TV/Movies / Re: Are Nigerians Pround Of Nollywood Actors & Actresses? by ladyg2(f): 3:44am On Mar 27, 2011
Im proud of our Nigerian Actors/Actresses. As a matter of fact, sometimes I envy them. They are so well known. Not only in Naija but also in different cultures like Jamaica,

The thing one has to remember is that there is a price for being famous. And it is that ppl will judge you, for good and for bad. Thats the bottom line.

I mean look at American Celebrities and the way critics, magazines, and the media talk about them,

I mean its just a fact of the world. One wouldnt say that Americans are not proud of Lindsey Lohan. She has been in and out of rehab, and there has been many negative things spoken about her, but that doesnt make Americans hate her.
Romance / Re: Blackbery Craze: An Encounter With A Blackberry Babe by ladyg2(f): 3:32am On Mar 27, 2011
abeg, BB is so outdated and they bout to sell the BB messenger or pinging or whatever to Apple and other companies because BB need more money. They are really outdated compared to the Android and other newer phones out there now. So why not get an iphone with the BBmessenger feature? that way, u r still pinging,
Celebrities / Re: Janet Jackson's Secret Daughter: Picture Revealed! by ladyg2(f): 12:41pm On Mar 20, 2011
My goodness! All of the Jackson Family has the same nose and the same top lip. I mean really. It is serious! You can tell if someone is part of the Jackson Family by taking a good look at their nose and lip.

PS: she looks alot like Janet.
Romance / Re: How Come Most Nigerian Ladies/chics Have Protruding Abdomen by ladyg2(f): 12:20pm On Mar 20, 2011
its because of the money. once u have too much money, u tend to do everything else in excess. and eating/dining out is one of them. another thing is exercising. and definitely foods like pounded yam, eba, rice and others has lots of starch AKA carbs in them. Carbs minus Exercise equals Big Belle
Celebrities / Re: Nollywood’s Sexiest: Genevieve, Ini Or Mercy? by ladyg2(f): 12:13pm On Mar 20, 2011
I hate to say this but all 3 has positive and negative sides to them. And to make a perfect woman with all three of them involved, I would have Mercy's body, then Ini's face, then Gene's personality. Now that will make the perfect Nollywood actress.
Culture / Re: Would You Want To Be Born Again As A Nigerian? by ladyg2(f): 6:11am On Mar 20, 2011
I would love to be born again as a Nigerian. There is no other culture out there that I'd rather be a part of. And I dont see a reason for being anything other than a Nigerian.
Religion / Re: Are Large/Mega-churches Biblical? How Large Is A Church Supposed To Be? by ladyg2(f): 6:05am On Mar 20, 2011
soooo, are u saying that we should start stopping people from coming to church just because 'a church should be small?'

Nairaland / General / Re: Which Housemaid Would You Prefer? Male Or Female? by ladyg2(f): 4:20am On Mar 14, 2011
I would rather have a male housemaid than female. Only because no matter how much you trust a man/husband, temptation arises and body no be wood. (especially judging by the earlier replies of some males talking about "polishing my dish when my wife is on disposal", BS)

Anyway, another thing that I will consider are my kids. It would be good if i had kids of one gender. If not, no housemaid what so ever because they can only (intensionally or unitensionally) destroy one's home.
Education / Re: Why Do Pple Think That Studying Abroad Is Easier by ladyg2(f): 4:09am On Mar 14, 2011
OK, so I DO NOT have any experience with education outside of the US. However, I can use some of my friend's experience. She said uni in Naija is more harder than the states. I feel like it is because she is married to a man who is stable financially and otherwise in the states. So working jobs to make money and to make ends meet isnt her issue. She also said it is easy in the states because most of the exams are multiple choice while in Naija, everything is essay. Also, she said that in nigeria there are only one round of exams unlike the states where you have test one, two, three and four, including the final in a sum of 4/5 months.

I dont know o. but in my opinion, the stress of a foreign student in a foreign land will be MUCH MORE higher than being in the land that he/she was raised. in the states there is no "i will go talk to a teacher and have sex with him and he will let me pass the class", in the states u have to work hard for ur money even if it includes working full time to pay rent and to make ends meet while working to pay tuition.

I think it all boils down to different things: what the person is studying, and whether the person has a relative or someone that he/she knows in the states in order to have a source of help when things crash.
Celebrities / Re: Hollywood Rejects Actress Tonto Dikeh by ladyg2(f): 6:46am On Mar 11, 2011
i like tonto, alot. sooo, all this foolishness about her isnt bothering me. only because, there are countless women out there who do EVERYTHING that tonto is/was doing: bleaching, sleeping around, breaking homes, i mean, countless. but no, we wont talk about those other ppl. lets just focus on tonto. abeg, get a life. and if u dnt like d way she acts, not every Nollywood actress/actor is a good actress/actor.

also, my motto: the more you do something, u get better at it. u cant just judge her acting by watching ONE of her films or one of her films that she INITIALLY acted in. check out some of the movies that she has been doing now. if it is d money that you are complaining of, watch them on youtube, curtsey of NollywoodLove's channel.

God placed us in different countries for a reason. if one is doing well in naija, let them stay there. its not a necessity (although it is definitely beneficial on one's part) to spread one's horizons. she is doing fine as a Nollywood actress. she just needs to brush her game up a bit and step it up. BTW, THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT; thats for everyone! if Hollywood doesnt want her, abeg, she still has fans in naija and abroad who appreciate her movies. PERIOD
Culture / Re: Non-verbal communication that is considered offensive to Nigerians....... by ladyg2(f): 4:57am On Mar 10, 2011
winking. I'm not too sure if it is a cultural thing or personal because some people think of a wink as someone flirting, some think of it as another way of saying 'hi' silently. To me, it depends on who is offering the wink
