Being happy is relative! And one thing you must know is that you need to understand that it behoves on you first to make yourself happy than leaving that responsibility to someone. And btw it is not even all the time that you are happy with yourself not to talk of someone else! Yes long term relationship eg marriage is not a gurantee that one must always be happy or expect our spouses to make us happy all the time! It is a collective responsibility of parties involved to ensure that the embers of the relationship is always charged!
You can be content and fullfilled with same person forever but dont expect them to ALWAYS make you happy 24-7-365dys!

lindabon: You don't need to modify yourself for anyone. In my lifetime, I've seen the best and worst of girls get married. There are no rules in attracting a mate except the one that we or our society make for us. Guys are different and different guys want different things, so definitely, there cant be just one general rule for dating all these diversities of men around the world.
For instance, Why you may think every guy wants and independent woman, their are others who want women that depend on them, as the woman's dependance on him gives him 100% control over her. . . .different strokes.

Relationship is about having someone who you can be yourself around. Let a guy fall in love with the lady in front of him, not the lady you want to become or the lady you pretend to be. If he doesn't love you for who you are, why bother? .....well, unless you can keep up with the pretense FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE !!

About the story - I find it disturbing that a girl can't recognise her bf, its unbelievable. Hmmmmmm like seriously? Op I don't know the advice you are seeking again. From your post its obvious you aint gonna compromise and your husband to be don't seem like he's gonna compromise either. So you are left with one option which is to end the relationship.

I don't buy this idea of being married and attend different churches,its bullshyte...my grandma used to say, 'a woman has no church till she's married' so if you can't follow him to his church, then you wait till you meet a Roman Catholic man, its that simple.

ogugua88: Rushed, immature, and hormone-driven, yes, but it's also fiction lol. So, why it should be used to represent true love in a true society is beyond me. Similar things happen though, like falling in love within two hours. At least there are instances where we think they do. It usually involves a party or club and plenty shayo lol.
