Former Big Brother Naija housemates, Jon Ogah, has revealed why Rico should be celebrated.

Ogah said Rico was full of talents, the reason he should be celebrated by Big Brother viewers.

The former housemate further spoke on resemblance with Rico, saying he is happy to get such compliments.

According to him, Rico should be celebrated.

Ogah on his Twitter page wrote, “Many of you say Rico looks like me and to me that is a compliment.

“He is a talent. I saw him on the show “Tinsel” and “Life 101” on Ebony Life TV. He is good. We all should celebrate talent like that. #BBNaija

In recent times, popular Nigerian rapper, Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, aka CDQ, has been hogging news headlines for the wrong reasons. But this time around there seems to be a bit of a good news about him as he has become the first Nigerian artiste not signed to G-Worldwide record label, to feature Kiss Daniel on a song.

In a chat with Showtime, CDQ, who released his latest single titled, ‘Gbayi’, just yesterday, featuring embattled former G-Worldwide signee, Kiss Daniel, denied allegations of exploiting Kiss Daniel to save his music career which has been heavily criticised and described as “Street Music”.

“Kiss Daniel and I have got chemistry. It’s natural when two people connect musically and have a good heart. I guess that’s why the collaboration worked out between me and him. We are both exploiting each other because we are tapping into each other’s fan base. Basically, we just got musical connection and we vibe, just like it happened between Davido and I , Wizkid and I, also. Being the first Nigerian artiste outside G-Worldwide to feature Kiss Daniel wasn’t something I expected to happen so soon.

This means that there is something he saw in me also before choosing to work with me. So, there’s nothing like anyone taking advantage of the other. It’s a rub my back I rub yours thing”

he said.

Residents of Ile-Ife were on 23rd Friday put in a state of fear as men of the Mobile Police clashed with thugs in the town.

It was gathered that trouble started when some mopol officials raided a shop at Ojoyin where some hoodlums sold hemp and marijuana.

It was learnt that the mobile pollicemen attacked the thugs with weapons and threatened to kill them. As a result of this, the thugs launched an attack to the mopol officials at the shop.

It however led to a serious gun battle as the mopol and thugs engaged.

On hearing the sound of gunshots, residents fled away for their lives, traders shutdown market in many areas, such as Lagere, Mayfair, Ojoyin, Akarabata and many others.

According to a transport worker in Lagere, who craved anonymity said that, “One person has been confirmed dead during the clash, many have been Injured. No one could pass Lagere road when the mopol officials were shooting. Everyone fled.

Afro-fusion star singer, Burna Boy made an attempt to correct the notion about the common use of Afrobeat, during an interview on Radar Radio. The singer said contrary to popular opinion, only FELA does Afrobeat.

The term ‘Afrobeat’ has become a commonly used term in the current Nigerian music community.

A Nigerian music journalist named, Dennis Peter, in his article about music activism in Afrobeat, stated that “Afrobeats simply lumps every contemporary genre of music being made in Africa into a giant blob.”

Indeed, several artistes have claimed Afrobeat as their preferred genre of music but Burna Boy has come out with a contrary opinion.

In his interview with Radar Radio, where he was referred to as the “King of Afrobeat”, Burna Boy corrected the journalist by stating that he makes Afrofusion music and not Afrobeat.

He stated that only FELA Kuti does Afrobeat as far as he is concerned, even though a lot of other Nigerian artistes would like to be seen as Afrobeat purveyors.
