I can't work under anybody except government. If a job isn't making your life better financially, why stay there?
I worked with a company that told us we shall make it there. But i looked at the manager who has been with the company since inception drinking kunu and jumping on keke to go home from work like us..
Immediately, i counted my teeth with my tongue and left immediately. Now, I'm doing FAR FAR better than those still slaving there.

If a company brings their motivational talks of where you wish to see the company in 20yrs, also ask them where they wish to see you with the company in 20yrs. I once asked that question in a staff meeting and they all kept quiet.
Lmao grin what a comic relief

Handcraft, skills acquisition makes a comeback in Anambra schools' curriculum as Headteachers end 3-day retreat

By Obiageli Nwankwo

The 3-day Academic retreat organized for Headteachers in the state has come to an end with the re-introduction of handcraft and skills acquisition into the curriculum of primary and secondary schools.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh while addressing the headteachers on the final day of the retreat held at Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) Hall, Awka said that the return of handcraft and skills acquisition into the schools’ curriculum will kick off in the next academic session.

The commissioner said that the state would not train pupils who would carry guns to terrorize the state rather, a generation that would contribute positively to the growth of the state by learning skills that would help them become self-reliant after school.

The 3-day retreat organized for Headteachers in the three senatorial zones of the state was held on August 17, 19 and 24.

In his remarks, the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Mr. Ejike Okechukwu assured the Headteachers of better days ahead and commended them for their tenacity and doggedness in educating Anambra State school children.

Giving the vote of thanks, the Assistant Chairman, Association of Primary School Heads of Nigeria, (APSHON), Mrs. Vivian Nwankwo, praised the efforts of the state in organizing the retreat.

She said that the teachers must have learnt a lot and would deploy such when they return to their schools, adding that APSHON would support every step taken by the state to restructure the educational sector.

Obiageli Nwankwo reports from Awka. (MOI)

8 out of every 10 Nigerians caught in Europe or around globe are igbos.
At least 5 out of every 10 Nigerians caught for Cybercrime are Igbos.

Please do not be emotional about this. It's a fact!

Something is fundamentally wrong with Ndigbo's value system.
You’re not wrong. Back in the east there’s no deafening campaign against drug trafficking. The state govts don’t kick and preach against it. I mean this what the leaders of the east should be doing on media...nobody educates young boys of the east on the dangers of drug trafficking. Everyone overlooks it and this is really a stain on the tribe both nationally and internationally. Since the death of that guy called Kelechi which became a talk of the world in 2012 or 13, kelechi was hung in Indonesia after being caught with hard drugs and then he later gave his life to xchrist(according to him)...because he was always singing and playing gospel songs while in prison with his guitar..his death drew a lot of criticism then from some countries and leaders...still some illiterate igbo boys are grooming themselves on how to go push drug in these Asian countries.

I did. My point stands. People marry in Nigeria mostly for kids. So his suggestion will not be adopted by the poor masses. UN projection is that by 2100, Nigeria will be more populated than China.

Nigeria population has also tripled from the 70's, and growing exponentially. We have one of the highest birth rate in the world, which testify to what i said earlier. I repeat, people marry for kids in naija. Companionship is a topping.
Nigeria population will continue to quadruple because poor pple are still giving birth like rats.

The govt keeps looking away from this impending danger...in fact, the danger already lives with us.
Who gave birth to the bandits and other vices?

Youre right, but that's not a good way to look at it. Ungrateful Women will always live amongst us, but why marry such in the first place? Such women should be left for the rich men that deserves them. I hope she finds such a man. At the end, age humbles us all.
Same thing I told him. When he was supposed to be taking courtship very serious, they’ll be busy fornicating 6-6 grin. So how then do they study their partners ? How then do they know who to dump at the right time before together forever? cheesy

Tobaadis:
Hi guys!

Let me share my experience

I got married 8months ago with a monthly income of 110k in a private establishment in XYZ.

My wife works in an FG establishment in KD with a monthly income of 110k but on a compulsory contribution of 30k at her workplace. So she's left with about 63k after every deduction.

However, I managed two accommodations.
XYZ is 140k for a Year
While KD is 200k a year too

Compulsory Cooperative deduction of 10k monthly
A monthly contribution of 50k for 6 months (300k)
Sends 10k to my wife for GOTv sub
and PHCN(Buy power)
I fill gas (12.5kg) once in 3months since she stays alone

So I manage 40k for TP and feeding for the months. Though I got raw foodstuffs from KD.

I just buy a few things to balance the meal. Before I forget cooking is my hubby.

Immediately after we got married we stock the house with foodstuffs worth 100k, aside other foodstuffs received from my family members to push us.

I paid my KD house rent this month from the cooperative. So am left with 100k to use to pay XYZ house which I will still add 40k to balance up.

In all these, my wife agreed to every one of our decisions and said she will be buying a few things to make the food since I come once a month and go back to XYZ.

May God bless every supportive wife.
I’m very sure the FG establishment is the sole reason why u allowed her to stay at KD if not U for don drag her down to your base.
You’re not an igbo man,are you?

Na only my igbo brother go tell him wife to resign from her well paid job and come join him; even if he is soaking Garri morning and night at his base and can hardly feed himself,I lie?

This is what we call trying to survive. Hopefully ,things will improve for you guys.
However, my own issue is that you have to bring in kids when you are already struggling as it is.

Again, how do families survive on 5k a week? Is it not the same market we all go to? Nigerians are really rugged.
U think is every Nigerian that lives in this our Lagos? Lmao

Go to Jos and see cheap food stuff.

With 500 a pot of stew/soup is sure...locations where varieties abound,u tend to spend less.

@op,if wifey can’t do white collar job because of pregnancy wahala. Pls open a small business for her. Let her run a business...if rent is an issue she can start from home or she learns a skill...does she have passion for baking/food business or anything? She can start attending a class from a pro. A perfect method to madness. Pampers will humble you. There was no reason to impregnate your wife at that level of income. in fact, at the present level of inflation, anyone earning 100K and below, should not actually consider marriage except you own farmlands and actually plant food crops.
