What misconception and error are you talking about? Why are you talking as if you are sure of what you are saying. You are correcting error by using "may"; does that implies that you are sure of it? Can you please give us the names of those universities that will accept HND or Msc? Even if that is possible, how many students can boast of distinction?

This is the NOUN admission advert. Kindly identify where you can be offer admission for Msc with your HND ( Be it distinction or whatever)
"IV POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Candidates seeking admission must possess either Bachelor Degree
Certificates or equivalent from institutions recognised by the Senate of
NOUN; or
a) Holders of HND with a minimum of Lower Credit from institutions
recognised by the Senate of NOUN.
b) Candidates seeking admission into the School of Law must possess a
minimum of L.L.B degree.
c) candidate seeking admission for PGD Agricultural Extension and
Management must possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3rd class
division is required. Candidates with pass degree and minimum of 3
years related experience may be accepted. HND holders in Agric
Science or other related disciplines may be admitted. Holders of
Bachelor degree in basic Science, Biological/Earth Sciences, and
Agricultural Sciences from Universities that are recognised by
NOUN are admitable.
d) candidate seeking admission for the PGD HIV/AIDS Education and
Management must possess HND or a good first degree in related
field of study. In addition, 5 credits in English, Mathematics, a
science subject and 2 other subjects.

V MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMES
a) A first degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower from a
University recognised by the Senate of NOUN in a related field or
study.
b) A postgraduate diploma in a related field from a University
recognised by Senate may also be admitted.
c) A good honours degree in Education (Arts, Languages, Sciences,
Social Sciences, Vocational and Technical subjects) from any
University recognized by the Senate of NOUN.
d) Prospective students seeking admission for M.Sc. HIV/AIDS
Management are required to have PGD in HIV/AIDS education and
management as well as 5 credits in: English and Mathematics, a
science subject and 2 other subjects.

VI. DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D) PROGRAMMES
i. For the Doctor of Philosophy degree programmes, candidates must
possess a masters degree in relevant fields of study from a University
recognised by the Senate of the NOUN with a minimum score

1. Even in Nigeria, no school will accept HND for Msc without PGD which makes the answer to this question "NO". The best you can get with it is Bsc.
2. Yes but complicated. But since you said you are planning of applying next year. I guess you are talking about winter semester and not summer; if it is the former, (winter semester), you will have a lot of opportunities provided you have the required documents. Shalom

Please I've checked previous pages, but they all seem not to agree on an answer to this first question.
1) Who knows which birth certificate we are meant to use, the checklist says "birth certificate from NPC or declaration of age" but mine is that birth certificate on a small paper (not up to A4 size) issued by the local government in the state of birth before they started the NPC thing. Would this suffice? or does one still need to swear an affidavit/do a declaration of age. Biko those who have had their interview, which did you use?
Also,
2) Under section 9 in the application form, the "I intend to stay no longer than twelve months in the Federal territory and apply for a visa that covers the whole duration of my stay" field, we are not meant to tick this, right?
Lastly,
3) Also in the application form, what should be filled into the "Trade or profession for which you trained, and if different, your current trade or profession" field?

Cos if they ask u who is sponsoring u in the interview they should assume its ur mum. Or u can wait till d interview day and if she asks u can say ur dad is late. You can do it either way.....but it is better you print out so many blank copies should there be error and you need to refill....go for your interview with extra unfilled copies also.....I filled mine with hand back then.....best of luck!

@ kuthvic, go to lagos consulate. Blocked account opening is from Mon-Wed. 8am-11am. Make sure u sleep in lagos overnight to beat rthe time. Take ur copy of passport data ppage, admission letter, aplication form (2sets) and N4500
