Madam or oga. Please read my whole post again and note that paragraph means I am not imposing anything on the person,also because I understand their parents opinion. No parent don't wanna be able to attend their kids marriage. Visa or not.

Will having a traditional wedding disqualify is from getting the K1 Visa? My parents are insisting on a traditional wedding since they won’t be available for the white wedding when we eventually go to the US. So can we have a small traditional ceremony to make up for that. What will be the result of that? Does the embassy regard traditional wedding as being married?

My advise to you is don't even bring up anything concerning your traditional marriage, also even in your social media. If you can change your facebook settings to block anyone that isn't your friend from viewing If you have trad pictures there

Because depending on the consular officer some might be adamant on the fact that it is a traditional marriage which is a customary marriage in our culture and it is termed "married".and you know our traditional marriage the man and the woman wear same outfit and all that stuff that goes with it.

I am not saying don't get traditionally married but it should never come up during your interview nor when they do their search because when you fill the ds160 you will submit all your social media accounts names.

Hello everyone, so I joined the chartered flight to US ,left Nigeria on Monday 15th juneand landed in Washington Dulles on Tuesday 16th june 12:18pm. Thank God because my visa was to expire July 7th. I had a connecting flight from Washington Dulles to my state.

The immigration part was easy but I was tensed. The first immigration officer asked me a trick question ,he said "oh you are here to be with your husband " then I replied "no, my fiance we are engaged " politely.
Second question" when is the marriage" my answer was "sometime end of july" he also asked where my final destination is and I told him. then he requested for the documents took a picture of me while my passport has been with him all the while,another officer took the documents.stamped my passport. Then said welcome and I can go get my bags.

Thank God for this first phase of the journey. On to the next. ��

So we have been waiting for news on international flight resumption and some of us visas are almost expiring. After all the stress just to see ones visa expire to go through a renewal process again. Yes sir. I didnt go back! However, I didnt use QLIFE. I used IOM in Abuja. I think people that used Qlife are in a better position to answer ur question

My own lil knowledge about it cos i did my medicals @qlife dec 2019,If you had your test @qlife they would hve sent your results to the embassy before your interview date ,on getting to the embassy they ll do a confirmation of your test result before the CO calls you,however qlife will give u a date to come for collection of your the card ,CD&a white sheet which carrys a scan copy of your passport photo (the CD which includes your xray results and co)you would be advised to travel with those documents too along with your sealed pack as its important too(as it includes your med reports incase some POE immigration officers want to misbehave and u ll need it too when adjusting status....

Bro thanks for your earlier response, another question. Did you go back to qlife to collect medical report before you travelled or you just went with the sealed packet from the embassy.

like i said it is case by case, some cases once isnt enough but i am not the judge of that, just an opinion for his case

My understanding to K1 is that the intending couples are just to meet in person while the foreign spouse goes back to file for the spouse here and all this lasts between 5 to 7months

But what about the package that the couples marries when the foreign spouse visits?

First off there are not packages that you decide and subscribe to.. They are visas that grant you access to a country and for you to gain such access you need to fit into the category of the visa you are applying for. Spouse visas are different from k1 visas.. No one is short it only depends on your case. Some people own took 1year some are 6 months and so on. So first off decide with your fiancee.which one are you guys doing?..then you begin from there. Also I think 6months is a short time after a divorce to meet and get engaged to someone else but if that's your case I suggest to meet the requirement of meeting 2 times before your petition. That's my opinion tho not a standard.

If your case is ready tho. why the wait? I don't know about the 30days timeline but I know you have 30days to completely fill the Ds 160 and sign it after that one won't be able to retrieve that particular one. You will have to start all over.

Just a tip guys:

make sure your affidavit of support is properly filled and ensure you don't require a joint sponsor but if you do make sure you go with the joint sponsors doc too to your interview. Also get your fiance(e)s w2,tax docs and pay slips if they are available.
All this is to avoid the idea of having to drop off doc later and all that administrative processing wait with passport with you

Also I learnt that the US are avoiding immigrants that would be a liability or in welfare in a few months or years. So prepare to answer the questions
1. What do you do?
2. What are you going to do when you get to the US?

Question 2 is tricky but make sure to emphasise that you will marry the love of your life and you will work to support your growing and new family.

Well hurry up so that when you are ready there would still be dates available before your case expiration date,because that in itself is an issue

I called the US embassy today! The agent was willing to tell me about the visa ban in regards to k-1 visa but he asked if I have an active case and required my name, passport number and date of birth. My case is closed since my visa has already been issued so I couldn’t proceed! At this point, I suggest that someone with an active case make the call. Here is the number; +234 1 227 8955.

Congratulations....mine was issued last week on travel docs I used portharcourt will it be sent there or it's still Lagos?

My American visa was denied under Section 212(a)(5)(A), when I asked the consular officer for the specific reason for the denial he didn't tell me, however he told me to get an immigration lawyer, what can I do, can I reapply for a new interview ?
