Health / How To Prevent The Deadly Hepatitis B Virus by kudosamass(m): 12:58pm On Sep 25, 2017
Hepatitis is a dangerous liver disease which can lead to Liver Cancer and early death. It is an inflammation of the liver which causes Cirrhosis or liver scar. Medical experts have identifies five types of the Hepatitis Virus. These are types A, B, C, D, and E. Each of these typologies of Hepatitis viruses has its own method of transmission and prevention.

Hepatitis B is the most dangerous and common type of the Hepatitis Viruses. Take the following measures to protect yourself from this deadly Virus because prevention is more effective in Hepatitis B than therapy.

SIX METHODS OF PREVENTION OF HEPATITIS B

i. Vaccination:
One good thing about the Hepatitis B Virus is the availability of vaccines for its prevention. There are two major vaccines used in the prevention of this deadly Virus. These are Engerix-B and Recombivax HB. Twinrix is also used for the prevention of the A and B types.
Vaccination is the most effective method to prevent this Virus. HBV vaccines are recommended for newborns, children, adolescents, adults, Health workers, persons who have multiple sex partners, travellers, those living with Hepatitis B patients, and people who use and inject IV drugs. The vaccines provide protection for up to 20 years, and are effective up to 95%.

ii. Avoid unsafe Sex:
Contact with infected blood and other body fluids such as semen, vaginal fluid and Saliva are the primary route through which Hepatitis B Virus is transmitted.
Unprotected sexual contact can put you at great risk of contacting this dangerous Virus. People who have multiple sex partners, men who have sex with men, and sexual partners of infected persons are easily infected by Hepatitis B Virus.

iii. Avoid Sharing of Sharp Objects or Body Piercing Tools:
Sharing of sharp objects such as syringe, needles, razors, toothbrush and other body piercing tools may get you infected with Hepatitis B. People who use intravenous illicit drugs are at great risks. It is recommended to use sterile sharp objects and desist from sharing any type of sharp body objects, tools and equipment to prevent yourself from contacting Hepatitis B Virus.

iv. Avoid Unscreened Blood Transfusion:
The use of unscreened blood exposes you to the risk of contacting HBV. As stated earlier, contact with infected blood is the Highway to contacting Hepatitis B Virus. If you receive blood during transfusion that contains HBV, you are very likely to develop this deadly Virus. Always use and advocate the use of screened and tested blood for transfusion to prevent the spread of the deadly Hepatitis B.

v. Avoid the Use of Unsterilized Medical and Dental Equipment:
The use of medical or dental intervention equipment and tools without proper sterilization may lead to contacting Hepatitis B. To prevent this deadly occurrence, medical tools must be properly and adequately sterilized before and after use.

vi. Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission:
Transmission of Hepatitis B Virus from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth and post birth is very common. Women who are exposed to HBV environment should endeavor to take HBV vaccine before pregnancy. Unvaccinated pregnant women should be vaccinated by medical experts.
A new baby should be given HBV vaccine within 12 hours of birth because Hepatitis B Virus are detectable in breast milk and colostrum.
Furthermore, bathing newborn infants with mild medicated soap solutions to remove HBV contaminated blood can minimize the risk of after birth infection.

Health / Tips About The Deadly Hepatitis B by kudosamass(m): 12:06pm On Sep 23, 2017
1. Hepatitis B is a viral infection that attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic disease. It a deadly disease that can cause death. The Virus is the most common and deadly among the five Hepatitis types.

2. Hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person such as semen, vaginal fluid and saliva.

3. An estimated 265 million people Worldwide are living with hepatitis B virus infection (defined as hepatitis B surface antigen positive). Over two million Nigerians are estimated to be carriers.

4. In 2015, hepatitis B resulted in 887, 000 deaths, mostly from complications (including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma).

5. Hepatitis B is an important occupational hazard for health workers. However, it can be prevented by currently available safe and effective vaccines such as Engerix-B and Recombivax HB.

6. The infection is very difficult to cure, and takes long period of medication, especially with orthodox medicine. Herbal medicine however, is very effective in the cure of Hepatitis B.

7. Hepatitis B is a potentially life-threatening liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). It is a major global health problem. It can cause chronic infection and puts people at high risk of death from cirrhosis and liver cancer.

8. Vaccine against hepatitis B has been available since 1982. The vaccine is 95% effective in preventing infection and the development of chronic disease and liver cancer due to hepatitis B.

9. Hepatitis B virus can survive outside the body for at least 7 days. During this time, the virus can still cause infection if it enters the body of a person who is not protected by the vaccine. The incubation period of the hepatitis B virus is 75 days on average, but can vary from 30 to 180 days. The virus may be detected within 30 to 60 days after infection and can persist and develop into chronic hepatitis B.

10. Go for screening today to know your status. Early detection makes treatment and cure easier. Late detection may cause irreparable damage to the liver. The liver is one of the most important organs of the human body. The liver must be protected and preserved.

Health / Foods That Are Not Good For Hepatitis Patients by kudosamass(m): 7:55pm On Sep 20, 2017
SOURCE: https://hepatitisdesk..com.ng/

Hepatitis Virus is a very dangerous disease that affects the Liver. Most of the time, the treatment process takes a long time because of the few available drugs that can cure the disease. Being diagnosed with Hepatitis Virus may require significant adjustment to the type of food the patient takes.
Patients are encouraged to take steps to lessen the damage the Virus may inflict on their Liver by trying to avoid the intake of some certain types of foods. The Liver is a very important organ of the human body, and every efforts must be made to protect and preserve this all important Organ. Some of those foods that must be avoided by Hepatitis Patients are as follows:

FOODS HEPATITIS PATIENTS MUST AVOID:

1. PROCESSED FOOD
Many processed foods contain chemicals, unnatural substances, additives, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, fillers and other chemically treated substances that are extremely hard for a weak Liver to process.

2. GLUTEN FOODS
Gluten is a family of Storage Proteins termed Prolamins and Glutelins found in Wheat and some other types of grains. Many Hepatitis patients are known to suffer Gluten Intolerance, which entails the inability of the body to process, digest or breakdown the Gluten Protein.
The inability to digest the Protein leads to a chronic state of inflammation, which creates Leaky Gut Syndrome. This then allows toxins and pathogenic organisms to infiltrate the blood stream; and thereby creating toxic overload to the Liver. This toxic overload in turn quickens cancerogenous processes in the Liver.

3. JUNK FOOD
Hepatitis patients must stay away from Junk foods because these foods contain too much sugar, calories, chemicals, and additives which are not healthy for a distressed Liver. The human body generally does not get good source of nutrition from Junk foods.

4. HYDROGENATED OILS
Hydrogenated oils are refined oils or fat that harden when cold. These types of Oils are hard for any Liver attacked by Hepatitis Virus. A better choice of Oil for such a patient would be Olive Oil.

5. EXCESSIVE SUGAR INTAKE
Sugary foods and drinks are enemies to a Hepatitis patient. Sugar intake must be limited to lessen the difficulties of metabolism when the body is under attack from Hepatitis Virus. Sugar consumption is known to have the capacity to worsen Liver inflammation, which if not arrested on time can encourage the progression of the Hepatitis Virus to more advanced stage of Liver Cancer.

6. EXCESSIVE SALT INTAKE
Foods heavily laced with salt must be avoided by a Hepatitis patient. The patient must severely reduce his or her salt intake, and refrain from eating or drinking high-sodium foods and drinks. Salt and sodium are harmful to patients with Liver related Health issues.

7. FATTY MEAT
Some meats are high in fat. Consuming a lot of fatty meat can raise the cholesterol level in the blood which is not friendly to the Liver. Too much fatty meat that are high on saturated fat can make it harder for the Liver to perform its function, which will eventually lead to inflammation. Furthermore, fat in the Liver is known to interfere with the effectiveness of drugs that target the Hepatitis Virus.

8. ALCOHOL
Alcohol intake enhances the progression of Hepatitis Virus in the human body. Heavy alcohol consumption is known to cause Liver Fibrosis, which will result in Cirrhosis if not arrested on time. The combination of alcohol use and viral infection from Hepatitis Virus can cause significant Liver damage which will ultimately lead to cancer of the Liver. Any patient diagnosed with Hepatitis Virus of any type should immediately refrain from alcohol consumption.

9. AVOID CIGARETTES
The Liver has no direct contact with the smoke itself, but smoking induces many adverse effects on the human Liver, especially one that is infected with Hepatitis Virus. Smoking can induce indirect toxic effects, immunological effects, and oncogenic effects. It yields chemical substances with toxic potentials to increase Liver inflammation.

10. RAW SHELLFISH
Raw and undercooked Shellfish such as Oysters, Shrimps, Lobsters, Crabs, Pawns etc, may contain bacteria that are harmful to livers suffering from Hepatitis Virus attacks. The Microbe, Vibrio Vulnificus may be present in an uncooked or undercooked Shellfish. This Microbe is very virulent when it attacks the Liver with up to 50% mortality rate.

11. FORAGED MUSHROOM
Mushrooms are good, but certain wild mushrooms contain toxic substances that can destroy even a healthy Liver. For example, the mushroom specie called Amanita Bisporigera is a deadly fungus that is very dangerous to the human Liver. Eating the wrong mushroom can lead to irreparable damage to the Liver.

12. FRUIT JUICE
Refined Sugar called Sucrose is used to produce these fruit juices. Sucrose is 50% of Glucose and 50% Fructose. Abundance of Fructose in the body is not good for the Liver. The breakdown of Fructose in the Liver leads to the buildup of fat around that important Organ. It also makes tissues insulin-resistant and increase the production of free radicals.

13. BLEACHED WHITE FLOUR
Bleached White Flour is chemically processed which usually loose lots of vitamins and minerals during this process. Hepatitis patients are encouraged to eat only organic and unbleached flour to save their liver the stress of processing this chemically altered food.

Health / Can Hepatitis Virus Be Cured? by kudosamass(m): 4:17pm On Sep 19, 2017
SOURCE: https://hepatitisdesk..com.ng/

According to the World Health Organization, Hepatitis is an inflammation of the Liver, which can progress to Cirrhosis or Liver Cancer. There are five types of the Virus. These are: types A, B, C, D and E. Hepatitis Virus types B and C are the most common and the major cause of Liver Cirrhosis and Cancer which leads to early death.

There are lots of controversy about the curability or otherwise of this deadly Virus. Opinions are divided among Health experts on the subject matter. While some believed the Disease could only be treated and managed, others maintained that Hepatitis Virus as a Viral Infection could actually be cured.

In the Herbal Medicine Sector, many Traditional Medicine Practitioners claim they have Herbs that cure the Disease. I am a living testimony that the Virus can actually be cured using Herbal Medicine.

I was diagnosed with Hepatitis B sometime in 2011. It was severe and I was so sick. After spending lots of money on Orthodox Medication with no result; and after all hopes to save my life were almost lost, I stumbled upon a Herbal Medicine that got me cured! I was indeed cured by a Herbalist who gave me only herbs, roots and leaves to cook and drink. You can read the full story here: https://hepatitisdesk..com.ng/2017/06/my-encounter-and-victory-over-hepatitis.html

I think the whole argument whether the deadly Virus, Hepatitis can be cured or not borders on Medical technicalities! This is because I am aware that there are drugs recently developed for the cure of Hepatitis Virus, especially types B and C. However, those drugs are so costly that some insurers will only reluctantly accept to cover them for a very sick person.

According to Stephanie Watson, a Health Writer and Editor, in 2016, approval was given for Elbasvir and Grazoprevir to be used for the treatment of the Virus; however, a full course of treatment can cost tens of thousands of dollars. This makes Herbal Medicine an alternative medication for the cure of Hepatitis Virus to those who cannot afford conventional medicine. Herbal Medicine is far cheaper with no known side effect.

Hepatitis Virus is considered cured if the Virus is not detected in the patient's blood when tested after three months of treatment. The medical name for this is called Sustained Virological Response (SVR) It is estimated that that over 350 million people Worldwide live with one type of Hepatitis or the other. This figure is frightening considering the extent of damage the Virus can cause to the Liver and the fatality rate of the Disease!

VACCINATION AGAINST HEPATITIS
The best and most secured way to prevent the deadly Virus is through Vaccination. There are vaccines for types A, B and C. There is an ongoing argument whether there is a dependable Vaccines for types D and E. This is because each of these viruses is different, but the disease they cause are similar. It is recommended that all children between the ages of 12 months and 23 months should be vaccinated.

In conclusion therefore, I am not a Medical Expert, or a Traditional Medicine Practitioner; I am only an Advocate, an Awareness Campaigner against Hepatitis Virus. However, I align myself with those who say Hepatitis is curable because I contacted Hepatitis B and got cured using Herbal Medicine. And since that time, I had directed some patients to the same Herbal Medicine and they equally got cured.

So, Hepatitis is curable from the point of view of my personal experience. Those patients who can afford conventional medicine should do more research to determine which one to follow.

Politics / Re: North Cautions Yoruba, Southerners On Clamour For 1963 Constitution by kudosamass(m): 5:02pm On Sep 10, 2017
I do not think that we should insult Alhaji Tanko. At least the North is now in active engagement with the South on this issue.

Our brothers up North are scared! It is our role to try to alley their fears. Alhaji Tanko for example, told Channels few days ago that he has 83 persons in his family. That those agitating for restructuring should paint a picture of what his family will look like after restructuring!

For Alhaji Tanko to take it upon himself to become the mouth piece of the Great Yoruba Nation, arguing that the Ibadan Summit was undemocratic; and that majority of the Yoruba population was not represented tells me one thing!
Baba Tanko is scared sh*t! His argument is designed to buy time while North tries to come up with a position!

We must therefore change this engagement from abusing him to constructive argument that will convince his group of the benefits of a restructured Nigeria. We must convince him that his 83 Children will be better off in a restructured Nigeria.

We must convince him that the over 10 million Almajiri in Northern Nigeria can become active and productive members of the society in a restructured Nigeria.

We must inform him that the the quantum of Emerald deposit in Gwantu in Kaduna State is more that Emerald deposits in Sri Lanka, but the later is accepted as the Emerald City of the World because the former is yet to be exploited!

He must also be told that the Emirate of Keffi and its environs are sitting on multi trillion dollar Tourmaline deposits! And that the Sapphires of Antah, Nisama and Mambila are the finest on Earth! It might also interests him to know that Sapphire is the costliest Gemstone! More than Diamond!

Nasarawa State alone has 33 minerals in commercial quantity, but it is one of the poorest states in Nigeria! The White Topaz of Jenta, after Igwo in Kokona LGA of Nasarawa is being stolen daily and exported to Europe where it is sold as substitute for Diamond. Restructured Nigeria will not accept that!

And so continues the convincing until he feels safe enough to see the bright future for his children.

brilliant!
i. We must let the the politicians play their political game, we mustn't allow them to drag us into political game.
ii. we must know our interests and protected it!
iii. The 1999 constitution is an headache to our politicians not because of nothing, it's favour the nation than them!
If we do this we will exercise our right to vote for the best among them through their manifestos that suit us,

Nigeria can be well manage under any system and all the world systems had been managed by our politicians finish, Now they were taken us back to the beginning 1963!...to restart circle.
And want people like me to believe all will be right...wicked!
Personally I can manage any state in Nigeria better than our managers of our country today.
ask me how? I will tell you!

Agreed, the present managers are horrible guys!
But they are horrible because we have a system that ferlilizes horribility & makes it profitable! They will seize to be horrible when horribleness is made inconvinience & unprofitable.

There is structural impediment to growth & development in Nigeria. Unless it is removed, there is nothing anybody can do including you.

The evedience is the woeful performance of the present Government! I never believed Buhari would fail. But then, I realised the system under which he operates cannot allow even the Angels to succeed! It is as bad as that!

And since Buhari of all persons has failed to do much, even the so called corruption fight, it mean that no other leader in Nigeria can succeed under this system.

Nigeria as presently designed cannot work in the 21st century! Analogue ideas & policies cannot achieve any tangible result in a digital environment!

So, let's search for new path as the one we followed has been tested severally and proved to be unworkable!

Restructure cannot take Nigeria anywhere it's just a political slogan, to gain a political cheap profit by political irrelevant who afraid of facing Nigeria nation for asking mandate!
Nigeria had build-up Political power mongers who had blood feud against each other, Can such a greedy coalition headed a region with out total collapsing!
why deceiving ourselves, restructured for who to govern?
Today, the prominent politicians of each region can't play politics peacefully
eg, in every state today there were eleven office holders that if they bind together and look at the same direction, their state will be better!
i. Governor
ii. minister of his state
iii.three senator of his state
iv. six NASS member of the state!
if these eleven work together they will safe their state!
Only Lagos have this feature, legacy of Tinubu!
Restructured will certainly compounded to Nigeria problems!

So, what is your own idea of how to move Nigeria back to track since we all know that it is not working?

We are all trying to solve the same problem because it affects all of us.
Some of us did our Arithmetic and said, restructuring is the answer!
You said no, thats not the solution!
OK, what's your own idea after your own Arithmetic?
Politics / Re: I Pray Nigeria Oil Dries Up, Says Governor Nasiru El-rufai by kudosamass(m): 11:41am On Sep 10, 2017
We must learn how to differentiate a message from the messanger.

To me, what El-rufai said convinced me that those pro Federal Character apologists & anti-restructuring agents know what they are doing.

El-rufai represents the aforementioned groups. It is either he is having a change of mind, or he has started the 2019 election politics.

Must we wait for Oil to dry up before we start to think? Well, thanks to El-rufai for clarifying me! I was thinking that maybe, Northern leaders genuinely did not understand that the Unitary structure and monocultural economy in a heterogeneous & multicultural society like Nigeria are the real causes of our retrogression & backwardness!

What nobody is talking about now is that those who will loose the most at the end of this stupid game are those who own the source of this free money. Their environment has being destroyed for good! Aqua life, their main source of livelihood has been destroyed! The land can no long sustain Agriculture!

And then, Oil will be worthless in few decades time! No alternative Economy is being created to cushion the effect of post oil society! And restructuring which will no doubt activate the creation of alternative Economy is being resisted by some of our brothers up North, ably represented by Mallam Nasri El-rufai!

So, my question is, what is the Niger Delta going to depend on after oil becomes irrelevant; considering the degree of deverstation on their ecosystem?

If El-rufai is having a change of heart, good for all! If he is playing the 2019 politics, bad for all!

I am not convinced on a lot of things in Nigeria, but I am convinced that a restructured Nigeria will benefit Northern Nigeria more any other Region. WHY?

1. The present structure was designed by the North to favour the North. North has continued to rule Nigeria, but remains the most backward part of Nigeria. This tells us that the design isn't benefiting the North!

2. Every other region in Nigeria, apat from the North, has continued to make progress one way or the other despite the suffocating structure. Quota system in Admission into Tertiary Institutions has not translated to more intake from North!

3. Northern youths are not less intelligent to others! They are not lazy either! I have worked with them. But laziness & lack of incentive to compete with others are being continually institutionalized in the North by the the present structure. Who is loosing? North!

4. As long as the present structure continues to exist, North will continue to be stagnant as proven by the years of its practice. As long as this system continues to be obtained, other regions will continue to progress one way or the other as proven by its practice over the years!

5. Northern Nigeria will fair better in a restructured Nigeria than this strangulating structure.

6. The enormous human and natural resources in Northern Nigeria can only be harnessed in a functional Nigeria occationed by restructuring.

SO, I advise El-rufai & co to fastly locate their thinking cap!

Now, as a sharp guy, Kanu has capitalized on that blunder to advance, knowing fully well that the fault lines of Ethnicism will help interpret any attempt to rearrest him as selective judgement.
Has the FG any option other than dialogue? I am afraid the answer is no!
The only strategy to slow down and possibly hault Kanu' s advance is to immediately commence serious and genuine discussion on Restructuring.
Those who believe that arresting Kanu will solve the problem are only dreaming Malaria induced dreams! Even if you kill him now, Mohammed Yusuf's case might turn out to be a tea party! The Federal Government is on a high speed recruitment program for Kanu. And this mistake is going to be more suicidal than the initial stupidity in arresting the guy in the first place.

Majority of the young educated Igbos are yet to buy into Kanu's Movement. Most of them are still observing the situation.

I can bet my money that arresting Kanu again will simply lead to proliferation of the Biafran agitation, and this time, by more educated, creative, imaginative and strategic Igbo youths.

Are there no intelligent people around this Government to advise it that dialogue is a potent tool of social engineering? Are there no patriotic elder statesmen and women to talk sense into the Federal Government that this same strategy led to the radicalization of Boko Haram? Can't we learn from History? Why has Military mentality refused to leave us even after 18 years of democratic practice? Why are we stupidly fixated on the use of force to solve all social problems?

See, the 1967 theatre of war is not the same with that of today. Anyone thinking that the Biafran question can be subjected to Battle Field Test again does not love the whole Black Race. Because the result will be better imagined!
Dialogue is the game! Say no to War!

Education / Re: Afe Babalola Rejects 120 Cut-off Mark For Nigerian Universities by kudosamass(m): 12:06pm On Aug 24, 2017
The present Administration is bent on destroying all sectors of the of the Nigerian Society with urgent intent. There is no type of measurement that accepts 30% as a pass mark.
Let's restructure this Country so that any State or Region that wants to abolish Examination outrightly can go ahead without dragging others back. This centralism in everything is suffocating.
Those against Restructuring are actually the people recruiting members for the likes of Kanu. This Country is really frustrating!

Agriculture / The Hottest Farmland In Abuja by kudosamass(m): 7:47pm On Aug 16, 2017
I have being in the Abuja Farmland Property Sub-Sector for years now, but I am yet to see a Farmland on the Property Market that can compete, in terms of strategic location, Title Documents & price, with this 25 Hectares of Farmland for sale at Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.

This Farmland is located at Dobi Farmland Layout, Gwagwalada. Dobi is about 5km drive from the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada; along Abuja - Mina Road. The Farmland is less than a kilometer away from the Main Road; and Dobi main Town is about a kilometer from the Land. Electric Power and workers can be sourced from the Town. It might interest you to know that Dobi is the second largest Town in Gwagwalada Area Council, after the Town Center.

The Land has the following Title Documents: C of O; AGIS Re-Certification, Allocation Document, Search Report and Site Layout. Any experienced person in the Abuja Property Sector will agree that this is a complete Title Document.

The Land is a Table Land and hyper-fertile. It can be used for Animal Husbandry, Crop Production, Agro-Industry or Mix-Use.

In terms of security, there is an Air Force Estate(or Base; I don't actually know which one. But the Nigerian Air Force has a large expanse of Land around the area and they recently installed an empty container with other things on their Land, signifying commencement of development) And there are other large farms around the area as the Layout is specifically designed for Agro purposes. Senator Kabiru Gaya, for instance, is developing his over 100 Hectares Farm immediately after Dobi Town.

The Price is Fifteen Million Naira Net (N15,000,000) Comparatively, this amount is a give away compared to what is obtainable at Kuje, Kwali or Abaji Area councils.

For more information, and to see all Title Documents, check: https://abujafarmland..com.ng/2017/08/the-hottest-farmland-in-abuja.html

Investment / Re: Mining Nigeria’s Way To Prosperity by kudosamass(m): 11:55am On Jul 10, 2017
The Government is not serious about diversification. I was at the Conference. One of the Resource persons said that Nigeria was not yet a Mining destination. That the Government should do more to provide the enabling environment. I was interviewed by Newsmen there and I told the VON guy that our Solid Minerals Policy Makers did not even have a clear understanding of the Sector. So do not be deceived by talks about diversification.

The Pickup looks elitist. Peugeot should target the African middle class market to engineer production, not luxury pickups.
Investment / The Multi Billion Dollar International Trade In Gemstones by kudosamass(m): 9:10am On Jun 14, 2017
A Gemstone or precious stone is a piece of attractive mineral crystal which, when cut and polished, is used to make jewelry and other forms of adornments. Gemstones or precious stones have fascinated humans for ages and have played various significant roles in the myths and legends of human cultures throughout history. Gemstones represent royalty, power, wealth and fame. The Egyptian Queen, Cleopatra, was known to adorn herself with beautiful emeralds.

The International Gemstone Trade is a Multi-billion dollar Trade. Trades in precious stones supply the gems that adorn kings, queens, movie stars and millionaires around the world. These stones have other industrial uses; for example, Tourmaline is occasionally used as a piezoelectric sensor. Those who extract these gems; those who trade and distribute these beauties; and those who cut and polish these treasures are handsomely paid for their efforts. Each Gemstone has a unique color, shape, beauty, history and healing qualities. Prices of gemstones range from few dollars to above $10,000 per gram. Precious stones are usually valued based on quality and not quantity. This is based on the 4Cs: color, cut, carat weight and clarity. Rough uncut gems are measured in grams, while cut and polished gems are measured in carats. Five carts make one gram. 1000 grams make one kilogram. The business starts from the bowels of Mother Earth in distance lands to the beautiful shops of Gemstone centers in Europe, America, Asia and other parts of the World.

The International Gemstone Industry is so large that the United States Jewelry Industry is said to worth over US$78 billion, and has continued to grow (Gassman, 2015). According to Chinese Government import data, gemstone import from Myanmy in 2014, were worth US$12.3billiion. That was from Myanmy alone. The Gem and Jewelry District of Antwerp in Belgium is a business worth £31billion a year. That District is powered by Gemstone suppliers from all over the World. You too can be a Supplier! The Gemstone Industry in India employs about 1,000,000 players. According to India Brand Equity Foundation, the overall net export of Gems, Jewellery and Diamonds during April-December, 2016 stood at US$43.19billion. The Indian Gemstone Industry is also powered by International suppliers from around the world. You too can participate in this mega money bonanza!

The Multi-Billion Dollar Colored Stone trade has transformed many economies and created thousand of super rich individuals. To say that trade in these precious stones falls among the most lucrative and profit-oriented ventures, VOA’s Sonja Pace, observed that gemstones have been valued highly all through history up until now, and there is no evidence this trend is going to stop in the foreseeable future. A Nigerian Gemstone Dealer, Usman Bala, boasted that he bought fine grade Sapphire at Antah in Kaduna State of Nigeria for Four Million Naira and sold it for 18 Million Naira in Lagos, Nigeria. That is about $10,300 and $49,000 respectively. A lot of people want to go into the Precious Stone business, but they do not have the necessary information to do that. Those who risk their lives to smuggle drugs for quick wealth are not aware that Gemstone trade is more lucrative than drug trade. A gram of cocaine, for instance is in the neighborhoods of $70, but a gram of rough fine grade Sapphire, or Paraiba Green Tourmaline is more than $10,000! But sources of these gems are always kept top secret by those who have the information.

Gemstones do not depreciate in value, rather it continues to appreciate. Many wealthy families and institutions around the world keep their wealth in gemstones. The Vatican for instance, keeps high percentage of her wealth in gold and gemstones, not in paper money. The British Monarchy has one of the richest collections of gemstones in the world. Some of these gems are displayed in the British museum. Many members of the royal families of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for example, keep their wealth in gemstones.
Precious Stones are very easy to carry. In fact, it is far easier to carry a Gemstone than to carry its money value.

The traditional thinking is that Gemstone Business is for the elites alone. For instance, in Thailand and Sir Lanka, the Trade is an exclusive reserve of the top military brass and high ranking police chiefs; but with the right information, anyone can engage in the Trade with as small as $500 . This is because, these gems are very cheap at the sources, but very costly at trading centers around the world. The Trade used to be very herculean in the past because of the need to travel to remote areas to source the gems, but the improvement in modern communication with the greater efficiency and effectiveness of courier sources have made the trade very easy today. Gemstone miners in the remotest part of the world have contacts with buyers in the major cities.

Gemstone Trade is not a Rocket Science. The laws of buying and selling govern Gem Trade. With the right information, one can be a part-time dealer or a full time dealer. Businessmen and women, Students and Public Office holders can trade on Gems. Exporters and importers can do well in Gem Trade. You can trade on rough gems or cut and polished gems. You can also be a Broker. The most important thing is that you have the contacts of miners and those who want to buy. The three fundamentals in starting a Gemstone Trade are identification and names of these gems; where to source these gems; and where to sell them.

A declared opponent is far far better and safer than the undeclared one. If I were one of the leaders of the separatist groups, I would have considered these revelations as acts of divine revelations and declare a Thanksgiving! It is better one knows who is with him at the start of a journey than along the way! The former makes you to prepare while the later takes you unaware!
Politics / Re: Ango Abdullahi Backs Quit Notice To Igbos Issued By Northern Youths by kudosamass(m): 2:34pm On Jun 09, 2017
Prof, you of all people should understand the Political Economy of this your statement. By this unelderly talk, you have unwittingly destroyed the property market in the North and activated the property market in the East. The Igbos are the people buying property from the proceeds of there businesses. Believe it or not, the property market in the North is a multi-billion sector.
I thought you guys knew what you were doing, but it is obvious that you need an adviser with deep understanding of Political Economy.

Personally, I am for a united strong Nigeria, but certainly not the one as presently constituted. Can you have the face to call yourself a leader in the mist of your counterparts from Singapore, Korea or Malaysia? I mean, a leadership that officiated the wholesale impoverishment of her people; can that one be called a leader?
Whichever way this impasse is resolved, it will be to the advantage of the average Northerner. If we restructure, Northern leaders will be forced to sit up. If we disintegrate, Northern masses will be forced to ask for more from their leaders.
Health / What Is Hepatitis? by kudosamass(m): 9:35pm On Jun 08, 2017
WHAT IS HEPATITIS?
By WHO

Q: What is hepatitis?
A: Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver. The condition can be self-limiting or can progress to fibrosis (scarring), cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis viruses are the most common cause of hepatitis in the world but other infections, toxic substances (e.g. alcohol, certain drugs), and autoimmune diseases can also cause hepatitis.

There are 5 main hepatitis viruses, referred to as types A, B, C, D and E. These 5 types are of greatest concern because of the burden of illness and death they cause and the potential for outbreaks and epidemic spread. In particular, types B and C lead to chronic disease in hundreds of millions of people and, together, are the most common cause of liver cirrhosis and cancer.

Hepatitis A and E are typically caused by ingestion of contaminated food or water. Hepatitis B, C and D usually occur as a result of parenteral contact with infected body fluids. Common modes of transmission for these viruses include receipt of contaminated blood or blood products, invasive medical procedures using contaminated equipment and for hepatitis B transmission from mother to baby at birth, from family member to child, and also by sexual contact.

Acute infection may occur with limited or no symptoms, or may include symptoms such as jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), dark urine, extreme fatigue, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Q: What are the different hepatitis viruses?
A: Scientists have identified 5 unique hepatitis viruses, identified by the letters A, B, C, D, and E. While all cause liver disease, they vary in important ways.
Hepatitis A virus (HAV) is present in the faeces of infected persons and is most often transmitted through consumption of contaminated water or food. Certain sex practices can also spread HAV. Infections are in many cases mild, with most people making a full recovery and remaining immune from further HAV infections. However, HAV infections can also be severe and life threatening. Most people in areas of the world with poor sanitation have been infected with this virus. Safe and effective vaccines are available to prevent HAV.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is transmitted through exposure to infective blood, semen, and other body fluids. HBV can be transmitted from infected mothers to infants at the time of birth or from family member to infant in early childhood. Transmission may also occur through transfusions of HBV-contaminated blood and blood products, contaminated injections during medical procedures, and through injection drug use. HBV also poses a risk to healthcare workers who sustain accidental needle stick injuries while caring for infected-HBV patients. Safe and effective vaccines are available to prevent HBV.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is mostly transmitted through exposure to infective blood. This may happen through transfusions of HCV-contaminated blood and blood products, contaminated injections during medical procedures, and through injection drug use. Sexual transmission is also possible, but is much less common. There is no vaccine for HCV.

Hepatitis D virus (HDV) infections occur only in those who are infected with HBV. The dual infection of HDV and HBV can result in a more serious disease and worse outcome. Hepatitis B vaccines provide protection from HDV infection.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is mostly transmitted through consumption of contaminated water or food. HEV is a common cause of hepatitis outbreaks in developing parts of the world and is increasingly recognized as an important cause of disease in developed countries. Safe and effective vaccines to prevent HEV infection have been developed but are not widely available.

@Bleon99, I contacted the disease and was cured by herbal medicine. That the Americans have no cure for Hepatitis B does not mean it cannot be cured by Traditional Herbal Medicine. I guess your zenocentrism is above average. Check it!
