She works in Oil company my foot!!. While her MD and other directors can not afford same luxury.!!! In Cases of Fraud, you have to proof your source of income!. People shouting about Buratai don't understand how the politics is played. Buratai declared the house in his asset declaration as belonging to his wife!. His wife incidentally comes from a rich home too. Diezani on the other hand did not declare many of these assets in her own forms, and could not have done so since she was overwhelmed with cash when she got in and she already made the declarations as Transport minister during Yaradua's time before. Most of these mansions all over the places were acquired during her time in office, hence their absence in her asset declaration form. To me, even if Buratai is guilty, while I prefer all thieves to be caught and dealt with, I would rather one thief is caught rather than two thieves going scot free. The Obazee of a guy is biting more than he can chew. FRC has no business regulating more than finance and accounting of the various organisations! aminulive:So if he is dabbling into corporate governance of the various organisations, it is outside its mandate. He should have focused on the finances and how it is accounted for. Shikena. Moreso, this was the same guy used to scuttle SLS then. He made FGN to spend money on unnecessary litigation then which FRCN lost to SLS. Although, it was like a blessing in disguise for SLS as probably would not have been Amir of Kano without that conflict with GEJ government.! FRC has been moving from litigation to litigation in trying to muscle several organizations. More so, his tenure has ended. It is already five years since his assumption of office!. What FRC should have done, is to put strong regulations in place to control how the Churches and the other NGOs run their finances. It could even stipulate that no signatory to the finance books and account of the organisations (or be in charge of the money) can remain so for more than certain no of years. And even empower banks to implement same. |

You surely dont know what you are talking. Lagos IGR was less than a billion naira per month during Tinubu. Tinubu put down the foundation for increased IGR during his second term, increasing it to more than 10 billion per month. Fashola continued in his stead and hit 20 billion per month and Ambole has already taken on their steps and it keeps increasing. Now the Lagos monthly IGR is higher than yearly IGR of some states. During GEJ tenure, Delta, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom (due to very high Federal allocation & 13% derivation) used to have similar yearly budget amount as Lagos in the neighbourhood of 350billion to 400billion per anum. Yet mostly nothing to show, other than few roads. Check this years budget of these states, Lagos has dwarfed all of them! Do you still think the Lagos governors are mediocre like your governors!!!! Nigerian government as a whole is against cigarette yet we still tax it. With this Atiku's logics, cigarette should not be taxed! For your info., the extra tax on Alcohol is a penalty to curtail it and hence, required by the state to clean up the mess caused by its use by the populace.!
