Lesgupnigeria:
Another major challenge is scarcity of farm labourers.
2016 has been a year where you have to run to and fro to get laborers.Getting our usual cheaper Togolese and Benin workers has been difficult.I guess the entry and exit through the borders were tighten because of the Boko haram menace and economic factors.
The reason most of these laborers come to Nigeria for farm work is because our currency is more valuable than theirs,Now that the value of Naira has collapse and their currency is far better than ours, what's the essence of coming to Nigeria to do farm work?
Unexpected challenges of such do come up,how do you find alternative solution to it?
Stay tuned and watch out for my next post.

Romance / Re: Any Guy Who Doesn't Have A House And A Car Should Not Get Married Or Even Date! by kunletoks(m): 5:55pm On Mar 20, 2016
Vinshu:
In order to reduce the level of poverty amongst homes, in my opinion I think a man who has not enough money to buy a house of his own not rent at least a 3 bed room flat and a car to move him and his family around should not get married.

When he gets married in his low credit, the family tends to suffer. The probability that he will get rich is actually 0.5 not up to 1 because Sundry expenses will now become expenses when married. Things he could ignore when single will now be important.

When children arrive, the probability of getting rich falls to an all time low of 0.2. Have you observed that most men have a higher credit score when single? If you have $500 at the end of every week when single if your job/income doesn't change or upgrade when you get married your $500 falls to $200 because you no longer feed yourself but feed a woman and probably a child.

When the child grows older school fees will set in. And other bad debts will be incured .

Don't get me wrong, I ain't saying he will never make it but in the mean time, why bring a child to the world to suffer? Even if it's for 6 years before you make it? Why take a woman from her father's comfy house to hardship in the name of marriage?

I advice ladies never to get married no matter how cool a guy is unless he is proven to be able to cater for your needs and that of your children financially in all ramifications both expenses and sundry expenses.

It doesn't make any sense, what you enjoy when single as a lady why stop enjoying it because your husband has no money or your money now goes to supporting him?

They say women ain't equal to men. Ok let the men be rich and rich enough to take care of their wives 101% before getting married. In fact, studies show most men marry for sex.

This post dey vex me.

I dont know what op is saying. but as long as I can eat and feed my family 3 times a day, pay my rent and meet the NEEDS of my children, I am good to go. as long as in all these I have the man I love and who loves me. life goes beyond money and cars. it is beyond material things. people who don't have cars have not died.

God bless you lady.

1. What of selling foodstuffs in bags. such as rice, beans, garri, Semo etc. No matter what the economy is, people must eat.
2. The is something called PAMM account in forex. when you register with a broker, you are allowed to view people's trade record and choose whose account is doing well and you want their trades to be replicated on your account. They will charge you a fee. Forex is risky but a very good business. you don't have to trade if you register for the PAMM account. you can make 1% on your capital but it's advisable to invest the amount you can afford to lose in trading.

Apart from the transport fare from Lekki, consider the time and stress. You can get an apartment around Ketu or ikorodu for less than 50k/ year. If u can get a loan to pay for the rent.

Nairaland / General / Brunei Bans Christmas In Hardline Shift by kunletoks(m): 12:59pm On Dec 23, 2015
Punishment for violating the ban is a five-year jail sentence, and the government warned last year that Muslims would be committing an offence if they so much as wore "hats or clothes that resemble Santa Claus".

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei: Christmas is just around the corner, but there are no tinsel-laden trees or Santa hats in the oil-rich sultanate of Brunei, where celebrations have been banned under a shift towards hardline Islamic law.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, one of the world's richest men, announced last year he would push ahead with the introduction of sharia law, eventually including tough penalties such as death by stoning or severed limbs.

Religious leaders in the oil-rich sultanate warned this month that a ban on Christmas would be strictly enforced, for fear that Muslims could be led astray.

"Using religious symbols like crosses, lighting candles, putting up Christmas trees, singing religious songs, sending Christmas greetings... are against Islamic faith," imams said in sermons published in the local press.

Punishment for violating the ban is a five-year jail sentence, and the government warned last year that Muslims would be committing an offence if they so much as wore "hats or clothes that resemble Santa Claus".

Although Christians are free to celebrate, they have been told not to do so "excessively and openly", in a directive that has had a chilling effect on the Southeast Asian nation, which sits on a corner of Borneo island.

Businesses have been warned to take decorations down and authorities have stepped up spot checks across the capital. Hotels popular among Western tourists that once boasted dazzling lights and giant Christmas trees are now barren of festive decor.

"This will be the saddest Christmas ever for me," a Malaysian expatriate resident told AFP, requesting not to be named for fear of reprisals from authorities.

"The best part of Christmas day is waking up and having that feeling that it is Christmas, but there's just none of that here and you just feel deprived."

"All this is just because of what the Sultan wants. In 2013, I saw many Muslims together with Christians having a good time at their house parties. Everything was normal and good," he said.

#MYTREEDOM

Most people are too scared to speak up about the ban, and while some privately gripe about the rule they know there is little to be done.

"I will be working on Christmas after church. We just have to cope," a Filipino waitress - one of Brunei's many guest workers - told AFP.

Some people dared to post pictures on social media depicting Christmas cheer using the hashtag #MyTreedom, part of a global campaign to highlight oppression against Christians.

At least one church in the capital sported decorations that were visible from the street, a rare glimpse of holiday cheer in the otherwise decoration-free city.

"The ban is ridiculous. It projects this image that Islam does not respect the rights of other religions to celebrate their faith," said a Muslim mother in the capital, also too scared to provide her name.

"Islam teaches us to respect one another and I believe it starts with respecting other religions even if what is being banned are ornamental displays."

Others were more tempered, and urged the prohibition to be respected.

"It is an Islamic country and so with respect to the law, churches need to keep decorations indoors," said a Christian Bruneian, unfazed by the strict rules. "The meaning of Christmas for us isn't all about Christmas decorations."

CONTROVERSY AT HOME

However, the prohibition does not extend to the business interests of the sultan, whose estimated US$20 billion fortune includes the historic Beverly Hills Hotel - part of his Dorchester Collection with branches in London, Paris, Milan and Rome.

It is Christmas as usual this year in the upscale Le Richemond hotel in Geneva where guests are greeted by lavish displays in the hotel lobby, include bowls overflowing with pine branches, ornaments and candles aplenty.

The Le Meurice hotel in Paris advertises a Christmas eve seven-course gourmet menu for 650 euros - before drinks - while the Beverly Hills Hotel is decked out for the holidays too.

Some say that Brunei is on a dangerous path towards religious intolerance in a state where only nine per cent of 430,000 population are Christian.

"In a globalised world, many countries are trying to unite different people and different religions but it doesn't seem to be the case here," a Catholic foreign worker told AFP. "What's happening here is that Christians are being alienated from the majority Muslim community."
