Dantedasz: Posters should have freedom to post whatever the feel about Manchester United without a group trying to constitute themselves into Watchers and a censors board trying to regulate what should be talked about. This is freedom of speech.
Unfortunately, this is what we see here on this thread,as people are trying to censor others from talking about the Ruben Amorim years.
Allow those who want to discuss Amorim to do so. Those that support Amorim can also talk about what interests them. They should support Amorim openly and not in a surreptitious manner by trying to gag others. Na only Seun and his bot fit stop person from dropping whatever opinion they want to drop here. I don't see this imaginary gag you are talking about |

Leyqute: Cherki is more of an AM. Olise is a winger. And yeah, Olise starts. Deschamps is definitely not using any an AM. He will have to fight for mins on the wings from the bench. |

raumdeuter: That 3 man midfield gives them more solidity than using Cherki as 10
Dembele might be the preferred RW, Mbappe LW and a fodder like Thuram for 9. I think that is their best formation They can field an attack of Mbappe - Dembele - Olise Or Olise - Mbappe - Dembele Olise will bring the creativity that they are sure to sacrifice with the 3 man midfield because we all know Mr Deschamps will go for power and pace over technical ability in the middle. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by larride(m): 10:29pm On Mar 26 |
Godx: Cherki can play as 10 so he doesn't need to bench olise. The problem is Deschamps prefers a 3 man midfield. Totally forgot that Deschampliban is still their manager. They will still play tepid football irrespective of the talent at his disposal. |

chrisooblog: I've heard finance bros say strengthening the Naira too drastically is a no no. That once you do that FPI that people were using to make a killing in your FX market will just japa with their dollars. FDIs is still the goal but is there a realistic way Wale Edun and co could have done that in 3 years? Honestly, I don't know.
I hear exporters are currently happy with the 1400-1500 our currency is at which is another angle why the Naira may not have strengthened further.
The foreign investment lady Mrs. Oduwole is working overtime so with the women in the Petroleum industry to unlock more investment but you're 100% right more needs to be done.
That said the Governors have some fiscal room to play with the subsidy removal. What are they doing? Yes, in Jan when the naira was gained rapidly, CBN had to quickly intervene and bought all the excess dollar in the market to the tune of $230m, the naira reversed and stabilised back to 1370- 1400 Yes, the Governors have to do so much more as they are getting so much more now but the federal government usually set the fiscal tone for the country. For now, Mr Edun handling of our budget has been horrendous. Imagine we are still financing part of 2024 and 2025 budget in 2026. Lots of contractors are still being owed, ministries are complaining of non disbursal of budgeted and approved funds, there has been zero policy to drive down inflation and stimulate the manufacturing and industrial base. A total epic failure fiscally. Yes, Mrs Oduwole and the other woman are trying their best but the finance minister and the coordinating minister of the economy is not coordinating anything. The revenue drive is yielding good result but zero impact. Wale Edun should've been eased out since the second year. |

GloriousGbola: IMHO there will be a subsidy is gone 2.0 for power
We still have another unofficial price cap which will also go eventually It's looking like it and might be what finally turn the country into absolute chaos. Things are hard as it is, the Iran war has made fuel even more expensive, transport cost are soaring, if you join power subsidy is gone join, it will be absolutely unhinged. Even prices of food and other agricultural stuff that has gone down before are beginning to rise rapidly become of the fuel cost. It's hard |

This their song alone go even make you shit for pant
The only issue will be forcing certain players to play out position just to contain some key players. For instance, Olise and Cherki can’t start together, for that to happen, one has to give up the RW position.
https://x.com/kaypoisson1/status/2036756962210136210?s=46 Olise starting ahead of Cherki should not be a debate |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 11:39am On Mar 26 |
chrisooblog: Everybody is afraid to bell the cat of totally removing power subsidy (understandably). Unfortunately no one will invest in an industry that has price caps on services. If those in charge of fiscal policy (Wale Edun n co) have done 50% of what Cardoso and his monetary policy team have done, the naira would've gained and stabilize around 1100. This would've made it easier to do a "subsidy is gone on power" after swearing in in 2027. The fiscal policy team has been a total failure. Tinubu dropped the ball big time. They are just wasting all the good work of the monetary policy team. |

Kimbeast: Its pretty standard. If you move to Texas for example, at some point you will need to exchange your Utah drivers license, license plates, etc and register yourself with Texas but you cannot compare the states with Nigeria. Here it's done to update the database and make sure every individual residing in the state permanently is accounted for. I don't see how you can even implement it in a place like Nigeria effectively. It's possible to implement in Nigeria but currently it's akin to putting the cart ahead of the horse because we still don't have a solid, reliant and updated database. The only state that has a little bit of database is Lagos. |

Tinubu is just trying to be sure that the person is popular on the ground There won't be Seyi Makinde on the ballot, APC just need to avoid Adelabu and Tessy and present someone credible with enough grassroot popularity. That Power Ministry has damaged whatever chances Adelabu has. Good riddance to the minister of darkness. |

BlueRayDick: Oh really?
Didn't know they do that in Ogun state o. The first prominent case of such practise was this current Oniru of Iru land whose mum is from the Royal family and the father is not. It's popular in Ogun State ooo. Even my papa is eligible for Baale in Iro, Ogun State all due to his maternal lineage even though they have passed him over. |

BlueRayDick: You mean his grandfather is originally from Lagos and his grandmother from Ewekoro? So, his father became king in Ewekoro via the grandmother's influence? Yes. It's a very popular concept in Ogun State. As long as you are from the royal family whether paternal or maternal, you are eligible to be King. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 12:42pm On Mar 24 |
BlueRayDick: Yeah, except Abiru is assured of the governorship seat leaving the senate seat vacant for Ambode; he no really get any elective position of note available for him at all.
Maybe Tinubu may give him a political appointment post 2027 elections sha. Nothing is impossible with these politicians. If they zone the Governorship ticket to Ikorodu, I doubt anyone currently has Abiru clout in that division as it is, that's why I said he will throw his hat into that ring. Anything short of that, Abiru will hold tight that senate seat but like you said, anything is possible with politicians. They can tell him to drop the senate seat for a ministerial position in 2027 |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 12:40pm On Mar 24 |
BlueRayDick: Hamzat is not a bad choice at all, In fact he's been next in line since the exit of Fashola and later Ambode but because he's a Muslim he had to "chop bench" for a while.
I also thought he might get sidelined with Seyi Tinubu moving like he's interested in the seat. I don't really rate Obasa and believe Tinubu/APC will not be fooolish enough to field him lest he scatter all the goodwill they've been enjoying in Lagos for years.
In all of these, no indigenous Lagosian is being pushed to be on the ballot. No original Lagosian from Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry , Lagos Island, Ibeju or any of the core Lagos towns is being touted to take the number 1 seat. Even Hamzat father was a monarch in Ogun state before his death in 2019 or thereabouts. Hamzat is an indigenous Lagosian. His Father, the late King is a Lagosian. He became King in Ewekoro, Ogun State through his maternal line. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 12:28pm On Mar 24 |
BlueRayDick: Yeah, Over the weekend I had a discussion with a senior man who rolls with the political class in Lagos and he said Ambode's mess up long gan. He said it is even beyond the whole PSP saga sef.
For example he talked about the rams and gifts the state government buys for some big political figures, members of the clergy, some powerbrokers in the state who work behind the scene etc. He said Ambode just stopped those things abruptly. Like he really stepped on many toes and that was why nobody really stood with him when he fell out with Tinubu. He was isolated.
Even his fellow civil servants (particularly the senior ones like directors of ministries and perm secs) really didn't find his administration enjoyable at all. He was once one of them then decided to foreclose every means through which they "settle" themselves the moment he became the governor. Correct. Ambode was Lagos Accountant General. He enjoyed all the largese until he was told to resign under Fashola to prepare him for Governorship, he became Governor and turned on the same civil service he was once a part of. Ambode na giran |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 12:26pm On Mar 24 |
BlueRayDick: Ambode made a lot of enemies within and outside the APC. He was a working governor, but politics may make his comeback almost impossible sha except Tinubu decides to gift him the ticket to the chagrin of some party members who still have score to settle with Ambode. Ambode is never coming back as Governor. Otilor. His chance was fighting for Lagos East Senatorial seat if the governorship was zoned to Ikorodu division and Abiru goes for it. At the moment, Ambode can't take the senate seat from Abiru |
