Jobs/Vacancies › Re: A Genius Answer To A Moral/Ethical Dilemma Asked In A Job Interview by Lanretoye(m): 3:59pm On May 04, 2015 |
unyours: I decide to share this because i believe it will help someone someday.
Whenever we come through ethical dilemma, the chance is that everyone will choose the part that leads to the least harm. Most times, it's a function of ones ability to think [intelligently] outside the box.
Now here's a moral dilemma meant to be solved by 200 applicants in a job interview. You will be marveled when you see the answer the only successful candidate gave. Many wouldn't have reasoned in that line.
You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night. You pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man (or woman) you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
Think before you continue reading. _____________________________
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.
You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. I love this. I might actually use it sometime for an interview situation.
He simply answered: “I would give the car keys to my old friend, and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the woman of my dreams.”
Never forget to “Think Outside of the Box.” ____________________________________ My 50kobo advice to all jobseekers: Avoid giving a straight-up answer to interview questions no matter how straight-to-the-point the question is. Always have something to add to spice up your answers and be straight to the point as you do so. Expect all kind of useless questions. Lol. The interview that landed me my job was an interview i got most of what i will call off-point questions like: Are you married? What tribe will you like to marry from? Can you speak Yoruba language? What's your username on nairaland? (I shock!)
Wish you all goodluck
Reference: Here Bros that your response get K leg... If i were the interviewer, u have failed with that response.let's say there was no option to choose from then you can go ahead and answer in any best way you feel but since you were given options to choose from, you have to choose one or none instead of twisting. For me i would choose my dream girl because she in this case represent a goal i had set to achieve and i need not stop at anything in order to make it. it simply defines you as a goal getter and that's what employers need. |

Ochiske: Not quite long ago, Etisalat shocked Nigerians by introducing a 2GB plan for N2000. Code is *229*2*8#
Now, they've also introduced a new cheaper plan. 1GB for N1000. Code is *229*2*7#
SME data sellers are gonna hate this new plan coz it is way cheaper than their N1500 for 1GB OP are u okay?,say Etisalat shock you and not Nigerians. |

However, with PDP being a regional party now, what happens to this edifice, the National Headquarters of the party? Would it be abandoned, just like Other projects in Nigeria? IOsB: While you Tinubu takes yourself unserious baa??
Meanwhile.... In response to Buhari banning AIT,
Behind that lame excuse, everyone knows that the sole reason why AIT was targeted was because of the stinkers they ran on Buhari and some key APC supporters during the build-up to the elections. Now,you see why some of us were critical about the person of Buhari and his ideals especially matters that have to do with the protection of human rights. It is trite that one of the fundamental rights as enshrined in our law is the freedom of the press, the wise law does not leave the citizen helpless to the fangs of the press as they are given the right to take legal actions against the press if they feel that their rights have been violated by the press. As a converted democrat, one would have expected Buhari to sue AIT for libel if he felt that they were spreading lies against his person, the onus will then be on AIT to prove the truthfulness of their publications. However,Buhari as we had suspected have decided to take laws into his hands and be the judge in his own case,an attitude that have been condemned by our Courts in a long line of cases (See for instance, the case of Ojukwu v. Gov. of Lagos State). It is on record that under GEJ,so many news outlets were churning out stinker both filled with truths and blatant lies. Top on the list was Sahara Reporters(the perfect example of yellow journalism),Pun ch,Nation,TVC and so on,but never for one day did he use his presidential might on them. Buhari should take a cue from GEJ and come to terms that we are now under democracy and cannot be drawn back to the dark days of dictatorship. My only concern is that our so-called civil society activists have suddenly gone mute and more saddening is the fact that some have even lauded this act. I just pray they do not play double standards and should exert the same amount of energy they directed towards bringing down GEJ and turn it on Buhari's adminstration in order to keep the man on his toes. So if i wan do wedding now and i say i no want AIT make he cover am,dem dey holl person for that one?. Is bias-ism part of the ethics of media practice?,since AIT has chosen to be partisan against the principle of objectivity, fairness and reliability then she should be able to bear the stand of opposition. ChannelsTV Oga patapata played a very vital and professional role during the pre and post election period,TVC/LTV its your time...AIT should retire to Ekiti state. |
