@landis, Did you read the following statement that I made in my first post: "While this reason may not be tenable for academic purposes, I kind of believe there is some truth to the story." Abuja became the seat of power in 1977?
There is no truth to it. It is only a wishful thinking. Yep. Abuja became legal seat of power in 1977 when it was created. IBB only physical moved in 1990. |
Seun:If Nigeria is Serious: This guy should spent 8months if well behaved, he should be release. We should assembly them to work behind enemy lines in Dafur/Afghanistan/Iraqi etc UK populated Austrialia with thier criminals!!! ![]() |
@landis, Are circumstancial evidences ignored in a court of law?
It not cannot be used by a serious competent court of law to jail anyone. anyway, we are not in law-court. Just that we should erase the notion IBB moved seat of Power to Abuja because of Coup or Power consolidation is idle talk. Which ever leader that would have done it would be accused of same. The fact on ground was Abuja was created in 1977 and it became seat of power from that moment. |
Backslider:I don't need 5billion. This plant cost $2mil. Infrastructure another $2mil. Total $5mil. It is 10MW. I will deliver in 2yrs. Each state can build atleast their own plants. We would not be in this very sorry state. Govt should stop deceiving Nigerians. It is not a rocket science.

You guys should learn to read between the lines. ”So, if there is a level of infrastructure available somewhere, it does not have to be in America, it could be any other country. But now the Americans have offered what they have been offering us but they have said ‘let us make it more administratively tidy‘ rather than getting this support from Europe.”take each statement as below: So, if there is a level of infrastructure available somewhere, it does not have to be in America, it could be any other country. what is infrastructure here? simple Military Base or Baracks. And he said further it can be in any country. But now the Americans have offered what they have been offering us what has US being offering? Military Base/command/barracks in Africa. but they have said ‘let us make it more administratively tidy‘ rather than getting this support from Europe.” means: AFRICOM should not be in Europe but Nigeria. Since the subject here is a Nigeria foreigner Minister. He can only speak for Nigeria and not Ghana, Liberia or South Africa. |
Shocking!!! This is too hash for a first-time offender and for an 'ATTEMPT TO DEFRUAD' So how much will they give OBJ that defrauded Nigerians of $16Bill or Soludo that defrauded us of $17bill. what a country, ![]() |
@landis, Is anybody contesting this with you? At least no one has said here that it was not his brain child. However, why the rush by IBB which happens to have been accelerated after the coup? What role did the coup and possibly his desire to hold on to power have play with respect to the move? That is what we need to consider.
That's circumstancial. It does not hold. Abuja was created in 1977 legally. Shagari actually built Aguda house in 1983 in Abuja. IBB relocated to Abuja in 1990, this is clearly 13yrs after. Nothing to do with his consolidation on power or Okhar Coup. NOTE: I am no FAN of IBB. I just set the record straight. |
Tonim:Let it be as BIG as possible. It is being RUN on generator. That much I can confirm. Sad. |
abracadabra ![]() President Yar'Adua said he is reluctant to declare a state of emergency as promised during his electioneering campaign on two grounds: First, is the non-existent law to back up the much-expected declaration of emergency in the power sector. And second, is "the fact that Nigeria has sold all its gas for export". This is ridiculous to say the least. |
nuzo:No smoke without a fire. for every action, there is a reaction. ![]() |
bilymuse:This has nothing to do with Nigerian Army but US and Yara-ill with their agenda. If US really cares, they should establish universities, grant scholarship, IT villages. They should give their companies taxe-holiday to come Nigeria. |
Stop spreading FAKE news. These pictures are from columbia drug baron that was arrested. It has been around since 2006. In the original pictures, the drug barons were included in the pictures, plus the Police that arrested them. |
Absolute rubbish. Abuja was created by Murtala through its committee which include Aguda + Tai Solarin. It has nothing to do with IBB The main reason was: 1. decongest lagos 2. central location 3. a place where all Nigerians can be at home I know for a fact these reasons were not-well thought through. |
$800mil is nothing for security. I remember clearly that $260mill contract was given to an Isreal company in 2006 to provide drones for Niger-Delta. US complained that it should be open-award since they also want their firms to chop-chop. In recent days, several Israelis arrived in the Nigerian capital of Abuja to staff and develop the offices of Aeronautics Ventures. Maoz Steinhauer stands at the helm of the company, which is listed abroad. Aeronautics Ventures is the operant branch in the largest arms deal ever landed by the Yavneh-based Aeronautics Defense Systems company. A report regarding the $260 million deal appeared in Haaretz about a month ago.http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=721509 |
this is just the begining. The damage done to Nigeria by OBJ & Co will make Abacha smile in his grave and think aloud: I knew what I was doing when I threw that coward into prison ![]() |

interesting post, what about driving from Lagos to Ghana? has anyone done this? what do you need to get from Nigerian Customs/Immigration? what about armed robbers? |
depends: if IT graduate from Nigeria: I will take 6month Visa if other areas, I will take 1mill ![]() |
@superman, I did not make that stupid statement! Madueke did. And i doubt if you live in UK, which you state in your profile. Otherwise, you will know that this Madueke speech is 'idle talk'(quoete Oyi of Oyi) No country in the world will OPEN gates to Nigerians. If our fore-fathers did not demand VISA from Europeans fore-fathers, thats our own fore-fathers problem. Madueke himself knew he must be joking. he stated: "I told them, and I was not joking when I said so |
vigasimple:That was a honest observation about Yara-ill but I disagree with BOLD OBJ tactically accepted US-ARMY Baracks in Nigeria around 2000-2004 I know for a fact they were camped close to ABUJA AIRPORT for about 2yrs. One of the US Army boys even died during some practice and was flown to Germany. They had full access to 'Ship-House'. It was one of the grouses of Malu against OBJ. |
"I told them, and I was not joking when I said so, that when they came to Africa 500 years ago, they did not come in with visas. Since we did not criminalise and demonise those Europeans, they should not criminalise those Nigerians who come to their own countries without visa papers, especially if those Nigerians when they arrive are law abiding and, are doing the kind of work that add value to the European economy.I always knew this Madueke is a JESTER. He has confirmed it! Disgrace to Nigeria; is this clown all we can get as Foreign Minister?? I think it is time to give-up on Nigeria ![]() |
seeu:clever. Abacha did not loot any money, he just paid them to certain places. IBB did not loot any money, he just paid them to certain places OBJ did not loot any money, he just paid them to cerian places ![]() I love Nigeria ![]() |
Lesson: take anything from a Vindictive ex-jailbird with a pinch of salt until it's been corroborated by a neutral and trustworthy source.OBJ was a ex-jailbird. I guess Nigerians know better now! |
Akolawole:LESSON: AMERICA is not your friend. |
Kobojunkie:the specific account belong to AFC and transfer was made Soludo on behalf from CBN. OCC investigators found that the AFC maintains two accounts with the UBA New York Branch and had transferred over $300 million through the UBA New York Branch in November 2007 and March 2008. The UBA declined to report the transactions as suspicious claiming that the AFC accounts were legitimate, a fact that has been denied by the Federal government of Nigeria who already requested help from US authorities to trace the movement of the AFC funds from Charles Soludo’s AFC.--> United States Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Financial Crime Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has suspended the United Bank for Africa, UBA from all wire transfers. The suspension takes effect from March 2008. |
Kobojunkie:if you see the screen attached, UBA was fine $15mil by US-Govt. why did they pay without any questioning? This N1.7billion naira. Nobody pays this amount without questioning unless you know you are guilty and quickly want to settle the matter before it spreads. Sahara reporters broke this before news filter to Nigeria. Soludo is siphoning our money with his Bogus AFC. |
dee02:Good idea but we need to re-cover the loot from them and throw them to prison so not so brillant idea. |
Confirmed Stolen funds: Abacha --> $3bill(all sectors) IBB --> $12Bil(all sectors) OBJ -->$16bil(only 1 sector) pick 'favorite' looter ![]() |
Soludo's AFC criminal activity cost UBA $15mil in FINE. UBA(Elumeu) paid quickly without any questions because they know the can of worms that would open. Only uninformed Nigerians can be deceived. EFCC alone should have picked this case, why Nigerian Bank fined $15mil and they paid without questioning.

Lets just hope that the little this President give would have a positive effect on our beloved Nation. dont come with this. Nigerians are tired of HOPING. OBJ was hoping and after 8yrs, we all know the result. Yara-ill wants people to HOPE for another 8yrs That's 16yrs together.A kid born in 1999 would have spent 1/4 of his/her without electricity. |
indeed, these are other statements from Yara-ill Nigeria will not be able to generate enough electricity for its population until at least 2015, President Umaru Yar'Adua has said.so he basically needs 8yrs like OBJ to waste more of our time. for those clever, it is time to jump ship called Nigeria! ![]() But three finished gas-fuelled power stations are unable to generate electricity because Nigeria has sold all its gas for export, the president said.that's understatement!! what OBJ got say to this? ![]() The president said the nation's privatisation of the power industry had failed.indeed. and when is OBJ/elrufai going back to prison? "Emergency legislation" will be needed to allow the government to spend some of the billions of dollars in oil revenue it has saved in the central bank on power, he said.well done, and in 2015, Nigeria would have spent $30Bill to buy darkness. The president coughed constantly through the press conference.is Yara-ill serious at all!! A poor liar at best. |
