Lol.. yes those commas are . 0,06m is 0.06m. And using the normal EURO-CODE Rgade: Op, are those points that you're writing as commas? Eg. In Nigeria it's 0.3 NOT 0,3. Just clarifying. What country are you typing from?
Anyway I would have solved it, but during strength of materials classes, I used to sneak out of class to eat okpa and coke |

Yes.. it's for civil/structural engineering students. Ejusni: Also in the first pic you wrote "resistance" and I don't understand what you mean.
On a second thought and after going through your previous post it seems his question is more CIVIL engineering and I'm a mechanical engineering student.. no wonder the question seemed odd |

It's not center of gravity. It's about T-beam Reinforcement. Ejusni: Is that calculation for centre of gravity? Besides that's strength of materials... I can solve the one for centre of gravity but not reinforcement, I haven't been taught that yet. |

For the first one, you should use the Eurocode 3. I don't know the equivalent of it in BS code. But from Google, I'm seeing something like BS EN 1993-1-1:2005 While for the second one, any method you can use to solve the moment is okay but major concern is checking of the two stresses with respect to the timber class. Also, dimensions are to be converted to meters. Sanquine: Which BS code should I use to design the welding question. . And which method should I use for the second question. I know three methods that I can use to find the moment So you have to specify 1. a. Clapeyron's three moments equation b. Hardy cross method of moment distribution c. Coefficient method (not applicable in this case) |
