There's a huge difference between homebased and foreign guys.
They should calm down and not be in a rush.

Anyone watching Qatar vs Egypt?

That Qatar keeper is good.. i don't know why Okoye can't be making those type of saves this guy has been making.

He has saved like two 1-on-1s

Actually, Egypt is nothing without Salah and few other of their players that are not there.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 11:07am On Nov 17, 2021
I watched the Egy : Gabon match. I watched the Ghanaian-South African match and also the CMR vs CIV match. For me I do prefer we play against Egypt to any of Ghana or CMR.

The CMR that ran riot on CIV yesterday, if they should play against us same way they did yesterday, the result is likely not to be favourable to us.

As for the black stars, they are not playing good but if we are to play against them, they will definitely play their best game that day. This I’m 100% certain. A Ghanaian family friend always tell my hubby that Ghana will even prefer to lose to Sudan, Namibia, Somalia than to lose to Nigeria. Anytime they are playing against Nigeria, they don’t play according to the coach instructions. They only play to prove a point.

And for the Egyptian team, they are the easiest among the North African team to beat. If they have play BF, I’m sure BF would have beaten them. Gabon created goal scoring chances and missed them plus the Egyptian GK saved two or three clear goals.

The Egyptian defence is way easier to break than the Liberian team and ofc, they will like to come out to attack.

One thing I have noticed since the bribe seeking coach was reintegrated is that we have started creating goal scoring chances. This have been lacking which I believe is rohr fault as he seemed clueless on how to solve that but seeing some improvements especially yesterday, I have come to conclusion that instead of sacking rohr, the nff should all means try to strike a deal with amuneke to work together especially for the afcon tournament. The result will be mind blowing.

In this world everything is possible if there will be sincere and genuine discussion/agreement.
NFF can agree with rohr to end his contract after the World Cup and also sign and agree for amuneke to take over only after the world but will have to start working with rohr from now. It will be a win win. Rohr knows that he will have to perform greatly especially during the World Cup in order to land a nice coaching shop. And for amuneke, a nice outing both at the afcon and world will give the players, nff and we the fans the trust that amuneke will need.

Actually many countries in Africa. Cost of internet in Nigeria is very high. Cost of internet in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and some other African countries are way cheaper and better than ours... If they internet will be cheap, with stead electricity for people to charge their phones and importantly, for all the rural areas in Nigeria to have atleast strong fast 4g internet, then we can gladly claim the king of social media in Africa.

I posted here that the way Zambian female team played at the Olympics, if they meet SF, SF will find it hard to win them. Bayana Bayana just proved me right. It's good that it during this ABC and that will make the coach to sit up.

For me, some of those players should be retired. Alozie is not a defender. She is a striker/winger..

So we should just hope for them to draw.

that is true. She tried today.

They should have won the chinese team. They were better than them but lack of experience is affecting them. Let them keep on trying, they will soon become a powerhouse from that part of Africa.

This new CAF qualification stuff has it advantages and Disad. too.
I like it as it gives countries from that side opportunity to qualify for major tournaments but i think the West african FAs should have proposed for the WAFU qualification to be more like a league since the major CAF female powerhouse teams are from there.
First 3 teams from WAFU, Southern and central african countries qualifies for the last qualificationround while north & east africa shares the remaining 3 slots making a total of 12 teams.
Regroup them into 2 groups and the first 3 teams with the highest point qualifies.

I'm in support of the opinion that qualifications for international tournaments based solely on AWCON should be scrabbled.

BascoVanVeli:
If the coach had used this goalkeeper for the whole tournament I bet they qualify because they should have defeated China and today would have been close

That was a clear red card. Similar foul that ruined Onazi's career.

Zambia played against Brazil with 10players and still only 1:0 Brazil managed to score.
I'm proud of them. I am happy that African female football is developing especially the Zambian team. One can see why I said that the SF may find it difficult to beat them.

I just imagined if the ref had given the Brazilian player a red card and the two teams with equal players. Zambia might have managed to equalize. It was hard to differentiate that the Zambian team were playing with a player down.

BascoVanVeli:
Akpeyi slander not welcome.

Yea it was a clear red.

Last time nigeria met china in 2019, china thrashed the SF 3:0.
I'm happy for the improvements the SF have been making lately and i want them to continue and improve in the areas that need improvement.
Some people here trying to discredit the zambian team for outplaying the chinese team and drawing 4:4 with them is what i don't support.
I will like to see if our SF can thrash the chinese team atleast 3:0 since they are so easy to beat.

Danielnino00:
The fact that we didn't quality for the Olympics is what's making you say this..lol...
You seem to forget that the super falcons were inactive for over a year prior to the 2018 AWCON which affected their performance in some games, but they still ended up winning the tournament ahead of some countries like South Africa that's been preparing for long..
You also seem to forget that we now have a better sqaud with the inclusion of more foreign born players in decent teams..
No wahala, another AWCON is coming, then maybe we will face Zambia, and you will get your answers...
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 9:16pm On Jul 25, 2021
Sorry man, but i think i'm more supportive of our SF than you. most of my posts are on the female SF thread and i think i have quite a lot of knowledge regarding female football especially CAF than you.
I don't know what you call improvements. SF collected 3 from portugal just few months ago or collecting upto 3 goals is nothing?
Sweden thrashing USA 3:0 didn't make the USA team to be thrash. China getting whopped by Brazil doesn't make them to be pushovers when it comes to female football. Nigeria struggled against portugal and against USA.

The zambian team will make our players commit many fouls.
And you can't just spring out of nowhere and start accusing me of disrespecting the SF.
My statement still stands.
With the way the zambian team played the chinese team, if they should play our super falcons like that, it will be difficult for our team to beat them.
I'm 1billion % sure that you didn't watch the match. Try watch the replay of the full match.
You mean the same cameroon that zambia stopped from qualifying for this same olympics?
LOL, You just embrassed yourself claiming that i have limited knowledge of female football.

fabyom:
I am sorry to say, but your assertions show that you have limited knowledge of female football.
Your disrespect for the Super Falcons is quiet alarming.
If not for CAF zoning nonsense, Zambia would never have qualified.
Also, your statement that Zambia's made an improvement by conceding four goals against one of the worst teams in the tournament is laughable!
All a team needs to do is mark Banda out.
Let Onome/Ogbonna jam her twice all those running around go stop.
As a matter of fact, Cameroon, Ghana, or Ivory Coast team will beat that Chinese team black and blue not to talk of the African Champion Emeritus!
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 2:15pm On Jul 25, 2021
Noo... I'm not talking about missing from the olympics. I'm talking based solely on what i watched yesterday and their improvement since 2016 i have been following the zambia female teams.
They might not get to win a match. They have made a huge improvement from the thrashing they got 5 days ago to this... man, if that is not an improvement, then i don't know whatelse is an improvement.

As someone that is more into female football, i'm very proud for what zambia did.
And coming to the SF, well, there's no place i said that the SF will not beat them but that they will find it difficult to do so.
There are some improvements which the SF needs to to.

Did you watch the match against portugal? if yes, you will notice that immediately we rasied the tempo of our game against portugal, didn't give them any space, marked all their body and ball movements, with timed passes, runs etc, we were able to get a draw from that match. Then, imagine keeping that same tempo from the start of the match till the last whistle. What do you think the scoreline would have been against portugal?
That's what happened against china.
Imagine them playing us like that with that too much pressure, ofc, we might win them but they will make our players to commit many fouls and a lot of mistakes which will lead to them scoring too.

chrisooblog:
Today is not the first time the SF have missed the olympics infact the last one we qualified for was in 2008 but guess what during this same period we haven't been to the olympiad we have won many AWCONs and qualified for every single world cup.

Football is improving at least let Zambia win a match at the olympics but comparing the falcons to them.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 12:39pm On Jul 25, 2021
Nobody will criticize the SF if they put up same performance the zambians executed against the chinese team. Against the portugues and usa teams, even though we drew and lost respectively, nobody criticized the team but instead there were some selective criticizim of some players like ordega that was totally out form then.

A team ranked 104 outplaying a team ranked 15th isn't something to be bit worried about?

isan:
If Nigeria put up same performance against the Chinese most nigerians hailing zambia will criticize the performance
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 12:35pm On Jul 25, 2021
There is a huge difference. This is like saying is there any difference between the netherland team spain beat in 2010 and the one they met in 2014.
Countries are trying to improve their female teams especially the zambian team.
SF may ofc beat the zambian team mainly on experience and international exposure which was what saved the chinese team yesterday, and apart from it, i will still repeat it that it will be difficult for the SF to beat them if they will try to play a slow tempo football.

Danielnino00:
Is there any difference between the Zambia team we beat at the last AWCON and this one?
Our inability to qualify for the Olympics is solely down to the incompetent on the part of the NFF... Talent wise, no team in Africa can match us....
Don't get it twisted, the falcons are still the queen of Africa football
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 12:31pm On Jul 25, 2021
Man, i don't know who is a kid. Someone is telling you something based on reality and you still talking about former stuff.
Football is improving. Like play like play, SF missed the olympics. Weren't them QFinalist when we missed it?

Like i already replied someone, the zambia that played china and with the way they played them and high tempo, it will be very difficulty for the SF to beat them.

chrisooblog:
Too many kids here same Falcons that is the only African team to make the quarter finals of an Olympic tournament won't have done better than Zambia smh grin
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by labas370(f): 12:27pm On Jul 25, 2021
the zambian team that played china yesterday will be difficult for the SF to win. I'm sure you didn't watch the match. If not lack of experience, the scoreline would have been something like 7:4 in favour of zambia.
China is ranked 15th.. Zambia is ranked 104th in fifa ranking.
And zambia balled china from the start of the whistle till the last one. disorganised them. Made them to committ a red card offence.

Last time we played in 2016 or so we won them but by then, they were still building their team and most of the players then were from their U-17.
To tell you the truth, i don't know how you have been following the SF but there needs the urgency for them to be sharp in their games. be fast and quick. If you watched our last game against USA and Portugal, you will notice that only the times we raised the tempo of our game were we dreadful.

I hope the Aisha buhari cup will hold so that we can get to play this zambian team.

dozai:
We keep underrating our SF. It no go tey they will meet this same Zambia team in AWCON. The result go shock you. For now we don't have any mate yet in Africa. Chinese female team has lost it. They used to be up there cos they and US first started female soccer professionally. But other countries have picked up. Soon na primary 1 seat dem go collect.
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by labas370(f): 10:55am On Jul 24, 2021
There's a big difference between Zambia's progression and E.G cheating.

If you have been following African football teams since 2016, you would seen the progress.

When I mean progress, I'm not just talking about their main senior team. I'm talking about their U17 and U20.

That is the progress I'm talking about and we all can see that they have started harvesting it unlike the E.G team that just filled their team with illegal players and transgenders.
There was no progression in E.G like U17 and U20.

timay:
If the team can remain consistent for at least 5 years, I'll rate the Zambian FA after then. We've been here before with Equitorial Guinea, when we thought that they will give the Super falcons a credible challenge in years to come, only for them to fall off again.

Really
This is how I will rate the female team ranking in Africa.

Nigeria
Zambia
Cameroon
South Africa

Other countries are not yet serious.

Nomyth:
This has got to be one of the best performances for an African Female team at the Olympics.

Their Male team also gave one of the best performances for an African team when they shocked Italy 4-0 in Seoul 88.
