Nairaland / General / Nigerians Nabbed For Kidnapping For Ransom In Bulacan by kunletoks(m): 11:21am On Jun 18, 2015 |
A Nigerian kidnapping syndicate has been busted in a string of operations by the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group and PNP in Bulacan on Tuesday in Plaridel town. Ifeanyi Augustine Chinwueba, Martin Okofor, and Austin Agu Y Chukwueba were arrested for kidnapping fellow Nigerians Osuoha Ikenna Amaefule and Onyedeke Ferdinand Munachiso last June 9. AKG director Sr. Supt. Roberto Fajardo said the AKG was alerted to the group by Amaefule and Munachiso's uncle Aloysius Esonau Osuji last June 11 after the students were taken upon their arrival in the country. Chinwueba and his cohorts asked for six million Nigerian dollars or P1,358,000 in exchange for the victims' release, but the two were able to escape and reported the incident to the Pulilan police station in Bulacan. The victims then led the AKG and Bulacan PNP to the safehouse of the suspects in Plaridel. All three suspects will soon face charges of Kidnap for Ransom under Art. 267 of the Revised Penal Code. They will also be subjected to a deeper investigation by the INTERPOL, Bureau of Immigration and Department of Foreign Affairs. -Rie Takumi/NB, GMA News More from: http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/505810/news/regions/nigerians-nabbed-for-kidnapping-for-ransom-in-bulacan |
