I understand your concerns but you should also understand that people are busy. Really busy. Nobody has abandoned this thread. Nobody has abandoned Freelancer either. The name of this thread shows that it is not restricted to any single platform. We follow the money. Just that it is easier for a newbie to break into the freelancing industry through Freelancer than probably other sites.
Honestly, every basic information you need to start with Freelancer is already here. Read from page 0 to 58. It will be easier if you ask specific questions after you have gone through the pages. Good luck

i stumbled cross your post, and decided to help. that is if you haven't solved it already.

now, if u r handy with soldering iron and have a little knowledge of electronics u can wire a small chip to help block backward flow of current (using a mosfet). another is to connect some number of diodes to do the same job. both have their ads and disads. i can send you a link for the ckt for that.
