It was indeed a great celebration for the people of Njikoka/Anaocha/Dunukofia Federal Constituency in Anambra state, as Hon. Dozie Nwankwo (Onye Ndozi) finally receives his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commision in Abuja yesterday. The APGA candidate and grassroot mobilizer, has earlier appealed the ruling of the tribunal which upheld the election of PDP's Candidate, Hon. Valentine Ayika.

This presentation of the certificate of Return to Hon. Dozie of APGA came few days after the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Enugu, sacked Hon. Valentine as the Member Representing Njikoka/Anaocha/Dunukofia Federal constituency and immediately ordered INEC to issue the Certificate of Return to the APGA Candidate, who was truely and credibly elected by the people.

Hon. Dozie Nwankwo has continuously received an outpour of congratulatory messages and goodwill prayers from people of Njikoka/Anaocha/Dunukofia federal constituency in Anambra state. The young and committed astute politician and erudite leader received the Certificate amidst cheers from friends, family members, party members and supporter from his constituency. He will be sworn-in at the national assembly by the Speaker of the house in the coming days.

In celebrating his victory, the President of the reknowned Peace Ambassador Agency, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe has joined Nigerians and well meaning people of Njikoka/Anaocha/Dunukofia federal constituency to congratulate Hon. Dozie on his well-deserved victory.

In the words of Amb. Kingsley, he says, "the truth cannot be swept under the carpet, surely justice will eventually take it place. I am so happy and much elated to be part of the team that stood firmly and confidently as the mandate of Hon. A Russian passenger plane has crashed after leaving Moscow's Domodedovo airport with 71 people on board.

The Saratov Airlines jet vanished minutes after take-off and crashed near the village of Argunovo, about 80km (50 miles) south-east of Moscow.

All those on board are thought to have died, officials told Russian media.

The Antonov An-148 was en route to the city of Orsk in the Urals, near the border with Kazakhstan. It crashed early in the afternoon local time.

Flight-tracking site Flightradar24 tweets that the aircraft was descending at 1,000m (3,300ft) per minute five minutes after taking off.

Pictures from the site show pieces of wreckage in a snow-covered field. Tass news agency quotes an official as saying bodies were found nearby.

Those on board included 65 passengers and six crew. President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to the victims' families and announced an investigation into the cause of the crash.

Russia's gazeta.ru website quotes unnamed investigators as saying the pilot had reported a malfunction and requested clearance for an emergency landing.

All 65 passengers were from Orenburg, the Russian region to which the plane was flying, a spokesman for the regional governor told Interfax news agency.

There were no commercial passenger jet crashes last year, making it the safest on record for air travel.

How good is Russia's flight safety record?
Russian airlines have suffered two major plane crashes in recent years:

A Tu-154 military airliner crashed into the Black Sea with the loss of all 92 people aboard on 25 December 2016, with the disaster blamed on pilot error

A Russian Airbus A321 carrying tourists crashed in Sinai, Egypt, with the loss of all 224 people aboard on 31 October 2015; the Islamic State group said it had placed a bomb aboard

What do we know about Saratov Airlines?
Saratov Airlines is based in Saratov, 840km south-east of Moscow.

In 2015 it was banned from operating international flights when surprise inspectors found someone other than the flight crew was in the cockpit.

The airline appealed against the ban and changed its policy before resuming international charter flights in 2016.

It flies mainly between Russian cities but also has destinations in Armenia and Georgia.

Adeleke, has secured the release of
about 200 inmates of the Ilesa Prison
in Osun State .

The Vice - Chairman of the foundation ,
Mr. Banji Adesuyi , said this at the
Ilesa Prison on Tuesday when the
group was donating 700 mattresses
and the same number of pillows to the
inmates .

Adesuyi said Adeleke became aware
that inmates of the prison were
sleeping on the bare floor when he
went to pay a visit to an embattled
chieftain of the All Progressives
Congress, Alhaji Diekola Oyedele , who
was detained at the prison .

He explained that the foundation paid
for the release of inmates , who were
incarcerated because they could not
pay fines as low as N 5 ,000 , stressing
that the foundation did not secure the
release of any inmate convicted
because of crime .

Adesuyi said Adeleke was not
prompted to secure the release of the
inmates because of political reason but
purely on humanitarian ground .

According to him, the foundation will
not limit the gesture to Ilesa Prison ,
stating that it will soon extend the
same gesture to Ile - Ife Prison before
moving outside the state.

The foundation ’s chairman said that
the organisation would ensure that
inmates were introduced to computer
literacy, tailoring and woodwork in
order to make them useful members
of the society even after completing
their jail terms.

Adesuyi said , “ Dr. Deji Adeleke paid
for the release of over 200 inmates last
week when he came to visit a
prominent politician, who was
detained at the prison .

“ A woman was detained with her baby
because she could not pay a debt of
N65 , 000 , he ( Adeleke ) paid the debt,
the woman was released and he also
gave her another N 100 ,000 to start
another trade . ”

The Managing Director of the
foundation , Samuel Oyalabu , said
Adeleke’s gesture should spur other
Nigerians to do the little they could to
alleviate the suffering of the poor.

One of the inmates , Ekene
Madunagwu , who spoke on behalf of
his colleagues , expressed appreciation
to Adeleke , saying he had not seen
anybody demonstrate the kind of
gesture shown by the businessman.
