or not, but for sure i know it moves, when am i suppose to feel the kick, or is it that i ve not been able to differentiate kicks from movement.
My last antenantal Dr told me is kicking because when he listen to the hrt beat he felt the kick.

Hello mama, baby is kicking well. This last week, I didn't feel much movements that I was so worried, DH assured that everything is fine. According to online research, with an anterior placenta (which is the position of my placenta according to scan) an expecting mom feels little or no baby moves/kicks. I'm 27 weeks too, some days I feel very painful jabs that I wonder how a tiny being will punch so hard, esp when I just finished lunch. If your placenta is anterior like mine, feeling kicks might be subtle, if not, very soon you will be the one complaining that the kicks are too much when the Kung fu starts

Let me try to answer your questions.

1. All 3 have different functions. The bassinet is for sleeping. The bed and bag is first à bag and a temporary bed for short naps or changing mats, the rocker is to lounge.
Use your rocker and pad it well for a newborn.
For those who haven't shopped yet, get the rocker bassinet. It serves as a bassinet and a rocker and baby can use it till 3 years

2. Size 1 is underrated but very important. Size 1 diapers are made to protect the umbilical cord. Besides the difference jn kg between a szie 1 and 2 is 1kg
Size 1 is 2-5kg
Size 2 is 3-6kg.
So even if your baby was born as a 4kg,the size 1 will still fit for more than a week or month sef.
Buy small packs of the size 1. Maybe the one of 12 count. You can buy like 2 of it for at least the first week till cord falls off.

3. Yes. Wash your baby clothes.
Some of these clothes stay in the container for months and then for weeks in the stores or on the shelves. In the Era of all these diseases, please get warm soapy water (just a little soap), wash the sleepsuits, dry and iron. It doesn't take away the newness.

4. Baby sac. It's for sleeping or used when there's cold. Can be used for naming if it's cute. I used it for my first son's naming too.
Lol at lured to buy.
Biko, don't let anyone convince you to buy what you don't need. That's why it's important to always go to the market with a list.

5. You over need flannels.
Flannels do the real work. Shawls are just for outings and naming. You need nothing less than 4 flannels sef.

My cappo good day and happy bumping.since you have baby rocker and baby bed, I don't think there's any need for you to buy baby bassinet. the bassinet is mainly to put the baby inside maybe in the sitting room when people come to visit I bought it because I don't have a rocker and I don't have a baby cot and I will not like visitors to be carrying the baby up and down whenever I put to bed due to what is going on in Nigeria now.
You can buy Moses' bed and just put the baby inside when you put to bed just in the sitting room and then you take the baby to the room whenever he or she wants to sleep.
this is my third pregnancy and I've come to learn that a lot of things you buy as a first time mum will end up being useless.
concerning diapers I've never bought newborn diapers because my babies were 3.5 each and if I buy newborn diapers I just feel maybe within 2 weeks the baby may not be able to wear it again so I go for size 2.you may just buy very few newborn diapers maybe just 10 in 1 then let the rest be from size 2.
Me I don't have strength to wash new clothes so I only watch the ones I bought as okrika, any new one packaged I cover it with the blood of Jesus and weae the baby.Even the okrika, I don't wash them before I deliver because washing them before you deliver in a compound where you are not the only one living says a lot so I only wear the brand new clothes for the baby for the first few weeks and then wash those ones later.

Okay. Lol at 'cover with the blood of Jesus'. Exactly my thought about washing baby clothes before birth, I've been thinking where and how to dry them since I don't stay alone.

Pls I have a question. When for baby shopping last week but I have some worries/concerns.

1. Pls, bassinet or diaper travel bag that is convertible to bed, which is more useable? I mean, which one does baby use more and longer? I have a baby bed as gift already, just thinking of something baby can use outside the room. Like to put baby in the sitting room for visitors. Mum is suggesting Moses Basket, but I don't think I like that. Or do I just use a rocker cos I got a rocker already? Though I read that rockers are not too safe for baby sleeping. I got the Fisher Price infant to toddler one. I'm confused.
2. Diapers; pls what size of diapers should I buy? The store man gave me a size 2 pack of Kisskids, I want to get more diapers, do I need d newborn or size 1 or just buy more size 2?
3. Do I necessarily need to wash baby clothes that are packed brand new before use?
4. There's one zip up swaddle abi blanket I was lured to buy pls what exactly is it use? Is it for sleeping or for outside use? Like can it be used for baby naming?
5. Pls what's d use of flannel? I got a shawl, do I need flannels?
Pls help a FTM oo, I don't want to over buy things, esp things I'll not need.

Thanks for checking on us Cappo. We are fine ,we bless God. Though I was having this cramp feeling on Wednesday and yesterday, but i no longer feel it anymore.I had same in my first pregnancy and when i got to the hospital to complain the doctor said it was normal that it was as a result of my uterus stretching or something,he sha spoke big big English and afterwards prescribed paracetamol for me.So this time around,i no kuku go hospital as i have experienced it before at this exact time,i just,took the paracetamol too.I guess it worked to an extent. Antenatal has been going well too.For the gender,the last time I had a scan,the sonographer was not sure of the sex she was seeing,she said it's like it's a girl but she couldn't see the genital clearly because of the position of the baby, so she said she hopes the next time I do it,it will be more visible and evident.So for now, just put the XX there if there is any change subsequently,i will update you. Shopping just dey bottom of my priority lists now o,lol.Before November ending sha,i should sort it out by God's Grace. Lest I forget, waist pain and hooking of leg is a constant thing now.May God see us through o.Happy bumping to us all.

Hmm.. I didn't have MS with this pregnancy that I was always wondering if a pregnancy is really there or not unlike other pregnancies that started with heavy MS but still ended in MC. I was so shocked when scan said it's a baby girl bcs I was so convinced that no ms most likely means baby boy.

Checked gender on Monday that was my antenatal and we are expecting another Princess (XX)!!!
Done quite some shopping through the benevolence of a soul full of sugarandspice in mama zaynie's.
I must confess my prenatals has been everyother day this time around. Mostly on days I have swallow for dinner so I can wrap them inside, as the calcium and vitamin c seems to big for my throat these days. Maybe I will just stick to folic acid daily.

I had a mixed feeling when baby's gender was confirmed XX, I wanted an XY despite it being a first baby. Hubby hand sef fall as him see XX as him don fumble finish say na boy bcs him be strong man, as twin wey him be, since him no get twins this time around, say e must to be boy, him no know say no bi by mouth or so called strength.

Glory be to God. At last baby opened leg for sex to be seen and it is an answer to my prayer. Am so excited. I went shopping last week and a day before the shopping,I went for scan but baby refused to open leg. I went for the shopping anyway since the woman that took said she only had chance that day. I bought some pink stuff with faith while others were neutral but I didn't buy many wears.
Hubby kept laughing at me and always asking if it's another boy and I would say then it's God's will. My second son dreamt that I gave birth to a girl and God did it.

How are we all doing mamas? Am a little confused and I need clarification on some stuff.
My LMP was 22nd April 2021 and that means I should be 16wks gone and EDD should be around 29th Jan 2022.
Now, when I registered for ante natal sometime in June, I did a scan and I was told I was 13wks pregnant as at that time and EDD is give or take 2nd Jan 2022 going with the scan report, that means I should be 20wks now. My bump is more pronounced and am beginning to feel tiny fluttering in my lower pelvic.
I ll be going for another scan in 2wks time. I want to know if the early scan report is more accurate than lmp or sth.

I think you should stick to the LMP. When I went for scan at 11 weeks +, scan gave me 18th Dec., LMP says 11th, another scan at 18 weeks said 10th Dec., the gynea told me to go with d LMP bcs scan dates will keep changing as d pregnancy progresses.
