Redmi note 8 series is ranked higher than its note 9 counterpart on Antutu. Why is that and why should I buy a phone much expensive with less capabilities than its predecessor?

Maybe based on the fact that a newer phone doesn't mean better.

Personally, I am waiting for the RN9 pro max and if the performance of the Redmi note 9 pro max is not significant than that of RN8 pro then I will just stick to the RN8 pro for a while.

Gcam is built on snapdragon. Note 8 pro came with MediaTek processor. The ones available now have been re-engineered for MediaTek but it is not stable yet.

The camera that came with my phone is doing wonders though. I might just have to settle for it.

My own issue then was my wallpaper (gallery picture) reverting after sometime even after applying from the theme app.

All i know is, it has to do with compatibility. Either you change the font you are using or the theme or both.

It's becoming annoying

If someone can recommend nice themes or something sha maybe another theme will work

I thought i offered a solution to you previously.

Change the theme, i downloaded another theme from the app and ever since then my wallpaper doesn't revert to the default

Try to restart your phone immediately after changing to your desired theme/wallpaper/screensaver. I had the same problem when I newly updated too.

Yeah i always restart the phone after every change then but Still my wallpaper reverted back, i guess the wallpaper wasn't compatible with the theme or the font wasn't compatible with the wallpaper or whichever way.
I changed the theme by downloading one from the app, used my desired wallpaper and fonts and it hasn't reverted back till date.

So I got my note 8 pro earlier this week
And it has been FANTASTIC
i did a little bit of tweaking and I now have a small problem I don't know how to resolve
I use the launcher that came with the phone as well as one dope theme I found on their theme app
So yesterday I did this region thing and went to India to get a font and brought it back to Nigeria
So my small issue is this
I could be using the phone for hours now and then it suddenly just takes me to the homepage and back to the default theme...the font still remains though

Issue is I still want to be able to use my theme or any other theme without the phone cancelling them

P.S if there's any nice feature or tweak to make my Xiaomi experience better please let me know
-i haven't also done any update yet.....still feeling the whole new phone vibe and exploring the current update before I update next week or the week after

I had an issue quite similar to yours on the same device. Mine is my wall paper changing back to the default after some time. The issue persisted even after updating.

I decided to download a new theme from the app, used my desired fonts and a wallpaper from my gallery and it has not reverted ever since

Yeah some sort of pending update, i am scared maybe the update will mess up my battery or some weird activity might just pop up embarassed

Nope it isn't stable yet.. I remember it was stable one time until i changed to my current font (amaranth) I don't know maybe it has to do with fonts or it's a bug i have changed regions, selected wallpapers from the Theme app yet all have been futile.

You can do this in 2 ways:
1. Long press the homepage(don't press any icon). Select the wall paper option and choose any you want either local picture or saved.
2. Open the theme app, click on wallpaper option and browse both local and online to tour satisfaction.

I have been using the second method you suggested but the wallpaper always revert back to the default (even after changing region to India)

Let me try the first method

One from the compilation thread and one from one guy on YouTube... The camera keeps crashing anytime i click on video. I later settled for hypercam

Its 15hours DAT was written on the carton for lowest speed, and 9hours for medium. I really need to know if I should go and complain to the seller.

Boss genius43 i downloaded the gcam apk for RN8 pro along with the config file but it keeps crashing anytime I click on 'video'

Also i cannot find the pictures i snapped with gcam and i haven't seen any difference in picture quality between the gcam and the stock

I know i am not getting some settings right as i am new to this brand.
