Hello my people,i ve been following the information you guys are providing here with keen interest.i have some few questions i would like the house to help me .i have just been given an admission under SVP,my agent is now requesting sponsorship letter, financial statement of account and the company registration of the sponsor.please do i need to supply all these documents considering that i am under SVP?

My second question is about the student visa application form,i once applied for cyprus visa about 7years ago,but the visa was denied...and i m being asked now if i have ever being refused visa in any country before?please my people is there any way they are going to find out if my answer is in negative?

The third question is about my pspt data information,i have once used different date of birth in my expired passport, but the new renewed passport i m using now has my really date of birth which is different from the one on the expired passport.is it going to affect my visa application if i accept that i once had a different DOB ?Thanks all...your answers will be highly appreciated...
*first questions has been treated so many times, the thing is.. you don't need any about financial documents so long u are under SVP, it requires lesser docs but if u av it available I guess is a plus for u..u can check WWW.immmi.gov.au for more info on it
*if I am in ur shoe I don't tink am gonna include Cyprus atuff...I doubt it if they can av such info on their database...if it usa-oz I can still tink they can..
*passport...if this has noting to do wit ur current admmiaion package. and u know u wnt av to bring it to play..me tink just go ahead n use dis new one
my opinions are subjected for corrections

guyz plz help me out here! i am a 3rd class graduate of economics here in naija and i want to study nursing in australia, here are my questions:
1. can i study diploma in nursing with my 1st degree or WASSCE?
2. after the diploma course, do i get to work in d clinics like every other nurse or do i hve to get a degree and masters in nursing
3. is tafe d same with diploma?
thanks in advance
I was in d same shoe wit u before... lemme highlights some key factors for u tho our gurus too can add as well.
*diploma in nursing will leads to enrolled nurse
*bsc will leads to registered nurse, different level of responsibilities but does d same functions
*yes Ielts is a major requirement for admission excpt few schools or for graduate courses
*as for ur olevel...I don't really tink it is a huge barrier for u, and maybe to use ur degree or not I tink this depends on ur age as am concern cos if u are like close to 30 or 30+ I tink u might need it but if otherwise just use other certificate u av...but ur SOP must be convincing enough and test of English,
Shalom bro!

Congrats on your offer, however I believe there is a hidden "trap" with undergraduate SVP programs, the length of undergraduate SVP programs easily blows the financial requirements out the reach of many ordinary students.

Many prospective students easily rush to SVP programs because they want to shy away from the financial requirements of AL3, but this could easily turn around to hunt them.

Don't get me wrong, SVP programs have reduced financial requirements, but in practice the only difference is who checks the applicant's financial capacity, under SVP it is done by the school while AL3 is by DIBP.

For an average SVP undergrad program of 3.5yrs, the total costs for the whole duration of the program; tuition, living expenses, OSHC, travel and other, could easily run into AUD $130K - $140K. With such a huge financial outlay, it would be difficult to get accepted with the usual $40K range financial statement most students have. But of course, this does not apply if the school does not ask for evidence of funds or you have strong financial muscle.

I am saying this cos I have seen prospective two students applications rejected & banned from reapplying to the same schools for two years on this account.
Thank you for d enlightenment, but now most unis are now operating under svp and someone said here that SVP is coming for tafe comes next yr am not too sure abt that tho but the point is...most undergraduate comes wit SVP except few schools in oz am stand to be corrected and I don't tink anyone has right to change d status if the school is under SVP for her students. svp or not d tuition fee is alws above 10$k for uni courses so i dont see y anyone wnt go for svp except tafe wit low tuition fee .my question was not abt SVP or financial issues...
am just trying to seek knowledge about life, study n jobs in Adelaide. u are big boss here tanks bro!

It's better you call GTBank's corporate customer care line (you can get that on their website) and express your complaint strongly to them. I've experienced similar case back in May, but it took up to 4 weeks to get the money anyway.

Besides, I have observed that some of these guys who works at the branches don't even understand or know what they are suppose to do or say to customers!
thanks bro, my concern is that we sent a copy of my telex to the GT HQ in Lagos I tink and we got a response whc stated that 'no fund available' my branch customer here was confuse cos he is seeing ball the evidence that d money was sent I.e telex copy of the transaction. how did u resolve ur own n how much was it then, and whc bank...pls I need help oooooooo

this issue is not so conplicated, most times its fron the the sender,he should go to the branch of BOA and find out why its not reflected yet if there are issues the will let him know, besides in your branch in Ibadan let them see the telex copy and as well trace whats wrong.Dont worry your money is safe
they told him from BOA that it is my home country bank whc is GT bank that is delaying the transaction. I tot they seize the money because is above individual transaction whc is 10k$ but know they don't even have the inflow with them. I just don't know who or where to turn to.....yes Gt has the copy of the telex whc we sent to their foreign currency transfer HQ.

[quote author=iykepromotions post=26989491]go to the customer care department of your branch and re check whether you sent the correct acc number and forein code. also check if your account never enter domant. if so, it will bounce back to them. keep calm, your money is safe[/quote
I still withdraw some money from the Acc, beside thisbis not the first the sender us making use of the Acc and more so the account details is correspond withe telex copy, I just don't know what keep d money as hostage.

Good day fellow Nlanders,
for the past 2-3weeks someone paid 15k$ into my Dom account I send me the receipt from bank of America, up til now I av not received the alert regards the inflow.I do use the account regularly..however, the customer care in my domain branch av reached their foreign fund transfer and they keep saying 'no fund for the account' and yet am looking at the telex copy which stated the telex nos , amount, bank name, account name etc....the sender also complained in usa and he was told that the money had been sent.
pls what else can I do cos the owner seems to be thinking otherwise, pls anyone in my shoes before pls come to my aid.... the bank is Gtbank in Ibadan here. thanks

If you have a back up you will be fine. The only time you will get enough time to work is on school holidays. Which is usually a month mid year and 3 months end of the year so saving up to that amount is no joke.

Some higher education program is unlimited working hours.
me that is coming for health science or nursing..... fear Don dey catch me here o.

How much is your tuition? Let's say 7k

How can you work and save up to cover your fee in just a little over 3 months with 20 hours a week job, Accomodation, transportation fare and feeding? Have you ever considered the possibility of not getting a job here months after you arrive? Do you know some employers insist on Australian professional referees? How is that possible for someone who hasn't worked in Australia? Do you guys think of the negatives or only the positive

I'm talking about people being logical here AND I AM ALSO TALKING ABOUT DOING SOME RESEARCH ON YOUR OWN INSTEAD OF RELYING ON WHAT PEOPLE SAY.

tank you for your sincerity over time here...am glad for all your concerns n contributions, everybody now your hear o, plan to av backup at home.

If you were a permanent resident then you can work enough to save up your fees but as an international student you are allowed only 20hohrs a week when school is in session and unlimited when school is on holidays but Australia is not America where people 200 dollar a month for rent. We pay weekly and it is very expensive. Imagine paying 170dollars per week Accomodation and that is shared Accomodation off camp...now if you decide to live in a hostel some schools charge nothing less than 150 per week some even more. Then we have feeding and transportation to work. You go to school Monday-Friday. If you think you can make it good luck but I am telling you that without a sponsor it is almost impossible. A Zambian student in Murdoch university Perth was sent back home because she couldn't afford to pay up her fees and she used a sponsors bank statements but the sponsor wasn't willing to help financially but agreed that she could use his bank statements. Some people are denied visa sef if they think you do not have enough to cover for your duration in Australia.

Australia is expensive to live in and if you have no sponsor willing to help you meet up your target...you are lost.
Thank God u are getting back to us here gradually....
buy seems this post is a bit confusing to me becos av read most of peoples comment concern ability to work n pay tuition fee but here u are saying sometin else. the fact is most of Nigerians here will only struggle to raise d first semester payment..only few people will have someone back home who can still be sending money to him or her.....if it isn't feasible to work n pay. then I think oz is not about what we are hearing. oz applicant too ma.

You don't have to, however you need to apply for another visa to continue to stay in Australia legally even though you may have been granted a visa for the whole length of your program.

The degree awarding institution will give a time frame within which the offer is valid, if you are still interested in the degree component after this timeframe, you will need to apply and be assessed like every other applicant.
thank you bro for this info. pls can u give me info for all d required docs for SVP when applying for visa.

Does he own the account personally or he also knows someone who knows someone who owns the account?, DIBP would definitely reach your said sponsor to verify some details and any misleading/ contradicting information might result in not only a rejection but also a ban. I'm not trying to discourage you as I'm also a prospective AL3 applicant but I definitely won't approach an agent for stuffs like that. You know better than most of them trust me!
.
my bro is d one sponsoring me....d same mother n father, he is doing his post grad prg in USA. he is ready to supply me everything needed. but his Acc might not up to d required bal we are talking of and beside there must be a minimum to whc d Acc can go down. so we are now tinking of upgrading naija Acc to match up tho is gonna be tru d help of banker (agent). but if verify d amount might not be there tho d Acc will be d same name and Acc Nos. hope am more cleared.

From experience with other embassies, if your brother wants to help, he could give you the statement, but has to include some other documents like birth certificate, payslips, utility bill, pictures of you both, maybe his passport biodata page and a letter of intent on why he's sponsoring you.....there may be additional docs, I'll update if I think of any.

I dont know if OZ has any specific rules regarding this [/quote
thanks for d responses....he has no pro for giving me his Acc statement. d fear is he might not have up to a certain amount. I tink I might need notin less than 50,000$. and d Acc must be flowing and not below that . he is a post grad student but working n get good pay. to get birth certificate n bio data and sponsorship letter are simple as ABC. but I don't know that of picture. but I av millions of it anyway. that's y we tinking of getting d Acc from d agent. Lord help me to cross this huddles.

Under what assessment level are you applying? Be careful with questionable Bank statements and some unscrupulous agents promising you accounts or whatever, they'd ruin your credibility.

I bet if the foreign account is in your name, it shouldn't be an issue and secondly , on several occasions have people been advised not to submit questionable bank statements for the pr stuff

although, if you are going for a student visa, and you want to use someone else's account statement, that is an entirely different case
it is a students visa...and I av an immediate blood bro who want to sponsors me. so am contemplating as whc Acc to use, foreign or local. but the local Acc can only be done by a banker who has been doing for people, tho most of them are usa visa application whc doesn't require much verification except sight seeing. and he said no pro for oz too . that's y I will like to know the extent the oz consular verify d Acc. only brigade for me to cross....(tafe course)

Agents are not the ones doing it, it is the school (University now) that do all those things you are asking for. All what you need is check for the schools under the SVP program and apply. Besides, you still need to submit a bank statement, to make the school sure of your capability to pay your tuition and cater for yourself in Oz, and pay the first semester fee before they give you the CoE.
will the same bank statement also be use for visa application?

The easiest way to get accommodation as a newcomer is to try shared accommodation or backpackers logde. You could look for share accommodation on www.flatmates.com.au or www.gumtree.com.au
as a future studend in oz.. I check flatmates, I realized most of d charges are between 150-200 might be less or bit higher.
my question is can one still share such room or apartment wit som1 after been given d room?
thanks.

Congrats on the IELTS result. Documents' certification is easy and straightforward, make photocopies of the documents you would like to certify and take them to any high court (I'm more familiar with this). Do not forget to take along the originals too as it would be required for sighting.
