I'm saying it will be very difficult for any manager to fix this with the current set of players especially in defense and attack. How many more managers do we need to have before we realize what the real problem is here? A Flick with this midfield and defense will have serious problems trying to implement his style. Even Naggelsman will struggle a lot with bad results. Their only saving grace will be fixing the real problem on time.

Getting a new manager comes with getting players to replace the dross we currently have in the team. Both solid manage and solid players should be the priority

We have new players upfront, but the lethargy upfront remains, is it still the fault of Rashford and Garnacho? We moved the ball slowly in the first half after 21 days of training and no game, but Leeds that played FA cup last week outplayed us in the first half. Is that the fault of Bruno and Casemiro? Did we not play better in the second half, despite the red card? Same players o!

With Case leaving, we need 2 players in the middle and maybe 1-2 defenders to support the current ones. Not another overhaul. Upfront is sorted, except maybe a right winger. So, 3-5 players with focus on key areas of weakness will do.

Carrick is just a temp with relatively few ideas. He’s done well, but I would not want to have him as a permanent manager.

Up front is not settled bros, I doubt it that Sesko can lead the line at this club. He might just be an impact sub.

If I understand Jamiuokola position well, I doubt he's against strengthening the squad, his point is that Carrick as the manager is the one to fix the passiveness with which we play, build up the team mentality and set the right tone for the players.

Carrick has done very well to rescue the season and that cannot be taken from him. Even this Leeds game would have ended differently had we been 2 goals down and 1 man down under either ETH or Amorim. Leeds might have run up the score against us.

Having said all that, we need to think longterm and use logic rather than emotion when appointing the next manager. If a top manager is available I think we need to approach such a manager for the position. What I won’t like though is not giving Carrick the job and then appointing an experimental tech bros.

Absolutely! He is so motivated and I love how he has played this season. He essentially muscles his way to the bucket. We have seen fewer jump shots, spamming of 3s and more drives to the bucket. He is also finally getting the foul calls which makes it even better. He just needs to be consistent with making his FTs. He is shooting it at 79% which is low.

Yes and with Tatum back, you guys are favorite to win the East, I don't know how well you guys match up with the Pistons but I expect you guys to get the job done if you meet in the ECF

Another manager we might consider if all else fail is Maresca.

End the season with a Champions League qualification and reassess. No matter what the final decision is Carrick would be appreciated for saving the season but that does not automatically mean giving him the permanent job.

Luis Enrique and Nagelsmann should be the top targets.
We also need to spend well and spend wisely in the summer transfer window.

If we stumble over the Champions League qualification line we shouldn’t give Carrick the job.

I agree. It seems we are already stumbling, we can barely create chances at the moment which wasn't so when Carrick started. I no mind if we stumble over the line tbh.

The major reason I don't want Carrick to be made permanent is because of my experience with Ole even though I personally believe Ole is tactically better than Carrick.

If we get UCL, the project might become enticing to managers like Enrique.

It is not fair on Carrick to call him a useless piece of shit. He has done well to stabilize the team, amass points that put us in a good place to qualify for the UCL, I just personally feel the job might be too much for him tactically and management wise for now.

Apart from our managers obvious incompetence, the very constant that we complain about every match day for like 5 years has been players.

While I agree we need to get a better manager than Carrick, we also need to invest wisely into this squad else we'll be setting up the new manager for failure also.

Carrick has "tried/trying" his best.

Not just appoint competent manager with X factor alone, they need to invest massively in the squad. If we are losing Case and Ugarte in the midfield then we should be buying 3 midfielders. 2 starters and one decent enough to come from the bench.

We also desperately need to move on from Shaw as our left back and we might just need to buy another striker to support/relieve Sesko.

I don't know where they are going to see the money but we must invest in this squad.
