Pounded Yam and Egusi for sure. Funnily enough, I crave it more in America than in Nigeria. Tox www.NigerianFoods.com |
There must be some naija food that was also created by accident. Isn't hausa koko (http://www.nigerianfoods.com/products/hausa-koko) a recent invention? |
DTunjo:The pic of this smiling eba is just too good. The creativity involved reminds me of www.NigerianFoods.com. That said, that eba looks sweet!! |
It's funny that this thread is about annoying people you meet when buying suya. Would have loved it to be about the interesting people you meet when buying suya. Or the different kinds of suya that people love. Even though I don't have suya where I'm at (the US), I'm gonna have to make do with Kilishi - www.NigerianFoods.com/products/kilishi-small ![]() |
I'll even put Pounded Yam and Amala in there. Even though I work for a Nigerian food company I would not recommend eating like that before meeting your woman. Maybe after but before will dull your runs. Tox www.NigerianFoods.com |
Pounded Yam and Egusi Soup with large meat - not those small chunks that are just garnish. When I was in Canada I was stumped. Luckily in the US I can order from www.NigerianFoods.com. |
Wow the stories here are moving. Hi guys, I have a quick favor to ask if you have 30s. I'm a student at Dartmouth. For an entrepreneurship class, I started www.NigerianFoods.com, a service for delivering Nigerian ingredients to all 50 US States. Please take a 30-second survey to help us with our service -> http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PJ6WY2M |

I'm loving this discussion. I personally went through a ghetto lifestyle phase, but it was just a phase and it happened when I was in Naij. I have a quick favor to ask if you have 30s. @Gelatoman I hope you're still hot on your idea. Here is a link to 101 cities with the most residents who were born in Nigeria - http://www.city-data.com/top2/h118.html I'm actually also in the food business but I'm a student. I like www.AllNigerianRecipes.com too. I use them for recipes and then order my food online from www.NigerianFoods.com I wish the recipes site could just let me buy the food there. |
that's true. i just read a great post that i had to share: Just met a typical Nigerian toilet restroom attendant, but with a dream, singing for the tip, " No soap, No hope, No spray, No lay, No Wash, she no go tosh (touch), No armani, No kitten" , LWKMD |
Just checked out this site www.lwkmdie.com. Really funny - kind of like a fmylife for nigerians. Although, I see quite a few nairaland jokes posted. So tell me nairalanders, have u bn double-posting your jokes? Fair play anyway, the more ppl laugh, the merrier. |
Very surprised when I entered my street address in Google Maps to find that they had mapped out the streets. Pretty impressive. I have been keen to know whether there is a way of trading stocks online in Nigeria. That way, I can manage my account from abroad. Why don't we have a system like this? Thoughts? |
It points to a deeper problem; that we are not a patient bunch. This wasn't even an ambiguous line - u know, the ones where ppl are crowding behind. This was straight up walk in front because the country is free. Another problem is on the side of the service ppl who shld call them out for jumping ahead. They just ignore the situation and pretend its not their business. |
What's the deal with us nigerians and the inability to line up at restaurants, embassies etc.? I was in dolphin buying shawarma and this woman jumps in front of me as I am lining up. Let me add that she looked like a professional educated worker. I politely ask her,"Are you jumping in front of me?" She replied, "Yes I am, it's a free country." Free country? Free country? Is that a serious reply? I let her jump in front of me but I was seriously mystified by why a civilised woman would behave like this. |
