BlackManta: I'm not too invested on animes but I have seen Naruto and Attack on Titan and the latter literally blew me away.
Plz is there any anime that is as good as, if not better, than Attack on Titan?

CoolUsername: I'm also hoping for an anime announcement. However, I heard on reddit that because it is free to read on Jump's website, volume sales have taken a hit. Making an anime adaptation unlikely.
I can't confirm how true this is, though. it's was among the top selling titles of jump last year it sold just under 1 million copies and it has over 2.5 million copies in print...there are jump titles who got adaptations at less than that so I think it's fine... |

Xisnin: Because she is blaming the "leaders" aka government for not providing what she think they should(wealth). smh...obviously the government is responsible for that to a certain extent which is creating an enabling environment for obtaining wealth...when you don't have power supply for your industry, good roads for your logistics, reliable public services (hospitals police fire fighters etc) for security of your business... who do you blame? the citizens? obviously the blame lies with the government and even more so the leaders who head the government!...it's their responsibility their goddamn job, they get paid by and collect money from the citizens for just that so what the heck are you talking about |

CoolUsername: I see a lot of love for Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen on this board and of course it's well-deserved. Chainsaw Man is edgy and unpredictable and Jujutsu Kaisen is consistently unique in its execution of established shōnen tropes.
But what about Jump+'s Jigokuraku? I'm of the opinion that this manga is criminally overlooked.
Jigokuraku follows the story of 12? (I'm no longer sure of the number) condemned criminals in feudal Japan who are each paired with an asaemon (executioner) and tasked to travel to a strange island in order to find the elixir of life in exchange for their freedom. All previous expeditions to the island have failed, with the voyagers either never coming back or coming back as corpses that have been partially transformed into trees.
Our characters arrive on this island of horrors and are greeted by all sorts of mysterious monsters and creatures. The reader slowly learns more about the island along with the different groups as they discover more about the world around them. We slowly learn more about the characters and their motivations as the story goes on. It's worth noting that every character is treated with some level of care.
However, that doesn't mean that this manga is afraid of dropping bodies. Established characters are picked off left and right. Save for a few main characters, nobody seems safe from death and the fights have consequences.
Not to knock on Chainsaw Man but unlike Chainsaw Man, Jigokuraku generally doesn't use character deaths for shock value (not that there's anything wrong with shock value). Character deaths are used to both conclude the arcs of the characters getting killed off and to advance the arcs of their friends and allies by creating new motivations.
I'm about 45 chapters in and it's pretty dope. U definitely recommend it. Jigokuraku is awesome...I've been holding my breath waiting for an anime announcement (hopefully it happens in this December's jump festa) and also hoping not to get a shitty adaptation that'll make the manga even more overlooked... PS: i see you just got past a really hyped moment, well it keeps getting better so look forward to the next 50+ chapters... |

Kaycee7: I have no problem with a BTW and Bleach comparison. What I have a problem with is the definitive statement, "Burn The Witch is Bleach in the UK", based on the simple point that they both possess a shadow world and nothing else so far. I find the statement stupid. Comparison will, at least, show if BTW shares any more similarities with Bleach beyond that single fact. ...and that's what I'm telling you it's just seems like a definitive statement but it's not...'jujutsu kaisen is the new bleach' sounds definitive like it's a modern version of bleach but it's really not but saying that is fine because it's obviously not meant in the literal sense anyone would understand it's just because of it's vibes and simply being new...again stop taking it literally... and at this point you must get what I'm saying right? |

TV/Movies › Re: Thread For Anime Lovers (NO HENTAI PLEASE) by kutiman00: 4:39pm On Oct 04, 2020 |
Kaycee7: No, it's not. Either superficially, technically or otherwise. You realize that statement would never exist if Burn the Witch wasn't written by Tite Kubo. Perhaps if Masashi Kishimoto wrote it, we would be hearing Burn the Witch is Naruto. *sigh*...yes it would still make sense to say so if it wasn't written by kubo...because it would still be in the same verse, still have reverse London...IT WOULD STILL BE 'WESTERN BLEACH' simply because PREMISE/SETTING!...like really it's no different from people going jujutsu kaisen is the new bleach, it's obviously not literally it's just because of the vibes it gives...so I don't understand why you adamantly refuse the burn the witch and bleach comparison...i think the problem here is that you (somehow) personally have something against them being compared or you just (somehow) still don't get what I'm saying... |

Kaycee7: And what are the Burn the Witch's equivalents for Zanpakuto, Quincy, the Gotei13, Shikai and Bankai, etc? Calling Burn the Witch a Bleach set in the UK when the worldbuilding has barely kicked off is a seriously dumb statement. It's not even a spin-off, for crying out loud. Just exists in the same universe with Bleach. SMH...you're taking it too literally (and somewhat personally)...try this the bank of England is the UK's bank of Japan, and the Bank of Japan is Japan's Bank of England... understand what I mean? both banks are on the same planet (universe) they're definitely not exactly the same but have a lot of similarities/functions/traits... so again burn the witch has reverse London (soul society of the west) central to it, bleach has soul society (reverse London of the east) central it...with respect to that premise, BURN THE WITCH IS BLEACH BUT IN THE WEST...I can't explain any better than this, so I hope you understand what I'm saying... they're - on a superficial level - the same thing...obviously not literally like you're taking it... |
TV/Movies › Re: Thread For Anime Lovers (NO HENTAI PLEASE) by kutiman00: 12:57pm On Oct 03, 2020 |
Kaycee7: I really don't, which is why I was trying to understand. He meant to say that - burn the witch is in the same universe as bleach - burn the witch is basically bleach but in London as in the characters live in London like karakura town for bleach and has reverse London like soul society for bleach... so yeah burn the witch is bleach but in London/England/the west while bleach is burn the witch but in karakura town/Japan/the east... yes the way he worded it was wrong and confusing but that's what he's trying to convey... |

SniperAssassin: As an Attack on Titan fan, I have this slight worry that MAPPA won't adapt the final season as well as Wit Studio did the previous 3. It's not really something that MAPPA did. The trailer was pretty OK. It's just that final scene where Eren is charging at Reiner that looks a bit weird, at least compared to Wit Studio's animation. Am I the only one who has this fear? Brother lemme be honest with you, *ahem* MAPPA can/will (most likely) never be able to deliver AOT on the same level as studio Wit...now on your concern about the trailer it's pre-animated meaning that everything you saw in that trailer was specifically animated to be shown as a trailer, and even more simply put, it's not cuts of the actual anime that was edited together...now a pre-animated trailer may be good news or bad news...it can be like the previous attack on titan seasons, the trailers were pre-animated and the anime looked just as good because they had enough time, resources and skill for this, hence good news...it can be like black clover, the PV had mad animation because it was created long before the anime production started but the actual anime production had hectic schedule, hence bad news... for MAPPA the guys who made the trailer are different from those making the anime so...60 days prayers & fasting then hope for the best... |

typicalgamer: Now you're speaking english
Folks here thinks crunchyroll and other Studios fork out money for our happiness
Hell they're running a business o yes...only very few studios are capable of prioritizing quality and still have raking in of money guaranteed such as BONES - because of the pure talent of their staff and their ability to properly schedule and divide their productions so much so they divided their studio to five sub studios - bones A (noragami, Carole & Tuesday etc), bones B (mob psycho etc), bones C (full metal alchemist, my hero academia etc), bones D (full metal alchemist brotherhood, bungo stray dogs etc), and bones E (working on movies yet to be released) - KYOTO ANIMATION - because they are part of the production board for their animes and do things at their own pace and on their own terms there are more studios that give consistent quality like trigger, cloverworks etc... but only a handful are capable of this the majority (especially independent studios) can't do it unless they want to tempt bankruptcy...even some mighty studios who once could - studio (clown) Pierrot, madhouse etc - fell from grace sef... |

donwizzy7: now dat i think about it....probably crunchyroll didnt care about d plot and whatnot...dey just wanted fast money probably from newbies and non-manga fans...at d very least...d 'senseless' but overpowered fight scenes will draw dem in......and u cannot drag such things til 24episodes:it has to be short, quick and staight to point. No matter what criticisms manga fans ditch out to the anime adaptation...crunchyroll has already made money and 'packed up'. So sorry to doz offended by their anime adaptation (me included); lets wait patiently for something much better! Exactly it's (usually) all about the money in anime production...and the problem is that passion projects - which emphasises quality above all else - usually flops for one reason or the other (mostly because it gets only a small niche fandom that appreciates it), so producers will simply stick with what guarantees them profit... |

donwizzy7: d characters dat will die or live have already been decided by manga creator...so dont bother been attached...just read d manga to know which ones die or live. At best being unattached will just keep you from getting sad...there'll still be a bunch of completely unpredictable stuff that will surprise/shock you...but no matter what happens everything will just always make perfect sense in AOT...that's one of it's strongest points... |

Duchessree: I just finished Attack on titans from S1 to 3, and i have to say that anime is freaking AMAZING. The plot, the graphics, the characters development, the scouts soldiers , the scenes where they use the ODM gear especially Levi is so great and amazing. And should i talk about the characters sacrifices made in this anime.
Word of advice to anybody about to watch this anime or the baby weebs here , do not get attach to any characters, i repeat DO NOT, they wack people more than GOT in this anime
The anime was a emotional roller coaster for me , especially season 3, kudos to Hajime Isayama for creating such a wonderful manga
Well since i cant wait for December 7 for the season 4 to start , im off to read the manga and can i just say am a Levi fangirl funny thing is that i did not despise any character in this anime It's always a nice sight to see when someone experiences AOT for the first time and rightfully 'lose their mind' over it and praise it to high heaven...it's one of those rare few anime that deserves all the praise and hype it receives and then some...welcome to the AOT hype train! PS: on being attached to characters I stopped since I saw Marco die...I don't even bother remembering names unless I dey see the character wella... |
