All ‎cargo flights have been suspended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria , FAAN, said on Friday.

FAAN advised operators of all cargo flights to find alternative entry points for their cargo from today, said Yakubu Dati, the agency’s spokesperson.

FAAN said it has already advised the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency to issue a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to this effect.

“This has become imperative due to the congestion created by the backlog of cargo created following the two-week closure of the terminal by the Nigerian Customs Service.

“The Authority has initiated measures to accelerate the clearance of these goods and return the situation to normalcy. Airlines and importers are advised to make use of alternative airports,” Dati said.

He said ‎FAAN is constrained to take this measure at this time for the safety and security of all concerned.

The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, and the clearing and ‎forwarding agents have been st loggerheads for months over what the latter described as the collection of illegal charges from the by the NCS.

This will definitely affect 22nd shipment, and one of the reasons why there is delay, not chinos fault but the fault of our system here in Nigeria .

Really, will b nice, to b sincere Mr Chino is trying, working round the clock, some company mailing to inform customers cargo airlift from US has been banned, pending clearing of backlog, but chinos last shipment on 15th still made it..just for our custom issues here...convinced my customers too, but most are not worried as I already explained how things are during festive periods like this, and also most are my own purchases for resell only are few I collect customers funds to buy. Let's all hope saturday as they have said or latest monday.

NAHCO finally working on my cargo so, they should be coming out soon. Will update.

TSA cargo search was due to perfumes and single laptop batteries, removed all, repackaged and shipped along with my shipment. Office visit was to make sure I have proper documentation and also to review air waybills. They also advised how to safely run my business.

A pallet of items worth over $50k was delivered to my warehouse, no name on document, owner never called just emails for me to ship asap. Suspected this delivery and refused to ship. 10 days later phone calls from FBI so, I quickly coordinated with FBI and the pallet was returned to the original owner/supplier.

My naija peeps are here again, Mr Chino's you acted and did the right thing, delaying the pallet rather than shipping suspicious items... Mr chino your insight shows you handled the matter professionally. Keep it up, also make a caveat in your front page that suspicious items will not be shipped and they would be handed over to FBI for investigations. Nice one keep it up.

Sorry for the delays, my clearing agent is doing his best to get my shipment out. Clearing agents are now restricted from NAHCO warehouse and with NAHCO limited staff all clearing activities are sluggish. Congestion is also adding to all the delays. I have 12 pallets of cargo awaiting clearance, they will all be cleared eventually. This month has been a stressful one, NAHCO strike, TSA cargo search/office visit and FBI investigations. It will all be well.

Mr Chino FBI investigations, anyways its all for good, if Nahco can speed up believe things should get much better, Mr Chino's know u trying your best and still fastest, nahco or not nahco keep up the good work and I saw an improvement in your lagos branch, just mentioned my invoice no and payment confirmed, items received, fast and efficient. Keep it up, God on your side you will prevail.

Rightly communicated bro...started importing 3yrs plus ago, it's being rosy , though had my challenges, with the help of fellow importers on NL I surmounted them, so happy have tutored people and they are all succeeding, in importing never assume u know all, even the gurus are still learning..also you need identify your own target market, never rely on stories of other people, make your own story.

Does he need all dis? The houses. He borrowed money to build, will he use Nigeria's money to repay? He should look for the campaign strategies to use,this strategy he is starting with is not sellable.

Tumababa dnt get worried, though I noticed my package was opened..probably by customs , but nothing was missing though..bro no fear..seems chinos agent is fully monitoring items no one has had a case of missing items.

Mr chinos received my invoice for dec 15th shipment, settled for dec 1st and 8th. In excess of 500 naira, so going to deduct that from the present invoice. Got response already, thumbs up Mr Chino, keep it up

Received by Nov17 package today...didn't meet Ndidi there though met another guy, seem they are getting automated now, he just requested my invoice and cross checked their records, then handed over my package to me. hope same process goes for Dec 1st and 8th, cos settled the bills, yet to hear from Mr Chino's. All d same still the best so far..know he has his own flaws too...but at least he is trying his best.
