Collected CV's from who ?
Xtruzz:
It will come towards end of the year. The truth is, not even Mr. President knows the date of the release of APLs. This was part of their management meeting to keep it discrete before Ladan retired.

DPR only collected CVs and left with the word " we will get back to you in due time"
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Department Of Petroleum Resources - 2016 Graduate Trainee &experienced Hire Job by Kuch1: 11:50pm On Jun 27, 2019
All this for what sef? Everyone knows how this recruitment was flawed. You are using big grammar to confuse who ? Use your time and energy to learn how to summarise please.

naijainstinct:
I WRITE FOR THOSE WITH SAGACITY, GREAT DISCERNMENT AND UNDILUTED OBJECTIVITY TO LEARN.

Many of us here, especially those who are unemployed have allowed their emotions to becloud their sense of better reasoning.

The reason why many of you here feel like your world will end if DPR does not employ you is mainly because of the fact that because you scales through the interview of the 2016 recruitment and while basking in the euphoria of the "prospects of a DPR offer" have allowed other wonderful opportunities to pass them. Now, you feel you have inputed so much energy and time and therefore protest is the way out.

I have never been against those who wish to protest, it is your basic right as long as you do so within the ambits of the law and your protest is premised on "substantial evidence" of lawlessness, impunity and/or injustice. In a country where we operate a justice system based on "law of evidence", the million dollar question however in this scenario is "where is the evidence of injustice?"

Information is power and that is what gives some of us an edge over others. Some of us have refused to give up on this recruitment because we are privy to some information not because we are desperate like some others portray themselves to be.

DPR called for applications, DPR invited a number of applicants for test and few for interview and even fewer as successfuls. This is a normal cycle of a 'transparent' recruitment. Were those called for APLs merit or stakeholders candidates? None of us can genuinely answer that question as none of us have the result sheets of our aptitude test/oral interview. One thing is certain, everyone who was called as a successful had the minimum requirement of either an OND for technicians, BSc/BA/BEng for GTs and MSc/MA or relevant experience for EHs. There is a list signed, accepted and acknowledged with the FCC who have also issued a "certificate of compliance" for that recruitment exercise as having met all statutory requirements.

To be fair to DPR and NNPC, there is even still a bit of transparency compared to sister agencies like CBN, FIRS, NCC, NPA and NIMASA to mention a few. At least, they give we common citizens hope to even participate in the recruitment process at all and that is why we can even be here today to debate protest or no protest. When last did CBN or NCC announce an open recruitment? Does anyone here know that CBN, NARSDA and FIRS are currently recruiting with APLs as recent as last week? Needless to mention other 'juicy' and 'less juicy' agencies like NPC, NOSDRA, NAGGW, NBMA, NIPOST, NCC, NIRSAL, FCC etc that conducted secret recruitments between last year till this very moment. DPR's flaw is that they have not closed our portals and few persons come here to give us hope about the recruitment but is that enough to raise a red flag.

The so-called leaked list on twitter got how many retweets again and trended for how many days exactly? That's because no one takes an anonymous handle seriously and I'm very sure all of you twittee activists will dare not use your real twitter handles. LOL.

Let me refresh your memories.......Let's look at well celebrated cases of recruitment scandals and how they ended up;

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/200268-caught-employment-scam-cbn-explains-secret-recruitment.html?amp_markup=1

[b]The Central Bank of Nigeria has said it opted for a secret process of hiring new staff in the past two years because the bank was doing “targeted recruitment”./[b]

The apex bank is at the centre of a recruitment scandal exposed by two newspapers.

A news report published Wednesday by Daily Trust, said the CBN secretly recruited 909 staff between June 2014 and February 2015, in violation of due process and federal character principles.

https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/illegal-recruitment-how-1839-privileged-elites-were-hired-by-cbn-firs-and-nps-group/w1gnt5y

According to the group, 909 Nigerians were secretly recruited by CBN, while FIRS and NPS hired 400 and 530 "privileged elites" respectively.

[b]The Citizens of Impact on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 took to the streets of Abuja to protest what they referred to as"targeted recruitment of some family members of highly placed Nigerians" into various government agencies./

The group alleged that 909 Nigerians were secretly recruited into the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), 400 "privileged elites" into the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and 530 people at the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS).

[b]Convener of the group, Daniel Seun Olatunde said the recruitment was done "under the table" as there was no public advertisement of the positions./[b]

https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/183-federal-ministries-agencies-in-massive-illegal-recruitment/amp/

[b]Almost all federal ministries, departments and agencies have been carrying out illegal mass recruitments, SUNDAY PUNCH gathered on Saturday.

Many government parastatals including the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the Federal Ministry of Finance, 183 out of 185 MDAs had recruited 13,780 staff in recent years.

https://www.today.ng/news/nigeria/house-reps-drop-motion-alleged-ncc-illegal-recruitment-31312/amp

Bold moves by civil society groups to end the menace but have that stopped CBN? Why did the House of Reps suddenly stop probbing NCC's illegal recruitment?

Can we called an advertised recruitment, that saw an aptitude test and oral interview hold in several states of the federation even in the presence of FCC representatives an illegal recruitment?

A junior friend who just got his appointment letter from NASRDA last week only just completed his NYSC late last year but he never rested for a day. Distributing CVs from one place to another, networking and building contacts as much as he could. Some of us have changed jobs more than 3 times since 2016 when DPR announced this recruitment exercise.

I hope through our actions, we don't push DPR into adopting the 'secret recruitment method' which is inherently less cumbersome, less expensive and comes with lesser public scrutiny and lesser controversies. Many of us who applied as GT in 2016, if you are wise enough to have equipped yourself with a higher degree or relevant experience during this period may succesfully apply as and become EHs in the next recruitment which may be next year (from what I have heard).

In summary, there are tons of other opportunities out there. Don't kill yourselves cos of DPR. Even as we wait endlessly, we can still be productive and useful to ourselves. Protest if you must, but remember, if your voice will be heard, dont hide behind anonymous handles and provide substantial evidence of illegality in the recruitment process. Only then, will you be justified. Else, you will make a mockery of yourselves for allowing your lives to be stagnant and absolutely dependent on a 3-year recruitment exercise.

Good luck to us all.

As you guys are planning to protest, suddenly people are now saying calls are about to be made. I will not fall for this. DPR is just protecting it's image. Recruitment was done with since last year. Any APL since then is either replacement or the normal back door. Don't be deceived !! These guys giving false hope are image makers.
That next week will surely come, but not the one for 2016 recruitment, it came and passed last year.

People can lie ! Very soon kidnappers will abduct the "merit list" and that will be the new reason for delay. 2nd batch or not, Recruitment in this Country is always ongoing.

In essence, recruitment is over and it was done as the normal Nja who I sabi way. Those that don't know anybody were extremely lucky to be called. It shall be well !

Marvel68:
The merit list leaked by @neverdown was fake.
The names on that list were just a fraction of those that made high test scores. However, some names on the leaked list were also on the authentic merit list.
Some merit candidates from states with little or no pressure from major stakeholders were called in the third and fourth week of July, 2018.
A few of them testified and tried to convince you all that they knew nobody but you guys doubted them and so they decided to abandon the thread.
The distribution of letters wont done accordingly but resumption is February. Some applicants through their sponsors have received APLs in Nov/Dec, 2018.
I know some of you are aware of what I’m saying but have chosen to be silent. Let no one claim that he/she made the merit list. Disregard the leaked list and be sure to confirm your name on the authentic merit list before you take any action.
I don’t know the fate of the rest of the merit candidates that are yet to be called. I can’t confirm if they were included on the second list but some persons have already received APLs.

Thanks for your consistent update, I am just curious about the leaked merit list. Should we still be hopeful on that since we don't have anybody in FCC to confirm if our name is there ?
Marvel65:

Don’t be confused. The information I posted was first hand. Don’t worry about the figures on the first and second list since you are already aware that 700 was the approved number. Mr Tata may decide to change things at the last hour. I repeat again, your names will not replaced if it reached MPR and FCC, I don’t know the source of the leaked list. Your name wouldn’t have been on the list if DPR didn’t want you in the first place.

It may interest you to know that 90% of those on the first batch are SH candidates. These SH include Director, Deputy Directors (1 each), Chairmen of Senate Committees on Federal Character, Upstream, Downstream Petroleum, FCC chairman, Minister of State for Petroleum resources, House of Rep members, SSAs to the President, Deputy Senate President, some Governors (SS, SW, SE), Permanent Secretary (MPR), some senior officers of DPR and two former directors. There was so much pressure from these people that Mr Tata had to include the names of their candidates on the first batch, so they resume before the others. The 2nd batch will be more of merit and few SH candidates. Even the DDs were shocked when they saw the first list that returned. Mr Tata had debriefed them about what he did during the TMC meeting in June, 2018. On the other hand, the Union asked DPR management to release the APLs ASAP, putting Mr Tata under pressure. So there was little time to get the Portals, Email and SMS ready to notify the successful candidates. Few calls were made and sponsors helped sort out their candidates APLs.

Finally, SH list and Merit list makes up the MASTER LIST. It was just a matter of picking those that would resume first. Mr Tata is just trying to confuse everyone. I mean you shouldn’t expect the first batch to contain 100% SH candidates.
For example,
1st batch (90% sh and 10% merit candidates) and 2nd batch (90% merit and 10% Sh candidates).

The new batch will be called soon. Cheers

The number is confidential.
This weand next will answer your question.
Put your attention away from the leaked merit list.
They are not done with EH applicants.
Please be patient with them.

Please is that leaked list not genuine after all

Please how authentic is that list? I just saw my reference number BUT I haven't even been receiving calls with unknown numbers talk less of expecting it to be DPR. May Allah make it easy for us all. I cannot even pressurise myself again. If your name is on the list now is the time to intensify your prayers, daily ohh, at night, your mother shd include you in her prayers. Wife, children. May God bless us with this. Ameen Ameen.

There were issues raised concerning the offer given to some applicants most especially those linked to stakeholders. Some DPR staff children that merited it were dropped from the list and that provoked a lot of people. Also, the EH issue is still an ongoing debate. I don’t know whether that has been resolved but the list was ready since Monday.

There is so much tension in the system. Everyone should just pray that everything goes well in the end because the union members are not happy with the situation and they are not ready to give up until everything is done accordingly. Those that haven’t been contacted shouldn’t panic and remain hopeful.

That’s all I know for now.

Good morning.

Marvel, if you work with DPR already, you are highly connected and you go out of your way to give information regarding this recruitment. Most of what you say has turned out to be true especially people getting their APL based on merit. Also, the sacrifice Director had to make to cede some slots to stakeholders ( just had to be done ) A MUST !!!. We appreciate your effort and hope everything comes to a logical conclusion.

Congratulations Captain ! Allah ya sa albarka a sabon aikin ka. I was just told of one EH who has received his letter. His godfather happens to be his own father and FCC commissioner from the state. So stakeholders have had so much influence in this. What is for you no man can take, please let us not put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. DPR cannot accommodate all Nigerians, better things await us In Sha Allah!

Please, are you saying some persons had been invited for interview after the test in January?, if so, when did this take place?.
What I am saying is some people who were invited for the test were not part of those that uploaded credentials last year. Others too have been secretly interviewed but I don't know the exact time. So clearly, something is wrong!
