Roland17: In this instance, the moment she got pregnant after his vasectomy should have triggered something and from Doc’s story, it reads like it did but for whatever reason, he lacked the courage.
He only gathered courage after the divorce and notice, he only tested the last child which supports my thought that all the while, he was definitely questioning the fidelity of his wife and paternity of that last child. It might even be the pregnancy after the vasectomy that leads to the divorce. |

Even some oil Companies now have Air BnB they now maintain in places like Parkview etc which they lodge their senior management & expatriates when they are in Lagos.
Those eko hotel prices are for highly moneyed tourists, politicians and foreign nationals. Yes while them Radisson Blu and co are for the IJGB, bank managers and co. |

They are for tourists, politicians and top businessmen
If you are working for Oil company sef, how many days can you spend 300k a night before you go broke
In a month that's 10m for the cheapest room Mostly for politician, foreign expatriates and oil & gas senior management that's been funded by company. |

Take a minute to consider the mind of the wife who probably knew/suspected the truth, yet encouraged him to have a vasectomy. It's so crazy. |

afrodoc2: A man had 3 kids and then he and his wife decided that he should have a vasectomy. After the vasectomy his wife got pregnant. He thought it was due to vasectomy failure (which can happen) and accepted the baby.
It was when they later divorced he decided to carry out a DNA test on the last child, and he wasn’t the father. He carried out DNA tests on the 3 kids before the vasectomy, and only the first was his. Ah |

BlueRayDick: Well, I'm guessing CBN didn't just use word of mouth to tell them they will get their funds repatriated at so so rate in the future .
There must be an official communication to that effect. Whether such official document is now enforceable legally is mother thing entirely .
But one thing is obvious ; things like this don't boost investors confidence one bit . If the document exist, it is legally binding. |

Ibime: CBN is obliged to give them at N460 as that was the rate when they forwarded to CBN. The foreign exchange risk is on CBN
If true, nobody will bring their investment to Nigeria and expose themselves to such risk Well you are right if they already have a fx forward contract with the CBN, I believe a fx forward contract will specify the rate in which they will get their $$ during reparations. So if the CBN is telling them they will get it their stuck funds at the current NAFEM rate, it means they dont have a fx forward contract. I might be wrong though. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 7:12pm On Mar 21, 2024 |
BlueRayDick: Why didn't they repatriate the amount in dollars under Buahri when naira was a little bit stable against the dollar ?
I'm guessing it's because naija CBN didn't have enough dollars in the system to let go that period right ? Yes, that what happened. That's what made their money stuck. If they have a fx forward contract with the CBN, it will already specify the rate at which they will get their $$ but if they dont, they will get it at the current NAFEM rate. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 7:10pm On Mar 21, 2024 |
Itsrm: That's the way I see it too. If the Naira had strengthened to 360, they would have rushed to cash it out of NAFEM.
It's one of the risks of doing business in an unstable environment as ours. Yes. It's not fair to then but it's as it is. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 5:41pm On Mar 21, 2024 |
Itsrm: From what I understand about Fx backlogs, they wanted to repatriate USD, CBN gave them the naira equivalent at say 460 to a dollar with a promise to provide the dollar at a future date.
Now, CBN is asking them to convert that naira they were given back to USD at the NAFEM window. This means they will get far less value for the naira they hold.
It's unfair on them but I understand the position of the CBN. But it's the right and correct thing to do. Whatever loss they incur will be under fx devaluation loss. The CBN cannot and will not give them $$ at the former 460. They are jonzing. Like it was pointed out in the business day news, the CBN has deposited their own with the banks, when they are ready, they will go and pick it up there. |

BlueRayDick: But does it even make sense for an airline being an international business to keep substantial sum in their Naira account knowing how volatile the naira is against the dollar?
I never really understand the story between CBN & the airline operators sha From the little I understand, the foreign airlines want to repatriate the funds they make in Nigeria back to their home country. To do so, they must change their naira to dollar from the CBN who will then credit their HQ. |

izzou: [color=royalblue]So an airline accepted a policy that will wipe away 70% of its earnings?
