I don't do this but I had to quote this comment. 1. He said he's a hair dresser now tell me how he can work in a salon when men r not even allowed in female salons.(dubai is an Islamic country) 2.how can he even run diploma programme when he would be working atleast 9hours a day(he's even lucky to get such) 3.everything in dubai is fvcking expensive don't even try. My advice. Dubai visa is quite easy to secure n cheap aswell n there r jobs in dubai but securing one isn't that easy. slimup: Traveling to Dubai will be easier and it will cost less for u. Here also, you can get a salon job easily. The only problem is you cannot do a degree programme while schooling except diploma programmes. |

Thanks for d quick reply bro. I believe I have strong home ties back home,I was advised to go back home n apply, cuz In my previous appearance the VO told me I ought to have stayed here years before applying initially cuz I was just 8months old then n applying from naija will give me an edge cuz I UAE would stand as travelling experience. GboyegaD: The B1/B2 shouldn't affect your F1 decision since you are applying for Fall and time must have passed from your last appearance at the embassy. More so, why do you have to come to Nigeria to apply since you have your necessary papers to live and work in Dubai for now? |

Congrats G aadeyi: My Transcript at the Lagos Embassy Yesterday.....
I just filled my DS 160 monday afternoon. Woke around 3am but forced myself back to sleep even though I couldn't sleep like that. Stood up from bed by 4 am and took my morning prayers till 4:30. Took my bath and was ready by 5am. I got to embassy some minutes pass 6 and went through the normal checks and sat for the interview. While sitting down, myself and 2 other guyz sitting beside me were busy Gisting and laughing as people were been interviewed and before we knew it, it was our turn. The guy before me got his and it was my turn
VO: Hi, how are you
ME: Am fine, thanks and you
VO: Am good
VO: Why Mississippi State University
ME: I researched online about the school and I was also privilege to have a chat with the school admission officer who introduced the school to me proper and also they have something I love so much which is a Good Sport Team cos am also a sportman myself (in my mind I knew it was pointless)
VO: So why General Studies?
ME: Actually I applied for Civil Engineering as a transfer student from Yaba College of Technology where I had a Diploma but the school told me I have to start with Pre Engineering and there was no code for it on I-20 so they had to write General Studies which will be changed for me upon resumption
VO: Ok who is sponsoring you , what does he do
ME: My Dad and he is a Civil Engineer too and he owns a construction company
VO: kk your visa has been approved pick it up at this location.
She gave me my I-20 and sevis receipt saying you will need this at the point of entry.
It was all by the grace of God......... Had to pray for 7days with fasting |

I was also handed a white paper though everybody that was denied got a white paper.... I would also like to know d difference between white n blue. MechM: I went for my interview today, I noticed the VO lady in the 2nd section was just denying people visa giving them blue paper, I was looking at her and praying she won't be the one to interview me, she caught my gaze, she stood up and I guess she purposely went to get my passport, I was called to her section, my mind skipped like a child that was called to be punished, she interviewed me, I answered all my questions well, she pulled a white was happy at the split seconds, next she said she's sorry blah blah blah...
@OP what is the difference in blue paper denial and white paper denial? My passport is expiring in Feb 2015, could that also be a reason why I wasn't given a visa? |

Well said, if you read backwards on this thread or alternatively click on my past post , l suggested same few weeks ago, and l hope we can all come together and form a formidable network base, l have met so many sincere and honest Nigerians here, well, l also know we have the good, bad and ugly, but, l have personally met some nice people around and l hope we can come together and network properly, that is the advantage the Indians, filipinas and other ethnic nationalities have over us.
Nigerians seem to work in isolation here and that is really not too good. That is one of the reasons you see the Indians calling the shot all over the UAE, they are very good at looking after their own, that does not mean they are not corrupt, but, they do have a formidable network base.
l was shocked when my HR revealed to me all the secret regarding recruitment here in the UAE, they have a powerful Hindi association comprising all HR's and Operation Managers across the 7emirates in the UAE, and once there is a vacant position they spread the information amongst themselves, although, you might see adverts and walk-in-interviews, but, before the real day of recruitment, they have pre- selected their candidate, so on the day of the recruitment, they position somebody within the building to collect brown envelops and they leave the remaining slot for others, and the slot left behind are mainly low payed jobs. |
