If a company brings their motivational talks of where you wish to see the company in 20yrs, also ask them where they wish to see you with the company in 20yrs. I once asked that question in a staff meeting and they all kept quiet.

There are Americans, dutch ,indians, chinese etc all over the world who don't go to their home countries regularly. I once stayed in the guest house of a client in port harcourt and met a mexican man there. He has not been to Mexico in 7 years and has even been kidnapped once in Nigeria. But he no go back because he is earning good as an expat here. So whats the big deal if Nigerians do same What is the point of seeing your families or wife when una dey suffer or facing uncertain future ehn A man who can’t provide for his family wont have a family for long. Less than 5% of Nigerians are outside Nigeria too

It would have been better getting 41k as a teacher but this a government job.

I have B.sc Mass Communication, M.sc Mass Communication but staying for years without a job after NYSC was becoming a burden.
So I got a call that there's an opening but I can only use my O'Level, had to accept the offer rather than staying without any source of income. That was how I got a job using my O'Level.
Been trying for an upgrade but unless u know or have someone up there it's difficult to get an upgrade.

OP, urs is far better. I earn 41k and managing this amount for a month is hell on Earth. But thank for the understanding wife I have.
She's a fashion designer and she supports the house with the little she earns when am down.
It's really hot outside my brother.



Note: I won't stay and not get married Because am earning low, I have to start my life with an understanding woman cuz I don't know when this big money will come yet

My wife work in a food drug manufacturing company as a QA. The distinct drug smell of the company iritates her and makes her to throw up almost every minute.
The moment she enters the company, the throwing up starts and its already showing on her body cos shes beginning to look pale.

It was advised for her to stop.

On a general note, I work in the finance industry... I have some little experience. Am pleading to people with connections, especially in banks. As I hear say plenty staff dey japa from banking industry, that means there will be spaces to fill up as experience hire that start with ABO grade. I did. My point stands. People marry in Nigeria mostly for kids. So his suggestion will not be adopted by the poor masses. UN projection is that by 2100, Nigeria will be more populated than China.

Nigeria population has also tripled from the 70's, and growing exponentially. We have one of the highest birth rate in the world, which testify to what i said earlier. I repeat, people marry for kids in naija. Companionship is a topping.

Youre right, but that's not a good way to look at it. Ungrateful Women will always live amongst us, but why marry such in the first place? Such women should be left for the rich men that deserves them. I hope she finds such a man. At the end, age humbles us all.

Let me share my experience

I got married 8months ago with a monthly income of 110k in a private establishment in XYZ.

My wife works in an FG establishment in KD with a monthly income of 110k but on a compulsory contribution of 30k at her workplace. So she's left with about 63k after every deduction.

However, I managed two accommodations.
XYZ is 140k for a Year
While KD is 200k a year too



Compulsory Cooperative deduction of 10k monthly
A monthly contribution of 50k for 6 months (300k)
Sends 10k to my wife for GOTv sub
and PHCN(Buy power)
I fill gas (12.5kg) once in 3months since she stays alone

So I manage 40k for TP and feeding for the months. Though I got raw foodstuffs from KD.

I just buy a few things to balance the meal. Before I forget cooking is my hubby.

Immediately after we got married we stock the house with foodstuffs worth 100k, aside other foodstuffs received from my family members to push us.

I paid my KD house rent this month from the cooperative. So am left with 100k to use to pay XYZ house which I will still add 40k to balance up.

In all these, my wife agreed to every one of our decisions and said she will be buying a few things to make the food since I come once a month and go back to XYZ.

This is a white man mentality. Kids in Nigeria are a blessing and the sole reason for getting married. If there are no kids, then there is no marriage.

This is what we call trying to survive. Hopefully ,things will improve for you guys.
However, my own issue is that you have to bring in kids when you are already struggling as it is.

Again, how do families survive on 5k a week? Is it not the same market we all go to? Nigerians are really rugged.

A perfect method to madness. Pampers will humble you. There was no reason to impregnate your wife at that level of income. in fact, at the present level of inflation, anyone earning 100K and below, should not actually consider marriage except you own farmlands and actually plant food crops.
