egbaguy: this is a very serious thing oooo..........ali modu sherif's link to BH is understandable, but iheajerika's case is so wacky. Now,my question is;did stephen davis gave diz same report to GEJ? Can we believe BH saying all these? Isnt it a ploy to divert our attention? Is it a ploy to further dampened d morale of fighting soldiers?Divert attention like how? People in power like the Army chief may be motivated by monetary gain and not a a quest for North to wrestle power from Jonathan. And so far we've not heard Buhari's name which which PDP as being shouting is the chief sponsor of Boko-Haram. of course, any sensible human being knows that this is a lie. If the man had mentioned Buhari's name, we would have seen all PDP recruits on Nairaland rush to start commenting or opening threads on the matter. But since once again, the negotiator's revelation is linking Boko-Haram politicisation to PDP yet again, they are all quiet. |
The Australian cannot totally understand Nigerian politics like Nigerians. By emphasising opposition, he can only mean those opposed to Jonathan's second term rule.... .....and these people or politicians are the Northern elements of PDP who believe they had pact in which the North is supposed to rule for 8 years. Who would it benefit, if Jonathan can be forced to abandon his quest for a second term? How does it benefit a Buhari of APC? does that guarantee him being President? Of course not, because somebody else, a Northerner, instead of Jonathan will will the election through the ruling party, PDP. So it is the Northern elements of PDP that are sponsoring Boko-Haram. The fall out that led to the politicisation of Boko-Haram took place in the PDP, a betrayal of a pact that was agreed between the Northern and Southern PDP. So why should the Northern politicians fighting for Jonathan to abdicate his right to contest for a second term through the sponsoring of Boko-Haram not be of the PDP? Why should they instead be of the APC.? This was what General Patrick Azizza was trying to tell us. PDP didn't wan him too because they prefer to put the blame of APC so as to make them unpopular. |

So you wan us to be praising and supporting a government that does not interest of the people at heart at all. Just busy looting left right and center. BBC, CNN or Aljezira is not our problem. Our terrible selfish and thieving leaders is our problem. The day that changes, the news about us will change. Look at the corruption in the Army, upon the trillions that have given to defence in the last two years, no proper equipment for the boys to fight..... the generals are sending the boys on suicide mission while they share all the money meant for defence between themselves. Of course there nothing Oga Jona can do nothing because the army believes" what is good for the goose is good for the gander". The generals are only chopping their own part of the national looting. I sorry for the Nigeria that reelect this administration for four more years and will keep on complaining. |
just reading the further replies and discussion on this thread this evening..... and my perspective is a little changed. It is true, it he who wear the shoes that know where it pinches. Those sum of school fees is really a great burden for the students to bear, expect those that comes from very rich homes. Burdensome fees makes life of students in school lacklustre because after they manage pay the fees, there is barely anything to survive on again. I don't expect students to be grateful to the governor because he's only doing it for his own gain. But they should have tries to employ other ways aside from riot. Then saying 2015 is somehow, because he's attaching the actualisation to his reelection. That is not a gift at all but an ultimatum. |
@adeoladrg, Honestly you have no point at all.....and the poster is right, the Union championing the riot are completely bereft of common sense. The poster have posed valid questions which you refuse to answer: Did the students or the Union fight for the reduction in the first place? The reduction was a gift from the government. We all know the rationale behind the reduction in fees; If you feel the motive behind the reduction is evil or the timing is suspect, why not reject the gift all together? But instead you are saying the gift is not enough. This really is the most senseless riot ever. |
Cityguy: Well friend, am glad you read that my 'bedtime stories' and as you said, it's meant for my 'junior' ones. I therefore assume you are one. What is even the zenith u all are talking about? 'Consultancy'? Is that why you guys want to risk stroke? Ok o, NMA, stop this 'serious struggles' against other professions o. I wish I can ask that you all be 'dashed' consultancy and I hope we'll all relate happily thereafter. I know you are disorderly vexed. Pls, sorry. Anything for peace! You can be sarcastic all you want but that doesn't change historical facts; these things happened; these events took place. The formation of JOHESU just didn't spring out of nothing. It was a defence reaction to the onslaught of doctors against other health professionals over many years. Otherwise it wouldn't even ever have entered their mind. There was a time other health professionals actually looked up to the doctors to provide leadership and lead the way in the fight to for better amenities in the hospitals and better renumeration for health professionals. And they weren't agitating to be equally remunerated with doctors. But the doctors decided to separate and dissociate themselves completely from other health professionals, and soon started working against them. The others felt they needed to come together to defend themselves against a common enemy. |
PHANTOM is a perfect example which portrays the arrogance and superiority complex of doctors towards their other fellow health professionals. |
drobadebayo: I laugh when I hear these guys make so much noise about residency for other health workers.Even the one on ground is not properly funded.the health budget keeps fluctuating between 3-7 percent instead of the >/=15 percent all African leaders agreed to.Do u think this govt is ready to spend all that money on ya'll.Other heath professionals have never claimed equality nor do they seek to be equal with doctors. They only want to occupy their proper place in the scheme of things as it obtains in other climes. But the doctors in Nigeria want all other health professionals subjugated under their feet. Those just coming out of medical school have already being indoctrinated to see other health professionals as their inferior s. These are facts that are true. Any neutral observer who has lived on a teaching hospital campus will stake his life on this. Doctors on this thread and Nairaland are only trying to pretend that that is not the case. But in their hearts they know its the truth. |
Cityguy: Truth be told, this acrimony is global but why we don't see as much strike in other climes is because the general populace served are better informed and take it upon themselves in some ways to ensure they keep their docs at work. In Nigeria, reverse is the case cos of ignorance, PHD syndrome and petty considerations. A Nigerian sees issues through his prism of his family members being in a profession or generalise from his experience with one member of an assumed 'enemy' profession. Unfortunately, he submits biased, tainted and unreasonable views which often than not assume delusional dimension. Maybe we'll get there one day but from what obtains here on NL, that might be centuries away.please stop with the sermon. it is a fact and it is truth that doctors are trying to prevent other professionals from reaching the zenith of their careers. it's not the figment of anyone's time imagination. its not something that started today. its something that Doctors have actively embarked upon since the nineties. Doctors have been putting up serious struggles against the establishment of postgraduate school of other health professionals. So please save the "maybe we will reach there one day" for bedtime stories for your junior ones.. |
Even a f.o.o.l maybe thought to be a wise if he kept his mouth shut. |

Amnesty not needed a the matter.... crimes and wrongs are committed in the US just like any other country, but there are structures and institutions in place and these structures and institutions function very well. The last matter in which a US killed a back guy, the case went to court. The guy was aqquited of first degree murder I think...... In Nigeria, police kill innocent citizens every other month and those cases never see the light of day.....they are swept under the carpet. And that is the fundamental difference. let no one kid themselves, they are way ahead of us and better when it comes to human Rights and respect for the sanctity of life. |
there were right to turn him back.... kudos to Dubai Immigration |
Judah1986: Misplaced priorities. Just think about these: #255million($1.6million) to purchase only TWO bullet proof cars. Missing 50 billion DOLLARSPlease stop twisting things. most of us are in the know that the demands causing deadlock, which government cannot accede to mostly has to do with the non-monetary issues: the demands that the wishes or aims to subjugate your other colleagues in the health sector under your feet. |

@ aztruth thanks for bringing out these ridiculous demands of doctors. funny enough, in all their arguments on this thread or any other related thread, they always go on endlessly about the patient and the state of hospitals. they pretend as Id these their ridiculous demands are nonexistent. still expecting the doctor to give u a reply. they keep on shouting they will go to other countries to practise. what they can't do in those countries, they want to be doing it here in Nigeria. |

Omotola should stop carrying fake news joor twisting things to suit her. The truth is that her husband is very much older than her. At tender age of 16 she got involved with a man that old pass her well well. That man unintentionally impregnated her and she carry belly. This old cargo because he wasn't yet marries anyway at his age, decided what the hell: he want ahead and married her. Think about it: how many girls who grew up in Lagos, comes from a middle class family, intentionally marries at the age of 16 and go on to have a baby almost immediately. Middle class parents don't usually allow their daughters marry at age of 16 unless they are forced to by situation. Think about it; what is the hurry at that age? |
I hope the list would go high as to include Presidents. |
that hardly qualifies as an attempt to seduce. This is not seduce-ment, rather it is harassment. |
careytommy: perhaps, they want someone that has not been familiar with the candidates on ground.since we're in the "perhaps" territory.... .....perhaps they wanted a commissioner that will do the bidding of the PDP; perhaps the replaced Commissioner wasn't playing ball; perhaps he was incorruptible, hence the change..... |
Danhumprey: APC want to play the victim card now. I won't be surprised if this get politicised. The first and most important question you ought to ask is: The related experience of the the TVC correspondent, did the event happen or did it not happen? It seemed like it did. And if it did happen, then let anyone that so wish politicise it. He that does the wrong thing should not cry foul when the aftermath comes. |
