Politics / Re: Kemi Adeosun: A ‘zuwo’ Or A Nero? by labiola: 1:20pm On Sep 24, 2016
Atimes I don't see reason why we like to compare Kemi Adeosun with NOI, both are class on their own right. NOI was minister of Finance during the Obasanjo regime and did another 5yrs with GEJ. Going by her academic qualifications and working experience with world Bank, you will agree with me that she out class Kemi Adeosun. So I didn't see any basis of comparison here. However, Is Kemi Adeosun doing well with the economy of the country ? my answer is yes looking at the environment she is operating now, I tell, this is a very difficult period in this country. It will be fair to say that the highest level of corruption and stealing were recorded during the time of NOI.

I feel so sorry for our generation, imagine someone insulting our collective intellectuals, if not because we the citizens of this country are gullible and docile, this kind of nonsense wont be happening in Nigeria. To you all there who keeps encouraging evil acts of all these politicians because of the political afflictions, religious and ethnicity, it is high time we have a rethink, because your future and that of your unborn children are at stake.

My dear, First of all, you came to a wrong place to seek advise. Most of the guys here are not smiling, they will end up giving you a wrong advise. My take is it, what you won't eat don't smell it. Please flee from fornication, if the guy really love you ,he will agreed with you. What if you had sex with him and decided to break your heart. Never allow anyone to force you against your wish. Best of luck.

This is a tough decision, considering what you will be saving if go for manual. I have both manual and Automatic, with Lagos taffic Automatically will be okay for you as a lady. Ever since I bought my manual car, I refused to take it to Redeemed camp, but I tried it last Friday and I regretted it. The traffic on that road almost finish me . I have decided not to use the manual car this week , because I need to recover from the pains of Friday.

I stand to be corrected dear people in the house. Can we have an amendment to this Pencom or PFAs act that would enable the employees get their pensions yearly? Instead of a lifetime saving which at the end is left in the hands of some unscrupulous elements to embezzle?

Bros, it is not possible. It is called retirement savings, you can only access it when you retired.

Honestly the pencom is doing a very good job. Kudos to you guys. However a lot still has to be done in the payment of accrued rights up to date. I also understand its not pencom's fault that it isn't paid up to date. God bless Nigeria.

Yeah, i never believed in the pension scheme until i started working in the industry, the reason is the same fear a lot of people have. On the issue of accrued right, PENCOM need to work that, the availability of fund determines when accrued rights are paid. Take Lagos state for example, they accrued rights every months, i see them clearing their backlog before the end of 2017. There will be a time in Nigeria where you will access your retirements fund a month or two months maximum after your retirement.

Pennywise:

If u have common sense and u are willing to learn, Google 'pension scam, Nigeria'.

With PENCOM, Pension money has become a free for all while retirees and beneficiaries die untimely deaths.

NO PFAs has any authority to touch money without approval? When was approval given by anybody to steal money in Nigeria? Where in the world are you from?

The billions of naira stolen regularly by these people didn't fall from the sky. They are pension contributions- people's sweat.

Tell us what we don't know about this credibility challenged scheme hijacked by criminals to extort Nigerians and maybe then we can begin to talk.

Right now you speak like u were either born yesterday or you are completely ignorant of the management crisis bedeviling Nigerian pension fund or the outright wholesale theft of people's pension contributions.

Trust, fidelity, law enforcement are the bedrock upon which pension anywhere in the world is built. Without these, it's a money pit that favours regulators and operators (administrators) to the detriment of contributors.

Nigerians want stiff sentences to these acts of egregious pension fund mismanagement/theft and not a little slap on the arm. Then Pay beneficiaries their due pension.

If u and Co were sent here to do some kind of pension fund laundry, you have done an awful job.

Bros, you are still a learner, you will do yourself a favour if you take your time and understand the new pension act passed during the Obasanjo era. The present Pension industry was established to address the past Pension frauds and delaying in payment of retirement benefit. I agree with you that in the past pension management has been a disaster, but that doesn't take the fact that the present Pension industry through PENCOM, PFA and Custodians are doing great work for everyone to have a good retirement plans. As at today, the fund has over 5.6trillion under the management. I can understand your fear, it is normal in a country like ours, but then, don't always condemn good service when you see one.

A friend lost his job about 12months ago.... he has applied for more than 3months.... 1N he has not seen..

They will say go and get bank verification
we will notify ur employers...
we have send letter to pencom Abuja To authorise us. ..
lies upon lies

Okay, let me quickly educate you so that you can also educate your friend. You can apply for 25% of your RSA balance after 4 months of temporary out of job. The first thing to do is to apply for 25%, fill some documents like Bank account form, evidence of loss of your job. PFA, will write your former employer to confirm if truely you are out of job. The letter from your employer is very important, if the employer's failed to reply the letter, the request will not be treated, from experience most of the employer dont response to the letter on time. Another, challenge always experince is failure of the employer to remit money duducted from employee which is what Pencom is trying to work on. Unfortunately, PFAs are not empower to enforce employers to remit. So tell your friend what stage of the process he is now.

A lot of brainless illiterates on this thread. The other said it's because PFAs steal money that's why business owners aren't paying. You're a fvcking twát! Take that to the bank.

Business owners fraudulently deduct pension contributions from staffer's accounts and refuse to remit same to the PFA. Some even deduct the whole 18% from the staff's salaries, when the law clearly states it is contributory! That's plain wicked.

Now, instead of us to support the PENCOM in stopping this injustice, we have brain dead people chatting tosh.

My brother, it is so sad, the level of our reasonings these days is worrying me. Can you imagine?

This is what Pencom want to do, many companies failed to remit, I work in an organisation where my pension was not remitted for 30months. I have written them to pay , if they fail not to remit my money in the next 3 mths , I take available option that is legally allow against them. The first one is to write petition against the coy to pencom. The second option is to take a liquidation proceeding against the company. For the lawyers among us who are complaining of no jobs, this is big business opportunity for you to make money . There is provision under the pension act to prosecute the directors of any company that failed to remit. All you need to do is to have as many clients whose money has been deducted and the employers failed to remit and act as their lawyer.

For as long as pension fund administrators continue to see pension funds as free money to be stolen, this scheme will lack support and confidence by the vast majority of business owners.

The law enforcement apparatus to oversee regulator and administrators is hopelessly deficient.

How often are these funds audited and how dependable are these audits?

The easiest way to massive loot opportunity now is pension fund. Nigerians would like to know what became of the numerous cases of pension fund scandal under Jonathan involving billions of naira?

We are convinced that such looting is still going on unhindered under Buhari until someone with privileged info is patriotic enough to write petition.

This woman expect people to throw their hard earned money into a pit for her to mismanage because she has a govt appointment?

Bros, before you comment next time try and a do a little research on the topic so that people who have more knowledge or info will not think you are a fool. Having said that, Pension industry today is the most regulated industy today, no PFAs have any authority to touch the money under its management without the PENCOM approval. The DG of pencom is trying a lot. Pls give it to her. It is only Nigeria employers that will deduct fund from their employees and fail to remit such. To me, this is welcome development, hope they enforce the law.

My friend, taking a decision in a situation like this take extra grace of God. I will advise you to seek the face of God. I was once in your shoe before and I must tell you, it is not all that is glitter is gold. There is a way that seems right but the end of it is destruction. Some of the companies we have in the country today entice one with good salary package, they will pay for 6months after that they start with salary delay, salary reduction, your pension deduction will not be remitted. Look at your present employment prospects, what is the career growth of the company, do they struggle to pay your salary? do they remit your pension deductions? Do they have good retirement plans? Pls consider all this before you take your final decision. Good luck bro

I totally agree with you that External Auditing is statutory.

However, i have my reservations on you last statement - *bombarding *accountant like you* with duties*? I'm quite sure you really do not understand the job duties of an Internal auditor else you would not have made that statement.

However, having tasted the two[ both external n Internal] . I prefer Internal Auditing any time any day because Internal Auditors have numerous opportunities for professional advancement due to their exposure to various business processes and sectors of the economy.

In the course of their engagements, Internal auditors gain domain and subject matter expertise while reviewing various business processes in line with best practices.

Combine this with business knowledge and you have professionals with the potential to function as better administrators than their operational
counterparts when the opportunity arrives.

In summary, this means that in future, i can fit into any department and do exceptionally well as a result of my knowledge and expertise gained from various engagements.

There are so many advantages of being an external auditor as well. Which i enjoyed when i was one.

However, i would appreciate it if we auditors stop distinguishing one as being superior. We all are auditors. We are one.

I agree with your view. However, I will take external audit over Internal Audit. I like the scope of IA is very wide, if you work in a big organisation, IA will be interesting because of your exposure to all the units or department. In writing your audit programme, you have to do your Kyc as part of your planning stage. This will give you the opportunity to understand their process and work flow, which will form your basis of your Programe. My issues with IA is that the management perspectives towards audit report. Having spent time reviewing a particular unit and write a beautiful report, the management will just collect is with no actions, this happens a lot in one man structure. I love External Audit because it helps you to always be on top of your job, you can't go to a clients office where you have all their finance staff being CA, they will mess you up.

#Peace#
