sunboy4000: Please any advice for a person who has an Msc in Environmental Engineering, but has 5yrs Banking experience and NO experience in my field of study. Experience can substitute for qualification in some cases but it all depends on your assessing body requirements. First things first; What is your passion? Banking or engineering Secondly if say your forte is banking, do u have any formal training, professional qualifications; AACA,ICAN et'al.? You need to decide what you want then ppl in the chosen field can advise you accordingly. |

To peeps who have a degree and not sure of which occupation best suites there needs; first of go through the MLTSSL and combined occupation list,if your occupation isn't there, try to look at the occupation closely related to your field on the list, get the Job description from anzsco search and see if your course modules or job functions tally. E.g graduate in Bsc. Political sciences but work in HR department: job title maintenance contract officer. This is not on any list but hr officer, clerk, recruitment consultant are on the combined list with JD similar to the Mtce contract officer duties. Then the applicant can go ahead with any of these options, may not be able to claim points for degree if there is no module in the transcript that suggest clerical or admin skills but would definitely get positive assessment with years of expirence. Also 20 points English test may be a booster. This is mainly my opinion. |

chuglothen: Hello house, I am the primary applicant. The dependants are my hubby and a kid. Must my hubby show priif of English? I am not submitting any certificate for him? If yes, is there anyway ouy except English test The primary applicant needs to submit English test results to claim points, however your dependant 18yrs and above can show proof of English with a letter from his degree awarding institution, stating all courses were taught in English, else he would need to submit IELTS results as well. |

SegunWamiri: BTW, jimcollins recently got positive assessment for CSM. I am also getting prepared for assessment, spouse being PA You line manager can write you a reference cos he supervises you directly, however he should indicate your head hunter's name in his writ, this would suffice in my opinion from personal experience. However your agency / head hunter can write additionally, including you line supols contact. That's what I used for dibp. |

It is an undeniable logic that regardless of how easier or interactive you make the user interface of this forum or a newer one; peeps who lack the motivation or are lazy would still fall short. I searched for Australia PR inquiries on the web and nairaland happens to be among the first search returns I get along side expat forum. It is purposeful to mention that I started this SC189 parol late 2012 but after skills assessment I pulled out because I didn't want to leave my comfort zone and scared of investing so much in it, until recently when naira value has dropped considerably. My point being our passion and strong will would be key in achieving our goal, regardless of the info constraints as such I support the idea of keeping both the regular forum in addition to the new site. |

sofi05: Can I have a response to this concern of mine? I'll really appreciate. Thanks. Just keep calm; it is called the waiting game for a reason at least in my own words. But have no doubt your grant is near. Nigerian applicants get finalized results within a range of 54-120 days. However if you have done the needful and your application takes beyond 120 days, you may give them a call but expect the usual response. |

ItsYourFriend: Hi @lalooz, congratulations on your grant. I have an observation though, the initial entry date is next May, why is that? Were u the one that chose May 2018 as your entry date or they decided that for you? If they did, me think it's far, but they know better. IED is usually 1 yr from the day PCC or medicals was done.or whichever comes first most times. however; my PCC was March 21st while medicals was May 4th. But should the two documents expire before decision is made ; DIBP may give 6months after visa grant as IED. Saw a scenario like that on expat forum. *** on expat forum an applicant was given one month after grant as IED; he wrote to GSM brisbane and this was waived for him, no IED given(Adelaide team received his application, while Brisbane team issued his grant). @Jukeblam: you are on point. |

Eeee no mater wherether your occupation dey for SOL abi CSOL,but now the confusion Don plenty oooh Some talk say MLTSSL na for 189 and 489 while STSSL na for 190.
Please, @ bellong,@NNBB2012,@lawland@alphardor and oda people wey sabi wela wela help us put mouth for dis mata STOL is for just SC190 and SC489 according to my understanding, while MLTSSL has broader visa classes including SC189. |

sikiy3: Hello everyone
Please, i did an assistant, I did my skills assessment with Engineers Australia but I got banned for 12 months, for plagiarism, I did write every thing myself and used an online software to check for plagiarism, still was a negative outcome with it. please, any suggestions on what step to take, please. Can I still redo the assessment after the 12-month ban. Thanks a lot The deed has already been done; so brace yourself and plan your next move. Caveat to others yet to cross this hurdle; endeavor to have people you trust professionally and grammar wise to check your write up for you. Plagiarism checkers majorly look for copyrights/ similarities in your work and existing writs or published work, and it also saves your work on its dBASE. You shall overcome if you remain dedicated. |

I have placed a call across to the lady I submitted to and she told me it's in transit but that Lagos people were the ones that didn't make the updates, she went further to reassure me that when it gets to the UK I should get an update. Thanks again. @ Sunvick, why you dey hibernate? Don't worry; had similar issues with DHL when sending documents to Germany late last year.
