Arisheloaded: I'm a fresh graduate, I majored in Business Education (Accounting Option) in one of Nigeria's foremost University. I am someone who believes in making a difference and not just earning a pay.
I'm quite started with the way employers view my course as though it is irrelevant to the workplace. Hence, I think I need a defined career for myself.
Also, taking Accounting as a career is a no-no for now because I didn't study pure Accounting and going for ICAN isn't possible now due to paucity of funds (though, planning to further when I get a job).
Thanks in anticipation of your response.

Politics › APC Spokesmen Ask Yoruba Monarchs To Pray For Fayose by lakezone67(op): 8:27am On Apr 20, 2016 |
The publicity secretaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South West states have blasted Governor Ayodele Fayose for his questionable conduct and objection to the $2bn China loan to Nigeria.
The Punch reports that the criticism was contained in a statement signed by the APC spokesmen Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya (Ondo), Taiwo Olatunbosun (Ekiti), Sola Lawal (Ogun), Joe Igbokwe (Lagos) and Morakinyo Akintola (Osun).
Comparing Fayose’s behavior before and after he assumed office for the second term, the party’s spokesmen concluded that the governor ‘completely lost decorum’.
“We have observed that Fayose’s public conducts suggest that he has a disease of the mind and mental crisis that need a great assay of science and spiritual intervention to save him before he becomes dangerous to the society.”
“His thoughts and emotions have been so impaired that he has completely lost decorum and conduct expected of a man that can safely live in peace with other people in a sane society where the law works,” they said.
Further in its statement, the spokesmen listed instances where Fayose had displayed questionable conducts.
“The governor went to the House of Assembly with the gavel to conduct a voice vote to pass the 2016 budget.
“He sits on the road median treating official files and goes to the market personally carting away traders’ tables and chairs, including their wares.
“The last was his embarrassing and illegal communication with the Chinese authority urging President XI Jinping to refuse financial assistance to Nigeria to enable the country address her economic challenges.
“Also in China, he mounted a rostrum at a train station addressing travellers in tattered clothings and posted his photograph on the Internet, claiming that he was addressing investors in China even when there was no federal government’s approval that he ought to seek before a state can embark on such diplomatic trip.
“Besides, Fayose’s intervention on the nation’s appropriation matter is an exclusive function of the National Assembly,” the statement read in part.
The spokesmen concluded that Fayose needed help and urged the Yoruba monarchs to pray for the governor to save him from self-destruction.
“Governor Fayose is one of our sons. He needs help. We want him to succeed as an individual and as the governor of Ekiti state (The Land of Honour). Therefore, we cannot continue to watch him drag the revered name of Yoruba in the mud in the name of government’s criticism. He’s gradually stepping beyond his bounds.
“This is the essence of our appeal to all Yoruba Obas and religious leaders to pray fervently for and on behalf of Fayose to regain his senses because, an injury to one, we believe is an injury to all,” they said.
In a swift reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) issued a statement by its state publicity secretary, Jackson Adebayo, Vanguard reports.
“We in PDP believe that any serious party publicity officer should be image maker not using foul language on opponent unlike these nincompoops calling themselves image makers.
“As far as we are concerned, Governor Fayose is doing what any right thinking person with love of Nigeria at heart should do,” the spokesman said. According to the party, it is embarrassing and laughable for the APC’s publicity secretaries “to turn themselves to quack doctors and voodoo analysts on the governor of Ekiti state in determining his heath status even at the risk of committing great level of libel and slander". |
Politics › Protesters Besiege Obasanjo’s House In Abeokuta by lakezone67(op): 8:08am On Apr 20, 2016 |
Hundreds of indigenes and residents of
Sango-Ijoko in Ado-Odo/Ota local
government area of Ogun State yesterday,
April 19 besieged the hilltop mansion of
former president Olusegun Obasanjo in
Abeokuta in protest to what they called
‘boundary anomaly’ of the proposed Sango-
Ijoko Local Council Development Area
(LCDA) in the state.
According to leadership, the aggrieved
protesters bearing placards with various
inscriptions, called on the former president
to save them from what they described as
unjust boundary adjustment.
The group, led by Chief Aderemi Quadri
and Chief Idowu Olaniyi expressed concern
over the proposed creation of 37 LCDAs out
of the existing 20 local government areas
by the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led
administration which they claim will merge
their communities that of Ota.
The group however submitted a petition at
the residence of the former president for
“necessary action because he was not at
home at the time.
They then moved to the State House of
Assembly, and called on lawmakers not to
allow the ceding of some of their
communities to another LCDA.
According to them, the impending
arrangement will deprive Sango of its
garage, market, primary and secondary
schools and only health centre.
“Our primary purpose of coming here is to
press forward our agitation that our
community should not be separated or
divided. We are hearing as a matter of
rumour that part of our community will be
merged with Ota and basically these areas,
Araromi, Ketere and others are the core
settlers of Sango,” the group told the
House.
At the House of Assembly complex, the
Speaker, Suraj Adekunbi, promised that the
legislature would look into their agitation
and their petition. |

FlirtyKaren: How Olamide Prostrated Before Don Jazzy After Aliko Dangote Made Them End Beef
Nigerians were shocked 3 days ago when Olamide and Don Jazzy had a big fallout at the Headies 2015 while on Live International TV, and the fight spilled over to Twitter and made a bloody mess.
Fast forward to two days later, a huger, bigger surprise lay in wait. The two super icons at the same time on Instagram and Twitter, released a photo along with a statement that said they had reconciled.
Their fans and colleagues were excited but if you re among those who have been wondering how this reconciliation happened, I've got the gist for you. It's EXCLUSIVE to Laila's Blog and you can take it to the bank, thanks to a very credit worthy friend who witnessed it all.
Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote was the brain behind the reconciliation. No, Vic O wasn't involved either.
I'm told that the picture we all saw of Olamide & Don Jazzy shaking hands was taken at Aliko's place. Aliko Dangote stepped in for there to be peace. I'm also told that Olamide prostrated himself for Jazzy. Yes, my guy was shocked too when Olamide did that. All thanks to Dangote.
I'm told Jazzy has been angry since the incident happened, infact he wasn't even talking to people. He was angry especially because Olamide did something similar last year when Reekado Banks got the Headies 2014 Rookie award.
If you recall, the undisputed street King went on stage to receive his award at the 2014 Headies and while giving his speech for the “Best Rap Album of the year ”, he clearly stated his displeasure for the omission of his Label mate and protege “Lil Kesh” in the Rookie of the year Category, the category which was won by Mavin’s Reekado Banks.
Olamide took the mic said some stuff in Yoruba and then added “I dedicate this award to my nigga “Lil Kesh” for the Rookie of the year , Bleep that sh*t'' and then returned the mic.
Fast forward to 2015, my source says everybody that was sitting next to Jazzy was sad Olamide did what he did. I hope you know Olamide and Tiwa did a song together on her recent album plus Teebillz, Tiwa's husband, I'm told, really loves and respects Olamide. I'm told the video of the song has not been finished sef, Olamide's part has not been done sef.
People were not just happy that Olamide conducted himself in such a manner. That was why Jazzy said all he said on the podium. He had been pushed to the wall.
Olamide, you all already know, destroyed things back in Headies' green room. I'm now exclusively told he also punched someone.
Anyways... Dangote called Jazzy, got Olamide's number from him and then he called both parties to his house for the settlement.
And, EVERYONE is cool now sha.
My source says Reekadobanks will release a new single this January. His label did not expect to win Headies' Next Rated.
