quality of fuel you using -
how free you fuel line is - pump, filter, injector nuzzles
Your MAF or Air flow meter
your air filter
Your tires, and weight in the car. then generally the torque the engine can still boast of..



The OEM rating say 19mpg for city and 24mpg for highway...

so do your maths..

if you have the recommended fuel quality, I can assure you would beat that rating

If u can remember those days we had quality petrol refined , u seldom see black sooth at the tail pipe of the exhaust... but usually like white after a long journey or tan red ...this is an indication of an excellent combustion ...

However, this Toyota engines are quite durable and smoking is scarce unless a careless guy manages the car ...

There are fake engine oils too, I have had an ugly experience with Mobil Super some 11yrs ago ... I felt the engine was out , until I changed the oil completely to AP I think ...

Again , a weak engine with space in between the rings and engine block can release some amount of oil into the manifold ,that burns off as blue white smoke ...

Summarily for me ...

I would be MORE worried @ sight of blue-white smoke

Be worried @ continuous white smoke even after driving long ..

Be very concerned @ heavy sooth and black smoke

While I would smile seeing nothing even while I rev it , and seeing water dripping from the exhaust while steaming and clears off after driving thru 4-6 km ...

When there is a +ve change in temperature @ the evaporator ... it CONDENSES ..... that's the cause of water that drips below your car !


Examples of condense in a sentence in this regard.



The cooler temperatures cause the gas to condense into a liquid.

Moisture in the air condenses to form tiny drops of water.

Now ,

Let's do small practical ..

You crank the engine , put on the AC , after a while , disconnect the fan blower while the compressor is still working ....

You would discover in no time that the evaporator would be caked with ice ...and the thermostat would usually do it's job and shuts off the compressor ....

The more air that blows thru the evaporator that prevents that caking of ice the longer the compressor stays working ..



Does that make any sense ?
