justi4jesu: It depends, if you did it through the airline as it is adviced on this thread, then your extension will also be done by them. As for Etihad,an extension of 1month visa is 900dirhams. Once your visa is getting to an end let's say 26,27 ....28, you just have to visit one of their offices here for your extension with your cash.

ogakpatakpata: @Kwammy.....................you are welcome; what other contacts do you need more than what we have proffered to you here, if only you can do all that has been suggested to you here, you don't need to know anybody to succeed here,l understand your anxieties,worries and concerns especially as you prepare to move to a new location,but, trust me, everything you have been told here is nothing than the truth, once you arrive Dubai, lots of our forumites are based here and are doing wonderfully well, so before you arrive, continue to be a student of this forum and you will be glad you did, since you said you will arrive by December, l am sure if you are a diligent student of this forum, by the time you depart Nigeria, you are already an experienced person, others have gone through the same road you want to embark upon and they got all the infos here and they where able to apply it and arrived the UAE successfully, but, if you keep on looking for contacts, if you are not careful, you will be setting yourself up for WICKED AGENTS who are on the prowl for gullible travellers, l hope you get my drift?................enjoy your day....

ogakpatakpata: @kwammy5000.....................l am glad you intend to take a professional course before arriving the UAE, It really depends on your area of interest/discipline, but, l must also let you know that the UAE is saturated with different professional qualifications from migrants from different part of the world, truth must be told here, from what l have seen here personally and based on my wide interactions with different cadres of professionals who came here from Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, you really need more than a professional qualification to get a fantastic Job offer, bear in mind whatever certifications you are coming with , we have thousands of people with similar or better qualifications , and the UAE /GCC EXPERIENCE is a major factor in determining the kind of offers you will get, so l will not like to discourage you but at the same time, it is better l let you know the reality on ground than giving you a false hope, my suggestion to you will be to arrive the UAE and do proper networking, initially, you may not get your desired job, but, if you are patient enough and do your home work well and network very well, you will land your dream job, Finally click on Dr.Dre's post or read backward on this thread you will see what he also suggested regarding NEBOSH and OSHA certifications.........good luck and wish you the best.

ogakpatakpata: Depending on the number of people in the room, average per month is about $200, but, be ready to share with 8 or more guys in the apartment,but, if you want to share with few people in the apartment, you will pay more. For jobs, like l said before, l cannot fix any amount because l am not the one to employ you, hope you read what one of our forumites said 2days ago, he said his family members where asked to pay 2000dhs as settlement, in some cases you might pay more than that, it boils down to your middle man or link,but, please hold enough cash, if l am in your shoes, and l know l will settle with 2000dhs, l will hold either twice or thrice that amount to be on the safer side, UAE is damn expensive and once you are here, nobody is ready to help you when you are stranded, except by the grace of God.....................good luck.

ogakpatakpata: @kwammy5000.......................for your visa contact etihad airlines with this number 081 2911 2358 , 081291123 48, ask them for 1 month visit/tourist visa which is extendable in-case it expires before you secure a job, for accommodation once you secure your visa, any member of this forum can guide you on how to get a shared accommodation on arrival in the UAE, it is not a big deal, for jobs , like you said you have read through the thread, you will need to do proper networking+ put your ears down for walk-ins-interviews+ HOLD ENOUGH CASH BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED IT BECAUSE FOR SOME JOBS YOU WILL HAVE TO GREASE THE PALMS OF SOME HR's who are mostly Indians+ submit your Cv's to so many jobsites in the UAE,check the thread, we have posted so many+ believe in yourself and don't allow the negative/sad stories of others discourage you, we all have different STARS, DESTINIES & GLORY + pray to whatever you do believe in..............goodluck..
