What makes a man appealling? Is it his dashing good looks? Is it his rock-hard pecs and abs of steel? Or is it his smile and his personality that takes the top plum? In a society where everyone seems aesthetically astute, it's difficult to validate this question for sure. Sexiness is a very subjective matter and is very relative at that. It holds inconsonant views from each individual just as everyone squabbles over tastes in clothes and food. Hence, a universal answer to this blown-up question is an illusion. Nonetheless, having met men from all walks of life with radical tastes and personalities, I think I can provide authentic down-to-earth revelations regarding this subject.

So what makes a man sexy?

What makes a man sexy is but everything about him and even more. Whether it be on the surface or skin deep, it's just a matter of projection. Every man is sexy in their own ways. They just have to feel that in themselves so the seething sexiness comes out of them naturally.

It is said that family re-union goes a long way to help us bond together and to help us discover our long lost family members.They can also be important as learning tools that enable family members to revisit and reflect on the values of the family. And a powerful way to help bond families together.

With the divorce rate being so high, these days, so much of a family’s legacy can be lost or forgotten.

Here are some activities normally carried out during such re-unions,

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail

Mix all together. Put in 13 x 9 inch greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 sm. can evaporated milk
1 sm. can coconut

Living Room Decorating Ideas

Your living room is the heart of your house, you express yourself in a sophisticated editing of your surroundings. Most important to you is the drama that you can achieve by eliminating clutter, you can lead the eye to the main event, whether that be a dramatically-lit sculpture, a fabulous rug or a fantastic piece of art.

Your carefully-planned look can be ruined by a messy stack of unread mail. Look critically at where you'll need storage and think creatively. Do you always drop the mail on the coffee table after you walk in the door? Perhaps you need a sleek console table in the entryway with a large ebony box to stash the mail in before you mess up the living room.

Don't detract from what's most important If you have a dynamite view, maybe you don't want to spoil it with any window treatment. If you have a gorgeous piece of art, spend a little on a contemporary light to add drama and give the art breathing room on the wall.

Sophisticated leathers and textures add interest to a contemporary living room.

If your coffee table is brushed stainless steel, don't buy brass lamps. When your incidentals are harmonious, the eye will be drawn to the drama that you create. In a small living room you may be starting with an asset. Small square footage can create an intimate living space.

Where to begin?
Firstly you should add architectural details. For example in small spaces, built-in cabinets and bookshelves are great for storage and they can make the room seem larger by accenting the vertical and horizontal lines. If you build floor-to-ceiling shelves you can add a focal point to the room.

Think out of the box: Try arranging your furniture on a room-widening angle. Instead of another chair, add an oversize ottoman. When not used as seating, it makes a grand and comfortable statement.

Keep it simple: Especially in colors and window treatments. These elements can overpower a small space. Lighter colors will expand the space. Unfussy windows will draw attention to the expansive view, not the lack of space. Light fabrics will melt into the walls.

Expand: Is one wall wide? Play it up with a horizontal chair rail that lets the eye carry further. Use the same principle by hanging art, framed the same, in a series across the wall. Is your ceiling high? A tall secretary or bookshelf will draw attention to the space.

What is halitosis?

Halitosis is the medical term for bad breath.

Halitosis, as a general rule, is less among those who live in the city, compared to rural areas, those who are more affluent, higher in socio-economic status, those who are more educated or professional, and those in the younger generation.
Obviously, the financially handicapped could ill afford the luxury of toothpaste, dental floss, mouthwash, regular dental check-up and proper dental care. They may also be not as well-nourished, and as healthy, as those who can afford.

What causes halitosis?
There are a variety of causes of bad breath. Eating food that causes foul breath (like garlic, onion, etc), poor dental hygiene, decayed tooth or infection of the gums or oral cavity, diseases like diabetes, esophageal diverticulum, esophageal reflux, sinusitis, emphysema, etc. But the commonest underlying cause is poor dental hygiene where care of the teeth and mouth is neglected. There are people who do not brush their teeth at all and go to bed at night with food particles stuck in between their teeth. They may gargle and rinse their mouth with water (or water and salt) after each meal, or even use mouthwash, but the food caught in between their teeth (especially meat and fish) rot and stink like dead animals on the street. This is putrefaction and the foul smelling odor is from the sulfur compounds produced by the decaying meat, which usually results in bacterial infection (and more bad odor), and this makes the cycle a vicious one.

What are the types of bad breath?
Transitory halitosis is caused by food like onions and garlic and generally lasts from one day to day and a half. Some people develop halitosis after drinking pop or eating sweets, like dessert. The individual "oral metabolism" may have something to do with this observation. The other form of bad breath is the Chronic halitosis, which does not diminish or improve with time. It is permanently present until the cause is abolished. The bad odor comes from the bacteria in the mouth (between the teeth and on the tongue) which produce the foul smelling volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) in the form of hydrogen sulfides.

Can tooth infection cause infection in the heart?
Yes, tooth infection can cause the bacteria in the mouth to circulate in the blood stream to infect the heart valve, causing bacterial endocarditis, most especially in people who may have had rheumatic heart disease when they were young. This condition affects and weakens the heart valves, making them susceptible to infection. And those with artificial heart valves are even more prone to infection originating from tooth decay or infection in the mouth.

Does infected tonsils cause bad breath?
Yes, any infection in the oral cavity (in the teeth, gum, tongue, tonsils, any part of the mouth and throat) will cause halitosis.

Does eating bagoong, patis, century egg or durian cause bad breath?
Yes, but only if one does not do proper oral hygiene after eating any of these, or any other food items. If one brushes the teeth, does dental floss, gurgles with mouthwash, and maybe chews minted gum, after eating these food items, there should not be halitosis at all post-ingestion.

If, inspite of proper oral hygiene, bad breath is still present, what can it be due to?
If there is no tooth decay or any infection in the mouth or throat, the bad breath may be coming from sinusitis, emphysema or from the stomach (as in esophageal reflex, where the controlling valve between the stomach and the food pipe is not closing ---airtight---properly). A dental, or even medical, evaluation may be needed to ascertain the specific cause of this persistent halitosis.

Can mouthwash eliminate bad breath?
No, mouthwash alone cannot do the trick. First, the food particles that can rot must be removed from in-between the teeth immediately after each meal (by dental flossing, since tooth pick alone will not do the job). Then, brushing the teeth using toothpaste (that contains fluoride and other ingredients like Poly (methylvinylether) maleic acid coplymer and triclosan) for added tooth protection, is essential at least 3 times a day, after each meal. Mouthwash can be used as a last step in this routine as an added regimen. A study made on 15 mouthwashes showed that most masked the bad breath for a few minutes, only a few were still effective after a few hours. Most of the products sold over-the-counter do not eliminate halitosis.

What are the dental problems caused by bacteria?
Besides bad breath, the other problems caused by germs in our mouth include cavities, gum problems, plaques and tartar formation. Therefore, the routine regimen of dental flossing (to eliminate food particles that will rot and harbor bacteria), tongue-scraping, toothbrushing (to scrub food elements, juices and stains from the teeth, and protecting the teeth and gums with those ingredients in the toothpaste), and gurgling (with mouthwash that contain bacteria killing, and plaque-and-tartar preventing ingredients), and visiting your dentist at least every 6 months will not only eliminate bad breath but lead to a healthier dental and oral state.

Can mouth containing alcohol cause cancer?
Yes, according to a 1991 study in the Journal of the American Dental Association, which stated that mouthwashes "containing more than 25% alcohol could increase the risk of oral and pharyngeal (throat) cancer by 50%". Fortunately, most, if not all, mouthwashes in the market contain less than 15% alcohol.

How effective are breath-freshener capsules?
If taken as directed, and as a part of the comprehensive regimen we have discussed above, these breath-freshener capsules could be of help, especially for those with gastrointestinal reflux.

How about chewing gum?
Not by itself, but if added to the daily oral hygiene regimen we recommended, chewing (sugar-free) gum can be of help achieving a fresher and kissable breath.

Do people know they have bad breath?
It is odd but most people with chronic halitosis do not know they have it. Their own sense of smell is so conditioned to the bad breath in their mouth to the point that they do not even perceive or know they have halitosis. And their friends and relatives (including most spouse) will not even tell them, "to spare" them from the embarrassment (which actually leads to more embarrassment because of the persistence of this very offensive problem.) So, the next time you see your lover or friend, or relative, beg him or her to be candid with you. This honesty might change your reputation and love life forever.

How prevalent is infertility?

Infertility is the inability of a couple to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. Its escalating incidence reflects today's intentional delay in marriage and in having the first child.

What causes infertility?
The factors leading to infertility are sperm disorders (35%), ovulatory disorders (20%), female tubal dysfunction (30%), abnormal cervical mucus (5%), and unidentified factors (10%).

Is infertility more common among females?

It appears that is the case, in the approximate ratio of about 55 to 35, female to male.

Does fever affect sperm production?

Spermatogenesis (sperm production) is continuous and requires about 72 to 74 days for maturation. Production is most efficient at 34 degrees centigrade (93.2 degrees Fahrenheit), so exposure to excessive heat or prolonged fever within 2 to 3 months of sperm analysis can adversely affect sperm count, motility and morphology (size, shape).


What is ovulatory dysfunction?
This is a condition where a woman is unable to ovulate (produce viable eggs for fertilization), as in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or Chronic Anovulation, Luteal Phase Deficiency, and Hypothalamic Amenorrhea. The other causes of infertility in the females are tubal dysfunction (associated with past event of pelvic inflammatory diseases), abnormal cervical mucus (normal cervical mucus acts as a biologic filter to prevent influx of vaginal bacteria that could kill the sperm), and some are due to unknown causes.

What are the diagnostic tests for male infertility?
History and physical examination is essential to help the physician in deciding what tests to order. The usual diagnostic aids are semen analysis (the major test), performed after 2-3 days of sexual abstinence; immuno bead test for antisperm antibodies; hemizona assay; sperm penetration assay; and, rarely, testicular biopsy.

How about tests for female infertility?
Ovulation Monitoring (daily measurements of basal body temperature), which is not very accurate. More reliable are: Pelvic Ultrasound Monitoring of ovarian follicle diameter; and endometrial biopsy. To detect ovulation, there are now predictor kits available that detect an increase in the urinary luteinizing hromone (LH) excretion 24 to 36 hours before ovulation. Other biochemical parameters can be used by the physician to determine if ovulation has taken place.

How successful are the current treatments for infertility?
More than ever before, the success rate today, especially among females, is better, depending on the underlying cause of the infertility. In general, the rate of success among males are much lower, depending on the underlying factor. For more detailed information, consult your Family Physician, Urologist or Gynecologist.

What is Assisted Reproduction?
This is the science of helping women have a successful pregnancy. One technique is In Vitro Fertilization, used among patients with tubal disease, endometriosis, husband with oligospermia (low count) and/or sperm antibodies, and unexplained infertility. The procedure involves drug stimulation of the ovaries to produce oocytes (eggs), retrieval of the oocyte by Ultrasound-guided needle biopsy of the follicle transvaginally, fertilization of the oocyte in the "test tube" with washed sperm, culturing the embryos for about 40 hours, after which 3 to 4 embryos are transferred to the uterine cavity (womb). The rest of the embryos may be frozen in liquid nitrogen for future transfer in subsequent natural cycle, if needed.

LAGOS - Police have arrested five members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in southwestern Nigeria on suspicion of gang-raping a teenage schoolgirl, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.


The 17-year-old was abducted and raped 10 days ago in Ilesa town in Osun state after she refused to testify against an opposition party at an election tribunal, according to local media and the opposition party.

Hundreds of petitions are being heard across Africa’s most populous country to resolve disputes arising from elections last April that were so badly rigged they were deemed not credible by international observers.

‘The girl was raped and given inhuman treatment,’ a spokesman for the police in Osun said by telephone from the state capital Osogbo.

He said the five suspects, all members of the PDP, will soon be charged. Four other suspects are still on the run.

Reports of the rape have sparked outrage, with one local women’s group threatening to stage street demonstrations.

Spokesman for PDP in Abuja was not available to comment.

The Action Congress party, which has challenged the election result in Osun that gave sitting Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola victory, said the rape was part of a plan to muzzle opposition in the state.

‘The girl’s only offence is that she was present when a PDP chieftain was committing an electoral fraud in Ilesa during the April election,’ AC spokesman Lai Mohammed said.

‘This is not just sheer criminality, it is bestiality to gang-rape a 17-year-old secondary school girl,’ Mohammed said.

April polls were billed as a watershed for Nigeria, marking the first democratic transfer of power from one civilian to another in its 47-year post-independence history.

But fraud, violence and intimidation—mostly by the PDP—were so widespread the main local observer group called the vote a ‘charade’.

President Umaru Yar’Adua, whose landslide victory is being challenged by the opposition, acknowledged shortcomings in the elections but said he believed he had the mandate of a majority of Nigerians. He has pledged to reform the electoral process

If you've been rejected many times then I presume you are approaching women in the wrong way. Examine your approach to women. Try to discover what it is you're doing that's turning them off you.

Rejection does get easier in time. It would be no problem if you were rejected every time, if just once someone said yes and she turned to be your soul mate.
