Hello!
Any whatsapp group for Georgian college students? My sis is going this year September. She is already here on visitor's visa and had just sent her passport to Ottawa for stamping.

She needs to link up please.

I heard it takes 78 hours for a PCC to be issued for diasporean application. Does anyone know of it it 78 business hours or regular hours.

I submitted and paid for mine and my spouse's application on 29th Nov and there hasn't been any update since then.

You can do your medical with a copy of ur passport. You only need a doctor ascent on it at the IOM office

Really?? I have never heard of this before. That would really be a big burden off our shoulders if this is true.

Are you certain about this? Can you elucidate more on the doctor's ascent? I don't quite understand that please.

There must be a scan copy of his passport, I think it’s just passport number they will need to book…

He only need passport to do medicals not book Medicals…

Book, before the date he is given, his passport will be back


Answer mails, Nairobi nor go answer but are quick to change already approved request to processing…

Seriously my sister , I shouldn't have replied that mail, over excitement caused it.

So we cancelled the medical appointment at IOM Lagos for 21st and booked an earlier date for 2nd Nov.

We have sent mails to VFS telling them to hasten the return of his passport so he can do his medicals since it won't be stamped.
VFS sent a vague reply this morning saying his passport isn't ready for pickup. Meanwhile if got to Abuja since on Monday, I wonder what they are doing with it if it's not going to be stamped.

We are patiently praying and waiting, hopefully, it comes back before 2nd of November.

UPDATE!!!
Before any reply came in here, I replied the mail that he will retake the medicals on 21st Nov as I got an appointment for that day at Lagos. I booked flight for 8th December. He needs to take care of important things so he can't travel earlier than 23rd November.

He also sent his Passport to the Visa office already in Lagos.

Meanwhile, we received a mail this morning telling us to disregard the PP request and to send his medicals to be updated and PP request sent again once he does his medicals.

He needs the passport to take his medicals so i sent a mail asking if his passport will be returned asap with no visa? Waiting for the reply.

will update as soon as i can. The passport request is still there, but the status has changed to 'we are process....', and they sent a medical request letter. Meanwhile, I will check to see if can see an earlier date for medicals but he needs the passport. I dont know what will happen.

I am updating this just in case anybody finds him/herself in similar situation.

We would like to reply the mail by telling them we will redo the medicals. However, we are choosing 21st of Nov for the medicals at IOM Lagos and we are booking our his flight for 2nd week of Dec.
Here is my question please, after the medicals is done, does it need to by updated on his page before he travels or can he travel without minding if it has been updated on his page? Also, if it needs to be updated, how long does it take?

Yes pls submit SOWP, I wasted lots of time with thte visitor's visa. The rave is gone and the chance of approval is sooooo slim.

Came to Canada as a student on the 9th of September, 2021.
I put in my hubby's Visitor's visa application on December 5th, when the rave of Visitor visa approval was high, few of my colleagues that put in theirs got theirs approved and mine was refused sometime in March 2022. Refusal reason is home ties and invalid reason for a visit.

I quickly submitted another Visitor's Visa on 5th of April, 2022 as my study permit was going to expire soon. Though I later got extension for Dec, 31st 2022.

I have been waiting for a response even up till now, nothing came. The GCM notes I requested showed nothing tangible.

A friend of mine convinced me to put in SOWP after hers got approved in less than a month. I finally did on the 16th of September.

I was hoping they'd cancel the visitors visa but nothing happened. I was so frustrated so I sent them a mail asking them if we did anything wrong to them that we don't know about

Before that, I erroneously omitted one file during the application so i sent it via webform. I got a message asking for complete details regarding the file and i provided it.
Came back from work today and about to go take a hot bathe when i decided to check his mail. I saw application updated. I rushed to his page and saw medicals updated and I gave a very huge hiss not knowing something else was there. I lazily scrolled down (I always do this before logging off everyday), and I saw application was approved!!!!!

God is never late!!!!! We are grateful and the testimony will get to everybody. Just pray for the perseverance and patience though because reading the mail i sent to IRRC now, it was very polite but it was a frustrating mail with a lirril bit of werey and guilt tripping

Is the online application for transcript going to WES functional? Someone is advising me to do it manually but i can see that there is a site to request for it online.

Hi LadyBlaq, you can use your profile or use the one you opened for him to apply for SOWP. I don't think it matters anyways.

If you already finished your studies, I'd suggest you hold on from applying for his SOWP, apply for your own PGWP, be sure you find job in NOC O, A or B and then apply for his SOWP else he will risk refusal on the basis that you are no longer a full-time student. At this point you need a lot of patience.

When was the last time anyone posted visitor visa approval for spouse here?

Are they still approving Visitor Visa for spouses of international students?

I already put in the visitor's visa before the approval momentum dwindled,

I plan on putting an SOWP if there is a next time but not now, I just want to know if they are still approving it.

I want to give all glory to the Almighty God who can only do this. I did not do anything special except to pray daily to God using the book of John 14:13-14. He is indeed the Almighty. My timeline is stated below:

Application Submitted: May 6, 2022
Biometric s date: May 17,2022
Medical Request: June 16,2022
Medical Done at Qlife: June 30,2022
Medical updated as pass: July 6, 2022
PPR for Spouse(OWP) and 3 kids(SPP): July 8,2022

I used same GCkey that I used for my Study visa last year. I didn't create new GCkey for my family Application .
All glory to God who showed me mercy.

Documents submitted:
All IMM forms
proof of study (enrolment letter, transcript, tuition receipt)
proof of relationship ( marriage certificate, enough pictures)
study leave and employee introduction letter
wife certificate( she has only NCE).

I entered Canada in January 18, 2022. PGD Student(2 years program).

Do you mean you started a fresh application for your spouse and kids with the same GCkey(your own profile)? So I can do that for my spouse who is still in Nigeria? If I had known this was feasible, I wouldn't have opened a new application profile for my spouse.

Oh dear! It can't get worse than a temporary refusal. Did you reapply for gcms notes or you will work with the one you already got?

You are right. I can't kill myself. The refusal came in a day after I submitted the rebuttal documents. I am very certain it was not looked at, whoever was at the end of the line just wanted to get it over with.


Lol. I applied for another GCM after I reapplied again.

Hello. Same process with applying for a fresh visa. Just few documents, same site, proof of funds, enrollment/co-work letter from school, letter of intent and 150 cad dollars.

Sis, I think we are in the same shoes. I'm also taking a one-year program that will expire in April. my hubby applied for SOWP in April last year no update to date. He applied for visiting visa on December 27th he was rejected on Feb 2nd "based on the purpose of your visit", I'm still waiting for the GCMS note. When I consulted a few immigration lawyers and also my college's immigration department, they told me to apply for a study permit extension asap so my hubby can notify IRCC with my updated LOA, if not my hubby's SOWP will also be rejected. If the SP permit is less than 6 months spouse's SOWP or VV won't be considered. 1 yr study is not advisable during this covid period.

It was a foolish mistake made out of my naivety. I came to Canada with a wrong enrolment letter(graduation date as April instead of August), I was given till July 31st on my study permit.
Anyway, I have gotten the correct enrolment letter and have applied for extension.

I am not sure it will come before the webform i intend to raise is reviewed, though i will put it up that i applied for extension.

Rejection reasons were: Purpose of visit, family ties to Canada and home country, Travel history. For family ties, I addressed it with assets and his aged father. I stated how he is saddled with the responsibility of taking care of his aged father who is 80 both emotionally and financially.... a lot went into this part I won't lie. Purpose of visit, was to bring my younger son to me and also be able to visit me during his vacation especially during important moments in our lives such as wedding anniversary, birthdays and graduation and to also assist settle my son in with me this period. I didn't do so much with the travel history part, I just stated that he is a family oriented person and has focused on building his own family and taking care of his aged parents all this years.. couple with his own career pursuit so this hasn't given him time to plan a vacation abroad but he is doing it now because it has become necessary to support his wife's dream. With a 7page LOE God came through. He will come through for you ijn. I know how you feel but just hang in there.
